Stairlift Service Across Monroe County

Monroe County, NY

Monroe County, NY. From the Dewey-Stone bungalows — the oldest neighborhood in Greece, where Cape Cods and craftsman cottages sit on narrow lots with steep interior stairs — to the 1970s colonials off Long Pond Road in North Greece with their landing turns that demand curved rails, our team has measured staircases across every section of town. We know which Ridgeway-Long Pond raised ranches have the stone-tile entry steps that need shimmed brackets, which Paddy Hill split-levels have the deep-pile carpet that requires stringer-mounted anchors, and which Latta Road corridor homes have the half-flight garage-to-kitchen layout that only a platform lift can serve. We staff dedicated Monroe County coverage so you never wait on a tech driving up from Syracuse or down from Buffalo.

1948 Dewey-Stone Cape Cod — straight rail on original oak treads

Dewey-Stone, NY Installed February 2026

A 1948 Cape Cod in the Dewey-Stone neighborhood — the oldest section of Greece, where the bungalows sit close together on narrow lots and the stairs are steep to make up for the small footprint. Mrs. Kowalski’s staircase had the original hardwood oak treads, still solid after 78 years, but with a rise steep enough that her orthopedist told her to stop climbing after her second knee replacement. Her daughter drove over from Irondequoit every morning to bring her coffee upstairs. We bolted a straight rail directly into the oak treads — no wall anchors, no banister contact — and the chair folds flat enough that her grandson still walks past it without turning sideways.

North Greece colonial — curved rail with 90° upper landing turn

North Greece, NY Installed January 2026

A 1972 colonial off Long Pond Road in North Greece with a full-flight staircase and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The DiNapolis had been sleeping in the downstairs den since October because neither of them could handle the landing turn safely after Mr. DiNapoli’s stroke. We laser-scanned the entire run, fabricated a single curved rail that carries them from the foyer to the upstairs hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so they step off onto the carpet, not the top tread. They were back in their own bedroom that same night.

Greece Ridge cottage — straight rail on stone-tile treads in a compact entry

Greece Ridge, NY Installed November 2025

A 1955 bungalow near Greece Ridge Mall with a compact interior staircase — stone-tile treads, a wooden sideboard crowding the bottom landing, and barely 30 inches of clearance between the wall and the railing. Mrs. Petrova had been avoiding the upstairs bedrooms since her second fall on the slippery tile treads last winter. We shimmed the rail brackets to level the ride across the settled stone tiles, specified a slim-profile seat that folds tight against the wall so the sideboard stays put, and bolted the track into the treads without disturbing a single tile. The cottage feel of the entry is unchanged — the rail tucks against the wall and the potted plant on the sideboard is exactly where it was before we arrived.

Outdoor

Paddy Hill raised ranch — outdoor lift on stone-paved front porch steps

Paddy Hill, NY Installed October 2025

A 1970s raised ranch in the Paddy Hill section of Greece with seven rough-cut stone paving steps leading up to a covered front porch — fully exposed to lake-effect snow from November through April. Mr. Hartmann is 84 and had fallen on the icy stone entry twice in two winters. We anchored a weather-sealed outdoor rail into the stone pavers using stainless-steel masonry bolts, installed a cream-colored UV-stabilized seat with a heated joystick enclosure rated to -20°F, and sealed every electrical connection against Monroe County’s wind-driven rain and freeze-thaw cycles. The seat parks at the top next to the front door, out of the walkway. Mr. Hartmann rides it every morning and evening without thinking about the weather.

Ridgeway-Long Pond split-level — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Ridgeway-Long Pond, NY Installed December 2025

A 1963 raised ranch near the Ridgeway and Long Pond intersection with a carpeted split-level staircase — deep-pile beige carpet over wood stringers, a small landing at the turn, and a tiled foyer at the bottom. Mr. Santangelo had been gripping the iron handrail with both hands since his hip surgery, and the carpet pile made his footing feel loose on every step. We mounted the rail through the carpet and pad into the stair stringers with reinforced anchors, torqued every bolt, and tested the ride with the battery backup disconnected from mains. The brown upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones — his wife said she barely notices it when she walks past. He rides it six times a day without a second thought.

Platform Lift

Latta Road bi-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift between floors

Latta Road Corridor, NY Installed September 2025

A 1980s bi-level off Latta Road where Mr. Chen’s mother moved in after a stroke left her in a full-time power wheelchair. She could not transfer to a seated stairlift, so the family needed a platform lift — a flat, anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges that carries the wheelchair and rider together. We installed the inclined platform lift along the indoor stairway between the entry level and the main living floor, added a keyed lockout for the grandchildren, and wired a battery backup rated for Monroe County power outages. The platform carries 750 lbs — wheelchair, occupant, and a caregiver standing alongside. Mr. Chen’s mother has not missed a family dinner since September.

Common Questions

Everything Greece Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Greece, NY right now?

Straight rails in standard Greece homes — the Cape Cods in Dewey-Stone, the raised ranches along Ridgeway and Long Pond, the colonials in North Greece — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for staircases with a landing turn or split-level entry run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for exposed front steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, cold-weather battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Greece than in Rochester proper?

No. Equipment prices are identical across Monroe County — we don’t charge differently based on your address. What varies slightly is install complexity: shimming rail brackets on uneven stone-tile treads in a 1960s raised ranch, threading a curved rail past an original banister in a Dewey-Stone bungalow, or adding the cold-weather outdoor spec for an exposed front-step install. We line-item every cost upfront. No surprise add-ons after we start.

Does the cold-weather battery spec cost extra?

No. Every stairlift we install in Greece — indoor or outdoor — ships with the cold-weather battery rated to -20 degrees Fahrenheit as standard. Lake-effect winters are not optional weather in Monroe County, and a battery that dies at 10 degrees is not a stairlift we’ll put our name on. The heated joystick enclosure on outdoor models is also included at no upcharge.

Do you offer financing if I don’t qualify for Medicaid or HISA?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually same-day. Many Greece families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction — if a licensed physician recommends the stairlift in writing, the full cost qualifies as a medical expense under Schedule A. We walk you through the math during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Greece families call after a bad winter morning — ice on the front steps, a parent who stopped going upstairs after Thanksgiving, a son in Charlotte who can’t check in every day. The town has over 40,000 homes, most of them 1950s–1970s raised ranches and Cape Cods built when nobody thought about mobility at 80. I drive out from Rochester, measure your stairs that afternoon, and leave you with a written quote good for 30 days.

No deposit. No pushy follow-up calls. If you want to talk it over with your family first, that’s exactly what you should do.
