Straight Stairlift

Bestseller · Most common · From $2,750

The workhorse of Green Bay's bungalows, postwar ranches, and east-side colonials. Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in Brown County are this model. A single straight run, the rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through the next lake-effect power outage. Most Green Bay installs wrap in under four hours. Every battery ships cold-weather rated to -25°F as baseline.

Starting at $2,750 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages

Stairlift Service Across Brown County

Brown County, WI

From Astor Park — where the 1920s–1940s colonials and Tudors have wide formal stairways with original hardwood banisters that families have maintained for nearly a century — to Navarino, where the compact bungalows have steep, narrow stairs and tight upper landings that require folding-rail options, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in Green Bay. We know which Seymour Park split-levels have the mid-landing turn that requires a curved rail, which Fort Howard worker cottages from the paper mill era have the near-vertical basement stairs that need a specialized compact mount, and which Tank Park and McAuliffe Park postwar homes have the carpeted stairs and swivel-exit configuration that works best for top-landing safety. Adjacent communities in Allouez, De Pere, Ashwaubenon, and Howard are within our same-day service radius — no travel fee, no delay.

1930s Astor Park colonial — beige seat on original dark hardwood treads

Astor Park, WI Installed March 2026

A 1932 colonial in Astor Park with original dark oak treads and a walnut banister the family had maintained for nearly a century. Mrs. Van De Ven's son called from Milwaukee after she stopped going upstairs. We brought rail-finish samples on the first visit, matched to the original oak, and bolted the track into the treads without touching a single spindle. The beige seat rides the warm hardwood stairs and parks flush at the lower landing. The house looks exactly the same.

90° landing turn in a 1960 Seymour Park split-level

Seymour Park, WI Installed February 2026

A 1960 split-level in Seymour Park with the classic Wisconsin layout — five steps down to the rec room, a 90° landing turn, then nine up to the bedrooms. A straight rail was impossible. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the newel post at the upper landing, and installed in a single afternoon. The brown seat parks at the top where the rail curves 90° past the landing light, and Mr. Jansen swivels to step off onto the hallway floor.

Fort Howard cottage — compact rail alongside original stairway woodwork

Fort Howard, WI Installed January 2026

A 1940s paper-mill-era cottage in Fort Howard with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard built into the stairway wall — part of the original construction. Mrs. Depeau's family refused to remove it. We specified the narrow-profile rail on the opposite side so the brown seat rides past the sideboard with inches to spare. The cottage character remains intact, and the compact footrest folds flush when the lift is parked.

Navarino raised entry — freeze-thaw sealed for lake-effect winters

Navarino, WI Installed December 2025

A raised entry in Navarino with six stone paving steps up to the front door — standard for the 1930s bungalows in this neighborhood. Mr. Bowers is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Milwaukee VA. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, had the prescription back in five weeks, and installed the cream outdoor seat before the first lake-effect snowfall. Every bracket is hot-dip galvanized, the motor housing is sealed against Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycling, and the battery has ridden through three power outages since.

Tank Park colonial — swivel-exit seat for safer top-landing step-off

Tank Park, WI Installed November 2025

A two-story colonial in Tank Park with 14 carpeted treads and a tight newel post at the bottom. Mrs. Kowalczyk's biggest concern was stepping off at the top — her husband had slipped there the previous February on the way to the bathroom at night. We installed the swivel-exit seat that rotates 90° at the upper landing, so she stands on the hallway carpet instead of the top step. The brown seat blends with the carpeted stairs and the fold-up footrest keeps the stairway clear.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform for a De Pere adjacent split-entry

McAuliffe Park, WI Installed October 2025

The Xiong family's father uses a power wheelchair and their split-entry home near De Pere has an interior stairway from the garage level to the main floor. We installed an inclined platform lift with yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway, a fold-up deck when not in use, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. The platform handles the wheelchair and rider without any transfers, and the cold-weather-rated battery has operated through two full Green Bay winters without a missed cycle.

Common Questions

Everything Green Bay Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Brown County right now?

Straight rails in standard Green Bay homes — the Astor Park colonials, the Navarino bungalows, the Seymour Park ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-levels with a mid-landing turn run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and basement walk-outs run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Green Bay than Milwaukee or Appleton?

Equipment prices are the same across Wisconsin. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving original banisters in 1920s Astor Park homes, compensating for century-old tread wear in Navarino bungalows, and the occasional electrical upgrade in a pre-1940 house still running a 60-amp panel. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise surcharges.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering in this climate?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30–40% — we carry factory-reconditioned rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. We do not sell refurbished units in Brown County without replacing the battery to our cold-weather spec, because factory-default batteries fail in Green Bay winters. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never available. Ask during the assessment.

Any hidden fees for homes in older Green Bay neighborhoods?

Our quote covers everything: rail, seat, installation labor, battery backup, and the first service visit. The only add-on we occasionally see in older east-side neighborhoods — Astor Park, Navarino, Fort Howard — is a dedicated electrical circuit when the existing outlet can't handle the load. A new circuit adds $200–$400 and is handled by our Wisconsin-licensed electrician. We tell you on the first visit, not after.

A word from Luis

Most Brown County families call me after something real — a fall on the steep basement stairs in a Navarino bungalow, a parent who hasn't been upstairs since the first snow because the landing is too slippery, a son in Milwaukee worried about his widowed mother in an Astor Park colonial she's lived in for 50 years.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
