Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across St. Louis County

St. Louis County, MO

From the Federal and Greek Revival homes of Old Town Florissant — where the Historic District has specific requirements about exterior-visible modifications and we file those applications at no charge — to the postwar brick ranches of Paddock Hills and Sunridge, where 1950s–1960s carpeted-stair layouts account for most of our north county installs, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in this city. We know which Parker Road Corridor colonials have the half-landing turn requiring a curved rail, which North Florissant bi-levels need split-entry solutions, and which Coldwater Creek 1970s homes have open-railing designs needing different bracket configurations. We also cover Hazelwood, Black Jack, and Berkeley.

Old Town Florissant Federal-style home — straight rail matched to original hardwood

Old Town Florissant, MO Installed March 2026

A pre-Civil War Federal-style home in Old Town Florissant with an original turned-post banister the family had been preserving for three generations. We brought finish samples to the first visit, matched the rail tone to the existing dark hardwood treads, and mounted the track exclusively into the tread surfaces — no contact with the banister, no contact with the plaster wall. The seat sits unfolded at the bottom of the staircase, ready for the next ride up. The Florissant Historic District application was filed and approved before we scheduled install day.

Paddock Hills brick ranch — curved rail around an upper-landing turn past the half-wall

Paddock Hills, MO Installed February 2026

A 1958 brick ranch in Paddock Hills where the upper-floor staircase bends 90 degrees around a half-wall before reaching the hallway. Mrs. Sutherland had fallen near the top turn twice in the prior year. We laser-scanned the curve on the first visit, fabricated a single continuous rail that sweeps around the half-wall with the seat parking flush at the upper landing. She steps off directly onto the hallway floor. The chandelier above the stairwell and the framed family photos on the wall stayed untouched — the curved rail threads past both without contact. No falls since install.

Old Town cottage — straight rail on original stone-tile treads in a compact entryway

Old Town Florissant, MO Installed January 2026

A compact 1870s cottage in Old Town Florissant with original stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard wedged against the base of the stairway. The Holloways needed a solution that wouldn't require moving their grandmother's furniture or altering the tight traditional layout. We mounted a straight rail directly into the stone treads, positioned the seat to clear the sideboard when folded, and matched the upholstery to the warm tones of the surrounding woodwork. The cottage feel of the entryway — cozy, traditional, every surface earning its place — stayed completely intact.

Sunridge raised ranch — outdoor lift over stone-paved porch entry

Sunridge, MO Installed December 2025

A 1966 Sunridge raised ranch with a stone-paved front entry and five exterior porch steps that turned into a sheet of ice every winter. The Garrisons' mother had stopped leaving the house between November and March because the front entry was the only way out. We anchored a weather-sealed outdoor stairlift into the stone paving with masonry bolts, installed a cream-colored weather-resistant seat with a locking cover, and sealed every electrical connection against Missouri rain, ice, and humidity. The unit handled the 2025-2026 winter — including two ice storms — without a service call.

North Florissant ranch — compact rail on carpeted stairs

North Florissant, MO Installed November 2025

A 1962 ranch in North Florissant with brown carpet covering every tread and a narrower-than-standard stair opening at 31 inches. Mr. Washington's granddaughter needed to walk past the parked chair daily, so clearance mattered. We fitted the compact seat model with brown upholstery that blends with the carpet tones, adjusted the folding footrest to reduce the parked footprint, and tested the clearance with Mr. Washington's granddaughter walking alongside before we finalized. Passed with 6 inches to spare. The seat parks at the landing against the wall, matching the carpet color so closely visitors don't notice it until they're told.

Platform Lift

Coldwater Creek area — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a rollator user

Coldwater Creek, MO Installed October 2025

The Morrisons' mother uses a rollator walker and could no longer manage the indoor staircase in their 1970s raised ranch near the Coldwater Creek corridor. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift inside the stairway — a flat black anti-slip deck with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides, a white handrail, and interlocked gates at both levels. The orange-toned walls of the stairway and the window at the mid-landing stayed untouched. She rolls the walker onto the platform, rides to the upper floor, and rolls off without transferring to a seat. The unit handled the full Missouri winter without a service call.

Common Questions

Everything Florissant Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Florissant right now?

Straight rails in standard Florissant homes — the postwar brick ranches of Paddock Hills, the bi-levels of Sunridge, the colonials along Parker Road — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for half-landing colonials or the occasional split-entry bi-level with a mid-run turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and exterior basement access run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are there extra charges for Old Town Florissant historic district properties?

We file the Florissant Historic District application at no charge when it's required. In most cases, a stairlift install is treated as interior equipment and the rail bolts into the stair treads — not into any exterior-visible surface — so the historic overlay review is not triggered. We've worked in Old Town before and know which installs need a filing and which don't before we show up.

Does St. Louis County registration cost me anything extra?

No. We hold active St. Louis County contractor registration, including the county-required $25,000 bond and $500,000 liability insurance. That cost is built into our operating model, not passed on to Florissant clients as a line item. You're paying for the install, not for our compliance overhead.

Do you offer financing if I'd rather pay monthly?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and fixed-rate plans from $79 per month. Application is a soft credit pull (no impact to your score), takes about four minutes, and approval is typically immediate. Many Florissant families combine financing with a partial VA HISA grant or the MO HealthNet waiver to bring the out-of-pocket cost down substantially. We walk through the numbers during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Florissant is a city that built itself in the postwar decades — the 1950s and 1960s brick ranches and split-levels that fill Paddock Hills, Sunridge, and the Parker Road corridor were designed for young families moving out of St. Louis City. Six decades later, those same families are still there, and the stairs that were never a second thought are now the main reason someone calls me.

What I always tell them: the install itself is the easy part. I'm at your house within 24 hours, I measure the actual staircase, and I give you a written quote good for 30 days. Every St. Louis County registration, every Old Town permit requirement — that's already handled before I knock on your door.
