Stairlift Service Across Summit County

Summit County, OH

The Portage Trail corridor and Front Street District hold Cuyahoga Falls' oldest housing — 1920s two-stories with steep risers and original woodwork. Our rail bolts into the treads, never into the wall or millwork. Graham Road's postwar Cape Cods often have tight turns at the top and low head clearance on the upper landing. The State Road corridor toward Stow has 1960s split-levels that almost always need a curved rail for the mid-landing. Homes near the Silver Lake border have wider staircases where aesthetics matter — we bring finish samples to every first visit. Throughout the Waterloo Road and East Bailey neighborhoods, exterior concrete steps are common, and our outdoor weather-sealed rail handles Ohio winters without a service call.

1930s Portage Trail colonial — rail matched to original oak banister

Portage Trail, OH Installed March 2026

A 1934 colonial on Portage Trail with original oak treads and a turned banister the family had no intention of altering. Mrs. Whitmore's daughter called from Cleveland after her mother's second fall on the steep lower three steps. We arrived Tuesday, brought finish samples on the first visit, matched the rail color to the original oak grain, and bolted into the treads without touching a single spindle. The folding seat leaves full stair width for visitors. Mrs. Whitmore has been sleeping upstairs every night since.

Graham Road Cape Cod — curved rail with 90° turn at the upper landing

Graham Road Corridor, OH Installed February 2026

A 1951 Cape Cod on Graham Road where the staircase makes a 90-degree turn at the upper hallway before reaching the bedrooms. The Callahans' standard-width stairs had a pendant light fixture near the curve and a half-wall balustrade along the upper landing. We digitally scanned the geometry, fabricated a curved rail that clears the pendant and threads past the balustrade, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the upper floor where it swivels for a safe step-off onto the hallway carpet. The whole install finished before lunch.

Front Street District bungalow — compact straight rail beside the entry credenza

Front Street District, OH Installed January 2026

A 1938 bungalow near the Front Street District with stone-tiled treads, a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs, and a compact stairwell the family worried was too narrow for a lift. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on a slim-profile straight rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the sideboard by two inches, and drilled into the stone treads with masonry anchors. The cottage-style interior is unchanged — visitors still pass on the stairs without turning sideways.

Waterloo Road raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

Waterloo Road corridor, OH Installed December 2025

The Brennan family's raised ranch on Waterloo Road had seven exterior steps from the driveway to the covered front porch — rough natural stone paving at the base and a carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom step. Mr. Brennan, a Gulf-era veteran, qualified for a VA HISA grant through the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA. We installed the cream-colored weather-sealed seat on a hot-dip galvanized rail anchored into the stone paving, fitted the freeze-thaw gasket kit, and had the outdoor lift running before the first November freeze.

Silver Lake border bungalow — straight rail on original carpeted stairs

Silver Lake border, OH Installed November 2025

A 1940s bungalow near the Silver Lake boundary with original brown carpet on 12 treads running from the front landing up to the bedrooms. Mr. Hendricks had a knee replacement scheduled at Cleveland Clinic Akron General and wanted the lift in place before he came home. We drilled through the carpet into the wood substructure, mounted the brown-upholstered seat that practically disappears against the matching carpet tones, and added the swivel-exit at the upper landing. He rode it home from the hospital a week later without touching a single stair.

Platform Lift

East Bailey home — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran who uses a power chair

East Bailey, OH Installed October 2025

Mr. Garner is a disabled veteran who uses a power wheelchair after a service-connected spinal injury. His East Bailey home has a half-flight between the main level and the upstairs bedrooms — too short for a traditional elevator, too steep for a ramp. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat black anti-slip deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The platform folds against the orange-toned wall when not in use. His VA HISA grant through the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA covered the majority of the cost. He rolls onto the platform, rides to the upper hallway, and sleeps in his own bedroom every night.

Common Questions

Everything Cuyahoga Falls Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Cuyahoga Falls right now?

Straight rails in standard Cuyahoga Falls homes — the Cape Cods on Graham Road, the Portage Trail colonials, the State Road area two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for split-level layouts with mid-landing turns (common in the eastern sections of Cuyahoga Falls and near Stow), run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for concrete front steps and raised entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and covers installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is a refurbished stairlift worth considering in Cuyahoga Falls?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30-40% off a new install — we carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never an option because the rail is custom-manufactured to a specific staircase geometry. If your Cuyahoga Falls home has a standard straight run, ask during the assessment. We'll tell you honestly whether the cost savings make sense for your situation.

Are there hidden fees for older homes in Cuyahoga Falls?

Our quote covers everything: rail, seat, installation labor, battery backup, and the first service visit. The one add-on we occasionally see in prewar Cuyahoga Falls homes along Portage Trail and the Front Street corridor is a dedicated electrical circuit when the existing outlet near the base of the stairs can't handle the load. If that applies, we tell you during the assessment — not after we've started work. A new circuit adds $200-$400 and is handled by our licensed electrician.

Does Ohio's cost of living make stairlifts more affordable here than in Cleveland?

Equipment prices are identical across Summit County — we don't vary pricing by ZIP code. What differs slightly is labor for unusual installs: preserving original banister millwork in pre-1940 Portage Trail homes, compensating rail mounts for century-old tread wear, or outdoor rail work on steep riverside properties. Those are itemized separately in every quote so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

A word from Luis

Most of my Cuyahoga Falls calls come from adult children — a daughter in Columbus who noticed her father hasn't been sleeping upstairs for months, a son who flew in for the holidays and found the stair landing converted into a makeshift bedroom. The house is usually a 1940s or 1950s two-story that the family has lived in for decades.

My job is straightforward: I drive out within 24 hours, measure the staircase once with a laser, and hand you a written quote that's good for 30 days. You decide on your timeline. No pressure, no follow-up calls until you're ready.
