Stairlift Service Across Garfield County

Garfield County, OK

From the 1920s–1930s craftsman bungalows of the Government Addition with wide original pine treads and low-pitched stairways, to the post-war brick homes in Kenwood and Waverley built during Vance Field’s wartime expansion, our team has measured staircases across every Enid neighborhood. We know which Willowood and Meadowbrook homes from the 1960s have the split-level entry requiring a curved rail, which Indian Hills properties have standard-width stairs that install in under three hours, and which newer builds near the Vance AFB perimeter have wide modern stairs. We also cover North Enid, Waukomis, Kremlin, Drummond, Lahoma, and Garber across Garfield County — same crew, same pricing, no surcharge.

1931 Government Addition craftsman — straight rail on wide pine treads, seat at the bottom

Government Addition, OK Installed March 2026

A 1931 craftsman bungalow in the Government Addition with 13 wide pine treads and a dark hardwood open-tread staircase. Mrs. Finley was certain any stairlift would require removing spindles or drilling through the banister. We mounted the straight rail entirely into the stair treads on the right side — the banister was never touched. The beige seat parks unfolded at the bottom landing in the warm-toned foyer, ready to ride. Her neighbor came for coffee the following week and asked if she’d had work done on the stairs. The lift was parked right there.

Meadowbrook split-level — curved rail bending around the upper landing half-wall

Meadowbrook, OK Installed February 2026

A 1964 split-level in Meadowbrook with a 90-degree landing turn and an upper hallway framed by a half-wall balustrade. Mr. Calhoun is a retired Vance AFB maintenance instructor with a bilateral knee injury. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a single curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the upper floor, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top landing where it’s out of the walkway. A chandelier hangs in the stairwell and framed photos line the wall beside the rail. His HISA grant covered $6,800; financing covered the balance at $79/month.

Kenwood historic home — straight rail in a compact stairway beside a wooden sideboard

Kenwood, OK Installed January 2026

A post-war brick home in the Kenwood historic district with stone-look tile treads, a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the base of the stairs, and a compact traditional layout typical of the neighborhood’s older homes. Mrs. Oglesby’s hip replacement at INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital in December had left her unable to manage the stairs. We bolted the straight rail into the solid treads in the tight space next to the cabinet. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the bottom beside the sideboard, folding up to keep the passage clear. Cozy cottage proportions, fully functional.

Indian Hills raised entry — outdoor rail on stone-paved porch steps, weather-sealed

Indian Hills, OK Installed December 2025

A brick home in Indian Hills with a raised entry and rough natural stone paving on the porch steps — the only way up to the front door. The adult children, managing from Wichita and Oklahoma City, worried about their father navigating those steps during Garfield County’s January ice storms. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone-paved treads with weather-rated expansion bolts and installed a cream weather-resistant seat that handles the full northwest Oklahoma climate range. The seat parks at the covered porch landing beside the front door. Mr. Reeves rides it from the driveway to his entry twice a day, ice or shine.

Willowood 1960s ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs, ADvantage Waiver funded

Willowood, OK Installed November 2025

A 1963 ranch in Willowood with a 12-step carpeted staircase and a landing area with tiled floor at the bottom. Mrs. Harrington had been assessed for Oklahoma ADvantage Waiver benefits through Oklahoma Human Services after a stroke. We bolted the rail through the carpet directly into the subtread — no carpet removal needed. The brown-upholstered seat matches the warm carpet tones, and the landing area gives her a level surface to step onto. Her case manager at OKDHS added the stairlift to her plan of care as an environmental modification. SoonerCare covered the full $6,000 allowance. Mrs. Harrington contributed nothing out of pocket.

Platform Lift

Vance AFB area two-story — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a service-connected veteran

Vance AFB area, OK Installed October 2025

A raised-entry home west of Enid near the Vance AFB perimeter where Mr. Stafford, a Vance retiree with a service-connected back injury, returned home in a power wheelchair and could not safely transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift alongside the existing staircase, with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges around the perimeter per ADA standards, and a white handrail. The orange-toned interior walls and a window beside the stairway frame the unit. His HISA prescription from the VA covered $6,800. He now rides from the ground floor to the upper hallway without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Enid Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Enid, OK right now?

Straight rails in standard Enid homes — the Government Addition craftsmans, the Indian Hills brick two-stories, the 1960s builds in Willowood and Meadowbrook — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which the Meadowbrook and Willowood split-levels often require, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase. Outdoor models for raised entries near the Vance corridor run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is Enid pricing the same as OKC or Tulsa?

Equipment pricing is the same statewide — we don’t apply city-size adjustments in either direction. What varies slightly is the labor estimate for unusual conditions: the narrow 30-inch staircases in the original 1920s Government Addition builds, or curved-rail fabrication for Meadowbrook split-levels. We list every variable on the written quote before you sign anything.

Is a stairlift cheaper than selling and moving to a single-story?

Moving in the current Garfield County market — agent commission, closing costs, finding a comparable single-story, moving expenses — typically runs $15,000 to $30,000 and disrupts 50 or 60 years of established life. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500. Most Enid families have already done the math when we arrive. We just confirm it.

Do you charge extra for ADvantage Waiver billing paperwork?

No. Submitting credentialing information to the MCO, coordinating with the OKDHS case manager, and handling prior authorization under the Oklahoma ADvantage Waiver is standard on every qualifying install in Garfield County. We’ve been through this process many times. Zero added charge.

A word from Luis

Enid is a working town with deep roots — the farming families in Government Addition who built their homes in the 1930s and aren’t leaving, the Vance AFB retirees who’ve been in Indian Hills since 1978, the grandparent alone in a two-story in Kenwood whose kids are calling from Wichita or Dallas asking what to do.

I come to you — within 24 hours — measure the staircase with a laser, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. No sales script. No pressure. If a grant covers part of it, I tell you that on the first visit. Every time.
