Stairlift Service Across Kent County

Kent County, MI

Forest Hills stairlift work breaks out by township. In Ada Township, the historic Ada Village foursquares along M-21 usually need curved rails for their 90° upper turns. Homes in Thornapple Woods and the Grand River Drive corridor are two-story walkouts where curved rails handle mid-landings. Hidden Canyon, Hunters Run, and The Preserve subdivisions run straight flights with carpet. In Cascade Township, the Cascade Hills and Thornapple Club areas south of Cascade Road see the bulk of split-level straight installs. Exterior lifts are common on deck entries facing the Thornapple River.

Common Questions

Everything Forest Hills Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost installed in Forest Hills?

A straight rail on a single-flight staircase in Forest Hills starts at $2,800 installed. That includes rail, chair, swivel seat, battery backup, and labor. Most Hidden Canyon and Cascade split installs land between $2,800 and $3,300 for a 14 to 16 foot run.

How much more is a curved rail in Forest Hills?

Curved rails start at $9,000. Most Ada Village and Thornapple River curved installs run $9,500 to $12,500 depending on turn count and mid-landing geometry. Each rail is laser-measured and factory-bent to your exact staircase.

Are Ada Village historic homes more expensive to install?

Not usually. Ada Township doesn't require permits for interior residential lifts. The only extra cost is time — older 1890s-1920s farmhouses have soft risers we shim before bolting, which adds 30 to 45 minutes to the install.

Can I finance a stairlift in Forest Hills?

Yes — financing from $79/month with approved credit, with 0% promotional terms available. Many Forest Hills families combine financing with the MI Choice Waiver or a VA HISA grant if they qualify.

A word from Luis

Forest Hills is really three different installs. The Ada Village farmhouses off M-21 have narrow 30-inch treads and a square upper turn — that's a curved rail conversation. The Thornapple River walkouts have two full flights with a mid-landing, which needs either two straight rails or one continuous curved rail. Cascade Township splits run short straight flights, fastest install in the CDP.

The other factor is humidity. Kent County gets lake-effect moisture all winter and freeze-thaw damage every March. I seal every rail bracket and spec battery backup because Consumers Energy drops during ice storms. I live close enough to drive from Ada to Cascade or up to East Grand Rapids the same afternoon when a charger fails.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

A Forest Hills stairlift survey takes 45 minutes at your house. I measure tread width, check the upper-turn geometry, and photograph any mid-landing so the quote is accurate the first time — one fixed number, no range.

Straight installs in Hidden Canyon or Cascade split-levels usually run within the week. Curved rails for Ada Village farmhouses and Thornapple River walkouts take 4 to 6 weeks to fabricate. I handle the MI Choice Waiver paperwork and Grand Rapids VA HISA coordination if you qualify.
