Stairlift Service Across Washington County

Washington County, AR

From the brick cottages in Wilson Park — where 1940s construction means original hardwood treads and narrow stringers — to the 1970s split-levels in Mount Sequoyah where the staircase turns tight at the upper landing, we've measured every floor plan type Fayetteville produces. The Asbell neighborhood near campus has affordable ranch-to-two-story conversions with compact stairs that need slim-profile rails. Gulley Park homes trend newer with wider treads and standard geometry. Clabber Creek's suburban two-stories install fast — wide stairs, modern framing, three hours typical. Downtown Fayetteville's older commercial-to-residential conversions sometimes require custom measurement for non-standard tread depths.

1940s bungalow in Wilson Park — narrow-profile rail on original hardwood

Wilson Park, AR Installed March 2026

A 1943 bungalow in Wilson Park with original white oak treads and a stringer too narrow for a standard rail profile. We brought the compact-profile rail to the first visit, confirmed the fit without touching the original banister, and anchored into the tread wood with stainless bolts sized to avoid splitting. The seat folds flat when parked at the bottom landing so the family's grandchildren can still use the stairs normally.

Mount Sequoyah split-level — 90° curved rail past the upper landing balustrade

Mount Sequoyah, AR Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level in Mount Sequoyah where the stair run makes a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. We digitally scanned the staircase on the first visit, fabricated a curved rail to the exact geometry, and installed in a single afternoon. The chair swivels 90 degrees at the top floor so Mrs. Holloway steps off onto the hallway rather than the top tread. The existing newel post and half-wall balustrade were preserved entirely.

Downtown Fayetteville cottage — compact rail beside the sideboard in a cozy stairwell

Downtown Fayetteville, AR Installed January 2026

A compact traditional cottage near the Downtown Fayetteville square with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the foot of the stairs. The stairwell is narrow with a Mediterranean feel — potted plants on the cabinet, warm earth tones throughout. We fitted a straight rail along the right side, keeping clearance past the sideboard so Mrs. Caldwell can still access the hallway furniture. The seat parks at the bottom next to the cabinet without blocking the walkway.

Asbell raised porch — weather-sealed rail on stone-paved entry steps

Asbell, AR Installed December 2025

A raised front porch entry in the Asbell neighborhood with rough natural stone paving and seven exterior steps. Mr. Patterson, a veteran with a service-connected knee injury, hadn't used the front entrance in over a year. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor rail with a cream-colored seat, stainless fasteners throughout, and a cold-rated battery for Northwest Arkansas winters. The VA HISA grant covered $6,800 of the project cost.

Gulley Park two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs with landing transition

Gulley Park, AR Installed November 2025

A 1990s two-story in the Gulley Park area with carpeted stairs and a small landing between the tiled foyer and the upper hallway. The carpet-covered treads required recessed anchors to keep the rail base flush. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones so the lift looks intentional rather than added. Mrs. Greer, 79, had been sleeping downstairs for 18 months — she was back in her own bedroom that evening.

Clabber Creek — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran who cannot transfer

Clabber Creek, AR Installed October 2025

A Clabber Creek home where Mr. Burrows, a wheelchair-using veteran, needed access between the main floor and the lower-level den. A seated stairlift was not an option — he cannot transfer from his wheelchair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and a white handrail along the indoor stairway. The ARChoices Medicaid waiver covered the full cost after a DHS assessment we helped coordinate.

Common Questions

Everything Fayetteville Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Fayetteville right now?

Straight rails in standard Fayetteville homes — the Wilson Park bungalows, the Asbell ranches, the newer builds off Wedington Drive — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level layouts in Mount Sequoyah and near campus run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised porch entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are older bungalows in Wilson Park or Downtown harder to install — and more expensive?

Not always more expensive, but they require more planning. The 1930s and 1940s homes in Downtown Fayetteville and Wilson Park tend to have original hardwood treads and narrow stringers that need the compact-profile rail. We bring that rail to every Fayetteville assessment as a baseline. The only time cost increases is when the original banister is structural — which is rare but does happen in the older Downtown blocks — and we need to work around it. We tell you that on the first visit, not after we've started.

Do you charge extra to come to Farmington, Springdale, or Johnson?

No. All of Washington County is our service area — Johnson (4 miles), Farmington (5 miles), Greenland, Elkins, Tontitown, and Springdale are all included in the same quote. Same installer, same labor rate, no travel surcharge. The written quote you get covers door to door.

Can I finance if I don't qualify for a grant?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull, takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually same-day. Many Washington County families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial VA HISA grant to bring the monthly payment down considerably. We walk through the math during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Fayetteville families call me after something has already gone wrong — a fall on the stairs in a Wilson Park bungalow, a close call on the split-level steps in Mount Sequoyah, or a veteran at the Ozarks VA who just got cleared for a HISA grant and doesn't know where to start. I do every measurement myself. No call centers, no subcontractors.

Washington County has a mix of 1940s cottages near the square, 1970s split-levels south of campus, and newer two-stories out toward Wedington Drive. I've measured all of them. The older homes near Downtown Fayetteville and Asbell have narrow treads and original hardwood — that's where the compact-profile rail matters. The split-levels in Mount Sequoyah and Gulley Park need curved rails because the landing turns tight at 90 degrees.

If you're a veteran who needs the VA HISA grant paperwork handled, that's my second job at this point — I've walked more than 60 Washington County veterans through it at the Ozarks facility on North College Avenue.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

If your parent lives in a Washington County home with stairs they can no longer manage safely, the question isn't whether a stairlift will work — it's which rail type fits the staircase and which funding source covers the cost. We answer both on the first visit.

Call today for a free in-home assessment. Luis measures every Fayetteville staircase personally, writes the quote on-site, and if you're a veteran, starts the HISA paperwork before he leaves.
