Straight Stairlift

The workhorse of Dallas two-story homes — from Lake Highlands ranches to Frisco new builds.

Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in Dallas County and the Collin County corridor are this model. A single straight run, the rail bolts directly into your stair treads (never into the wall or banister), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through the next ice storm or hail-driven outage. Most Dallas installs wrap in under four hours from when the truck pulls up.

Starting at $3,200 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls
  • Soft start and soft stop motion
  • Fold-up seat, arms, and footrest

Stairlift Service Across Dallas County

Dallas County, TX

From Highland Park and Preston Hollow pre-war estates to the 1920s Tudor and craftsman homes of the M Streets, Lakewood, and Lower Greenville — where the stairs are narrow, steep, and carved from oak that's been in the family since FDR — our team has mapped every housing stock in the county. We know the 1960s North Dallas and Lake Highlands brick ranch split-levels that need a swivel-exit seat at the half-landing, the Oak Cliff post-war ranches where the Spanish-language consultation matters more than the measurements, and the Bishop Arts bungalows where raised front entries need outdoor platform lifts sealed against May hail.

Because DFW sprawls across three counties, we also staff dedicated technicians for the far-north corridor — Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and Allen — so you're never waiting on a tech driving up from South Dallas at rush hour. Collin County permits and HOA paperwork are handled by the same tech who walks your stairs.

Pre-war Highland Park estate — curved rail threaded past carved oak balusters

Highland Park, TX Installed March 2026

A 1928 Mediterranean in Highland Park with a sweeping curved staircase and an original oak balustrade the family refused to let us touch. We laser-scanned the geometry on the first visit, brought finish samples back for Mrs. Armstrong to hold against the oak in afternoon light, and manufactured a curved rail that threads past every carved baluster without so much as a scratch on the original millwork. The rail parks flush at the upper landing so her morning walk to the bedroom is one smooth swivel exit.

1935 M Streets Tudor — slim rail for a narrow oak staircase

M Streets (Greenland Hills), TX Installed February 2026

A 1935 Tudor on a shady block of the M Streets with a steep, narrow staircase and the original oak handrail screwed into the plaster wall. Mr. Kowalski's biggest worry was that a rail would cut the already-tight width. We specified our slimmest-profile rail, mounted it on the wall-side of the treads at the exact angle of the old handrail, and added a folding footrest so the chair tucks flush when parked. Everyone in the house can still pass by on foot.

Lake Highlands 1960s split-level — swivel-exit seat for the half-landing

Lake Highlands, TX Installed January 2026

A classic 1966 Lake Highlands brick ranch with a split-level layout and a half-landing that made stepping off at the top feel precarious — Mrs. Thornton's late husband had fallen there in 2022. We installed a straight rail with the swivel-exit seat option, which rotates 90° at the upper landing so she steps out onto flat hallway floor instead of the top tread. One detail, one fall prevented. Her daughter flew in from Austin for install day and left the same evening.

Preston Hollow two-landing curve — bilingual consultation with the whole family

Preston Hollow, TX Installed December 2025

A Preston Hollow home with two landings on the way up and three generations living under one roof. The entire first consultation happened in Spanish because that was the only language Sra. Treviño's mother was comfortable making decisions in. Luis walked her through every button twice, at her pace. The curved rail we fabricated threads past both landings in one continuous sweep, so Abuela never has to transfer between seats.

Frisco new-build vaulted foyer — low-profile rail, Collin County permit

Frisco (Collin County), TX Installed November 2025

A 2016 two-story in a Frisco master-planned HOA with a wide open foyer and a staircase tall enough that a straight rail still ran 17 feet. Mr. Patel's parents had moved in from Mumbai the previous month and needed a solution before the Texas winter. We submitted the Chapter 202 accessibility paperwork to the HOA architectural review committee, pulled the electrical permit through Collin County, and installed the slim-profile rail in neutral tan so it reads as furniture, not medical equipment. Approved to installed in 11 days.

Bishop Arts raised bungalow — hail-rated outdoor lift for the front entry

Bishop Arts / North Oak Cliff, TX Installed October 2025

A 1925 raised Oak Cliff bungalow in the Bishop Arts District with six exterior stairs up to the front porch — more than Mr. Garrett could manage on his worst arthritis days. We installed an outdoor straight rail with the full hail package: marine-grade upholstery that recovers from impact dents, a sealed weather hood over the motor housing, and UV-stabilized seat material rated to 2,000+ hours of Texas sun. It rode through the April 2024 hailstorm that totaled two cars on his block without a single service call.

Common Questions

Everything Dallas Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Dallas right now?

Straight rails in typical Dallas-area two-story homes run $2,900 to $5,600 installed. Curved rails — the rule rather than the exception in Highland Park, Preston Hollow, the M Streets, and 1940s Lakewood Tudors — run $9,200 to $15,500 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Hail-rated outdoor and weather-sealed models for raised entries in Bishop Arts, Oak Cliff, and East Dallas run $4,200 to $7,800. Every written quote is honored for 30 days and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Dallas than in Houston or Austin?

Equipment pricing is the same across Texas — we don't mark up quotes for a Highland Park or Preston Hollow ZIP code. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: historic banister preservation in 1920s M Streets Tudors, Collin County HOA submission windows in Plano and Frisco, and hail-season rush installs after a major May storm. Every line item is on the quote. No surprise 'Park Cities premiums.'

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Dallas assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and handles most of our Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove, and East Dallas calls personally. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. It's how we should have always done business in this city.

Are there any hidden HOA fees in Plano, Frisco, or the Park Cities?

Our quote already includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. Texas Property Code Chapter 202 requires Texas HOAs to approve reasonable accessibility modifications, and we have templated submission packets on file for the major HOAs in Plano, Frisco, Preston Hollow, and Highland Park. What can occasionally add a small cost is when an architectural review committee requires its own engineer's letter — if that happens, we tell you before we start the project, not after.

A word from Luis

Most Dallas families call me after a near-miss on the stairs — a Lakewood Tudor with a steep 1930s oak tread, a Preston Hollow parent who hasn't been upstairs since a hip replacement, a daughter in California worried about her father in a Lake Highlands split-level.

My promise is simple: I'll be at your door inside 24 hours, I'll measure once, and the written quote is good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
