Stairlift Service Across Martin County

Martin County, MN

I serve Fairmont from the Budd Lake and Sisseton Lake shorelines on the east side, through the downtown blocks near Lincoln Park, out to the Fairmont Estates subdivision and the White Ridge Trail twin homes on the south. The 1920s bungalows along Lake Avenue and the Foursquares near Hall Lake have narrow 30-inch staircases with original fir treads — straight rails fit cleanly. The 1970s ranches in Fairmont Estates and the split-entry homes on the north side near the Martin County Fairgrounds need straight or 90-degree curved rails depending on the basement access. I also cover the townships out toward East Chain and Fox Lake when a homeowner calls.

Common Questions

Everything Fairmont Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost installed in Fairmont?

A standard straight install in a Fairmont bungalow or ranch runs $2,800 to $3,500 installed — rail, seat, DC motor, battery backup, and any electrical permit Martin County requires. Quote is firm before install.

How much more for a curved rail in a Lincoln Park Foursquare?

Curved rails start at $9,000. For a typical center-hall Foursquare with one 90-degree turn, expect $9,500 to $11,500. The rail is custom-bent after I laser-measure your specific stair geometry.

Is monthly financing available in Fairmont?

Yes — from $79 per month on approved credit. Many Martin County families use this while waiting on VA HISA or Elderly Waiver EAA approval. No prepayment penalty.

Does Fairmont require any extra permits for a stairlift?

Fairmont and Martin County require an electrical permit only if a new hardwired outlet is needed. Fees are typically $40 to $90. I file the paperwork and include it in the quote.

A word from Luis

Fairmont homes fall into two buckets. First, the pre-1940 bungalows and American Foursquares on Lake Avenue and near Lincoln Park — narrow stairs, often 30 to 32 inches clear, with original fir treads. Second, the 1960s-80s ranches in Fairmont Estates and the newer builds out toward White Ridge Trail, where stairs are wider but landings are tighter because of finished basements.

I measure every home in person. The lake-adjacent homes deal with serious freeze-thaw — I use stainless fasteners on every outdoor install and spec a battery backup on every indoor unit because Martin County power flickers hard during winter storms.

— Luis Ramírez, Fairmont
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Fairmont winters are hard on outdoor units and on anyone with knees or hips that don't work the way they used to. Most of my Martin County installs are in homes that have been in the same family for decades — the goal is always to keep the stair treads untouched and the install reversible.

Call or email me for a measured quote. I cover Fairmont, Sherburn, Truman, Welcome, and the surrounding townships on the same route, so timing is usually within a week.
