Great Bend has a housing pattern most installers miss — about a third of the homes here are pre-1940 craftsman and bungalow stock from the oil boom days, and most of those have a finished basement that families use as a tornado shelter from March through June. That basement run is often where the stairlift goes, not the upstairs.
The newer homes out toward Stone Ridge and Martin Meadows are code-built with predictable stair geometry. I quote those at the door and install within the week. The 1920s Heizer Street and Riverside homes take more measuring — narrow treads, heart-pine stringers, and original plaster walls that I will not bolt into.
