Stairlift Service Across Honolulu County

Honolulu County, HI

Ewa Beach divides cleanly by era and coastal exposure. South of Papipi Road: Ewa Villages plantation cottages from the 1930s-1940s with narrow treads and humidity-warped wood; Iroquois Point military housing — privatized two-stories requiring base-office approval before install; and Hoakalei, a resort-master-planned enclave with modern two-stories around an Arnold Palmer golf course. North of Papipi: Ocean Pointe by Haseko, 2000s townhomes within half a mile of Mamala Bay — every coastal install here gets marine-grade stainless; Ewa by Gentry Prescott and Sandalwood homes, wider landings, 2002-2008; Westloch by Gentry townhomes; and Plantation Colony condos on the northeast edge. We install across all of them.

Straight

Ocean Pointe — straight rail on original oak treads

Ocean Pointe, HI Installed February 2026

Ocean Pointe two-story built by Haseko in 2006. Fourteen dark-oak treads running from the lanai-level entry to the bedroom floor. Beige seat parked at the bottom landing, straight rail bolted to the treads. Marine-grade stainless brackets specified — Ocean Pointe sits half a mile from Mamala Bay, and zinc-plated hardware corrodes within two years of that salt exposure.

Common Questions

Everything Ewa Beach Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Ewa Beach?

A straight rail in an Ewa Beach home starts at $2,800 installed. Most Ocean Pointe two-stories and Westloch townhomes finish between $2,800 and $3,400 because the stairs are standard 13-15 feet with no turns. Within a mile of Mamala Bay, add about $150 for marine-grade stainless hardware.

Why do coastal Ewa Beach installs cost more?

Salt-air corrosion. Homes within about a mile of the shore — Iroquois Point, the south end of Ewa Villages, lanai-facing units in Ocean Pointe — need marine-grade 316 stainless brackets and sealed motor housings. That hardware runs about $150 over zinc-plated. A mainland installer often skips this. We don't.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Our Ewa Beach quote is itemized: rail, seat, motor, battery backup, installation, marine-grade hardware if applicable, and 5-year warranty on parts plus lifetime on the rail. We do not charge for the site visit or for removing an existing unit.

Does Medicare cover a stairlift in Hawaii?

No. Traditional Medicare does not cover stairlifts — they're classified as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. A limited number of Medicare Advantage plans sold on Oahu include a home-modification benefit. For Medicaid-eligible seniors, see the QUEST Integration question in the funding tab.

A word from Luis

I've measured stairs across Ewa Beach — from the old plantation cottages near Renton Road in Ewa Villages to the newer Ocean Pointe townhomes south of Fort Weaver. The salt air here is real. Coastal installs within a mile of Mamala Bay need marine-grade stainless hardware, not the zinc-plated brackets a mainland installer would ship. I carry both and I specify the right one on your quote.

What families don't expect is how different the housing stock is within Ewa Beach. Ewa Villages is pre-1950 plantation construction with narrow treads and low ceilings. Ocean Pointe is 2005-era two-story with wide turns at the landing. These are not the same install. I measure before I quote.

If your parent is a veteran stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam — active or retired — I'll walk you through the HISA grant on the phone. Most Ewa Beach veterans I've worked with qualify for the $6,800 service-connected rate.

— Luis Ramírez, Ewa Beach
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Ewa Beach stairs aren't one thing. An Ewa Villages plantation cottage needs different hardware than an Ocean Pointe two-story, and a unit within a mile of Mamala Bay needs different brackets than one inland. Luis measures your exact staircase — treads, turns, coastal exposure — before he quotes.

Call for a free in-home assessment anywhere from Fort Weaver Road to Papipi Road. Most installs finish in a week, and financing starts at $79 a month if you need it.
