Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, MD

We cover all of Glenmont and the surrounding 20906 ZIP. The post-war ramblers in Glenmont Forest and Glenmont Village almost always have 32 to 34-inch stair widths with original oak treads — straight rails bolt cleanly into the tread, no carpet removal needed. Greenwood Knolls and Glenmont Hills two-stories run a tighter 90 at the upper landing, so we spec curved rail with a top park. Layhill South condos near the Metro need HOA sign-off; we file the package for you. Georgian Forest colonials and the Randolph Road corridor handle full curved installs. For the Aspen Hill border off Georgia Avenue, outdoor entries get IP55-sealed weather-rated rails built for Glenmont's freeze-thaw cycles.

Common Questions

Everything Glenmont Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift cost in Glenmont, MD?

A straight-rail stairlift in a Glenmont Forest rambler runs from $2,800 installed. Curved rails for Greenwood Knolls or Georgian Forest colonials start at $9,000 because each rail is CAD-mapped to your stairs. Outdoor units start at $4,000. Financing is available from $79/month.

Why is curved more expensive than straight in 20906 homes?

Most Glenmont colonials and the Layhill Road two-stories have a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The rail has to be welded to the exact arc of your stairs — typically a 4 to 6-week build at the factory. Straight rails are stocked at our Maryland depot.

Are there hidden fees on a Glenmont install?

No. The quote includes survey, permit filing with Montgomery County DPS, rail, seat, install, and the 5-year warranty. Stair carpet removal or banister adjustment is called out before you sign.

What does ongoing maintenance cost in Glenmont?

Annual service is $189 and covers battery check, rail lubrication, and safety-sensor calibration. Glenmont's freeze-thaw cycles wear outdoor rails faster, so we recommend the service plan for any porch unit.

A word from Luis

Glenmont homes break into two groups for me: the 1950s ramblers and split-foyers around Glenmont Forest with narrow 32-inch stairs and oak treads, and the newer townhomes off Layhill Road with steep 14-riser runs and tight 90-degree turns at the upper landing. I measure both the same way, but the rail spec is very different.

For the splits, I almost always go straight rail with the seat parked at the bottom landing so the front door stays clear. For the Greenwood Knolls and Georgian Forest two-stories, it's usually a curved rail with a top park to keep the chair off the foyer rug. And because Glenmont sits in true freeze-thaw country, every outdoor install gets an IP55-sealed weather-rated rail with a sealed cover, not the indoor variant. That's the call I make on day one of the survey.

— Luis Ramírez, Glenmont
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Glenmont sits at a crossroads of housing eras — 1950s splits next to 1990s townhomes next to new Layhill condos — and each one needs a different rail strategy. We do the survey, file the Montgomery County permit, and stock parts at our Maryland depot so most jobs land same-week.

Call or fill the form for a free in-home measurement. I'll show you the exact rail length and turn radius for your stairs, the Maryland Accessible Homes for Seniors grant paperwork if you qualify, and a fixed quote — no upsell, no surprise change orders.
