Straight Stairlift

The workhorse of Garland's ranch conversions and builder-grade two-stories.

Over 75% of the stairlifts we install in Garland are straight rails. The rail bolts into your stair treads (never the wall), the seat and footrest fold flat, and the battery backup keeps you moving through summer brownouts and winter ice storms. Every Garland install ships with high-temperature lubricant and UV-stable seat fabric as the Texas default. Most installs wrap in under four hours.

Stairlift Service Across Dallas County

Dallas County, TX

From the 1960s ranches and retrofit two-stories of South Garland to the 1990s-2000s developments near Firewheel Town Center, from the established homes along Eastern Hills and Duck Creek to the compact lots in Downtown Garland, our team has measured stairs in every corridor of this city. We know which North Garland subdivisions have the open-riser staircase that needs a safety panel, which Firewheel-area floor plans have the 90-degree landing that requires a curved rail, and which South Garland additions have the steep retrofit stairs that push the edge of standard rail angles.

Because Garland borders Rowlett, Sachse, Richardson, and Murphy, we cover those communities without additional travel charges. The Dallas VA is a 20-minute drive from most Garland addresses.

Dark hardwood stairs in an Eastern Hills ranch — beige seat, warm indoor palette

Eastern Hills, TX Installed March 2026

A 1968 Eastern Hills ranch that got a second-story addition in 1994 with dark oak hardwood stairs. The family wanted the beige seat to blend with the warm indoor wood tones rather than stand out against them. We matched the upholstery color on-site, bolted the rail into the oak treads without touching the banister, and parked the chair at the landing where it practically disappears against the dark hardwood. Mr. Nguyen's mother rides it three times a day — she hasn't missed a meal downstairs since install.

90° curved rail in a Firewheel two-story — brown seat at the upper landing

Firewheel, TX Installed February 2026

A 2001 Firewheel-area two-story with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing and a foyer chandelier that hung directly in the rail path. We digitally scanned the staircase, custom-fabricated a curved rail that clears the chandelier with inches to spare, and mounted the brown upholstered seat so it parks flush at the upper landing. Mrs. Patterson swivels 90 degrees and steps directly onto the hallway hardwood. The chandelier — an anniversary gift — stayed exactly where it was.

Stone-tile treads in a South Garland cottage — compact rail beside the sideboard

South Garland, TX Installed January 2026

A renovated 1970s South Garland home with stone tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs that Mrs. Reyes's late husband refinished. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on the compact-profile rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the sideboard by three inches, and used masonry anchors rated for the tile. The cottage character stayed intact. Her grandchildren run past the folded seat without a second glance.

Outdoor

Outdoor rail on stone paving at a North Garland raised entry

North Garland, TX Installed December 2025

The Thompsons' North Garland home has a raised front entry with decorative stone paving and five exterior steps that bake in the summer sun and ice over in the occasional winter storm. We installed the cream-colored outdoor seat on a UV-sealed rail anchored into the stone paving, added a high-temperature lubricant rated for the 100°F+ surface temps, and tested the unit on a 102°F September afternoon. Mr. Thompson — a retired Army veteran — rides it in daylight and after dark with the armrest LEDs lighting the path. The HISA grant covered most of the cost.

Carpeted stairs in a Firewheel two-story — swivel seat at the residential landing

Firewheel, TX Installed November 2025

A 1999 Firewheel-area two-story with 14 carpeted treads and a residential landing that opens to the upstairs hallway. Mrs. Wallace's mother had moved in after a hip replacement and the stairs were the only barrier to independence. We installed the brown-upholstered seat with the swivel-exit feature — the chair rotates 90 degrees at the upper landing so she stands on the hallway carpet instead of the top step. The rail runs along the carpeted treads cleanly. She's been upstairs every night since install.

Platform Lift

Indoor platform lift with yellow safety edges for a Downtown Garland veteran

Downtown Garland, TX Installed October 2025

Mr. Jackson served 24 years in the Army and uses a power wheelchair after a service-connected back injury. His Downtown Garland home has an indoor stairway between the main floor and the bedrooms. We installed an inclined platform lift with a flat deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges on all four sides. The platform folds against the wall when not in use so the stairs stay passable for his wife and visiting grandchildren. The VA HISA grant through the Dallas VA covered the bulk of the cost. He hasn't slept on the couch since.

Common Questions

Everything Garland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Garland right now?

Straight rails in standard Garland homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for Firewheel 90-degree landings and South Garland retrofit turns — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured. Outdoor models with Texas heat-rated components run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, heat-spec upgrades, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Garland than Richardson or Rowlett?

Equipment prices are identical across east Dallas County. We don't inflate quotes based on suburb. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: masonry anchoring into tile, safety-panel fabrication for open-riser stairs, or adjustable-angle mounting on steep retrofit staircases. Every line item is broken out on the written quote.

Do you charge extra for the Texas heat upgrades?

No. Every Garland install ships with high-temperature synthetic lubricant rated to 140°F and UV-stable seat fabric as the Texas default. These are not add-ons. A factory-default stairlift installed in a west-facing Garland stairwell without these specs will fail within two to three Texas summers.

What does a Spanish-language consultation cost?

Nothing extra. Every assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — our specialist Luis is fully bilingual. The written quote, consent form, and operating manual are all available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

A word from Luis

Most Garland families call after something has already happened — a fall in one of those 1960s ranches that got a second story added in the 1990s, a parent in the Firewheel area whose knees can't do the builder-grade stairs anymore, a veteran on the east side whose service-connected injury finally caught up with the two-story layout.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
