Stairlift Service Across Anoka County

Anoka County, MN

Northtown subdivisions from the late 1950s and 1960s — the original Orrin Thompson ramblers and split-levels — have narrow stairwells and 100-amp panels that often need a dedicated circuit before install. Sand Creek and Hanson Boulevard homes from the 1990s–2000s have wide carpeted stairs where a straight rail installs in under three hours. Riverdale raised ranches along the Mississippi collect ice on outdoor entry steps from November through March — our weather-sealed outdoor units are cold-rated to −30°F. Bunker Hills west of Foley Boulevard has 1970s bi-levels with tight stairwells that require our slim-profile seat. Crooked Lake walkout lower levels with rear patio stairs need weather-sealed outdoor units. We also cover Blaine, Champlin, Anoka, Spring Lake Park, Andover, and Brooklyn Park at the same rate.

Straight

Crooked Lake rambler — straight rail on dark oak basement stairs

Crooked Lake, MN Installed December 2025

A 1966 rambler near Crooked Lake with a single straight run of 12 dark hardwood steps down to the basement laundry. Mr. Haugen is 84 and does his own laundry — he was not about to stop. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing, the rail bolts into the open oak treads on the right side, and the warm residential lighting makes the unit blend into the stairwell. Three hours start to finish, and he ran his first load that afternoon.

Northtown split-level — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Northtown, MN Installed March 2026

A 1963 Thompson-built split-level near Northtown with a half-flight up and a half-flight down separated by a 90° landing turn. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the upper landing, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top floor where Mrs. Novak steps off onto the hallway. Framed art on the stairwell walls and a chandelier above the landing stayed untouched. The house settled a quarter inch over 60 years on Minnesota clay — we shimmed the rail brackets to compensate.

Sand Creek two-story — compact stairway beside the foyer cabinet

Sand Creek, MN Installed February 2026

A 2004 two-story off Hanson Boulevard with stone-look tile treads and a compact stairway next to a wooden sideboard in the foyer. Mrs. Bergstrom wanted the lift working before her husband came home from hip surgery at Mercy Hospital. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the bottom landing beside the cabinet and a potted plant, folding flat so the grandchildren still pass without squeezing. A cozy traditional interior where every inch counted, and the slim-profile rail delivered.

Bunker Hills raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone steps

Bunker Hills, MN Installed November 2025

A 1975 raised ranch west of Foley Boulevard with a stone-paved front entry that climbs seven outdoor steps — steps that collect ice from November through March. Mr. Larson is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Minneapolis VA. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat rides up to the covered porch under natural daylight. Every bracket is sealed against Minnesota snowmelt, and a heated rail joint cover prevents ice buildup at the pivot point. It ran through a full Minnesota winter without a single freeze-related service call.

Riverdale bi-level — straight rail on carpeted stairs to the upper landing

Riverdale, MN Installed January 2026

A 1972 bi-level along the Mississippi in Riverdale with carpet-covered treads and a landing area between the lower family room and upper kitchen. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones and rides a straight rail from the tiled floor at the bottom to the carpeted upper landing. Mr. Knutson's daughter in Des Moines joined the assessment by FaceTime. Wall-mounted light switches stayed untouched — the rail bolts into the treads only, never the walls.

Platform Lift

Hanson Boulevard ranch — indoor wheelchair platform lift for full-time chair user

Hanson Boulevard, MN Installed October 2025

Mrs. Peterson uses a wheelchair full-time after knee replacement complications and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway between the main floor and the lower level — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail. The orange-toned walls of the stairwell frame the unit, and a window provides natural light on the ride down. She rolls on at the top, rides to the lower level, and rolls off independently. No transfers, no lifting.

Common Questions

Everything Coon Rapids Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Coon Rapids right now?

Straight rails in standard Coon Rapids homes — the newer two-stories along Sand Creek, the ramblers with a single basement run near Crooked Lake, the post-2000 builds off Hanson Boulevard — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most Orrin Thompson split-levels around Northtown and Riverdale where the landing turn makes a straight run impossible, cost $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised entries and front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, cold-rated battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in the north metro than Minneapolis?

Equipment prices are the same across Minnesota — we don't inflate quotes based on zip code or distance from downtown. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: fabricating a curved rail for a split-level with a tight landing turn, running a new dedicated circuit in a 1960s Thompson rambler with the original 100-amp panel, or compensating rail mounts for foundation-settled treads in older Northtown homes. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise premiums.

Does the Elderly Waiver really cover a stairlift?

Yes. Minnesota's Elderly Waiver covers stairlifts under the Environmental Accessibility Adaptations (EAA) service category with a $20,000 lifetime cap — enough for most curved-rail installs. You need to be 65+, Medicaid-eligible, and assessed at nursing-facility level of care through a MnCHOICES assessment coordinated by Anoka County. The starting point is the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433. We prepare the EAA justification packet for your county care coordinator — that's the step where most families get stuck.

Any hidden fees for townhome or 55+ community installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. Minnesota's Common Interest Ownership Act (Chapter 515B) and federal Fair Housing Act require reasonable accommodation for residents with documented disabilities. We've worked with townhome associations across Coon Rapids's newer developments along Hanson Boulevard and the 55+ communities in the north metro. We prepare the accommodation packet with medical-necessity letter at no charge.

A word from Luis

Most Coon Rapids families call me after the same conversation — a parent who hasn't used the basement family room since last winter, a slip on the half-flight coming up from the foyer in one of those 1960s Orrin Thompson split-levels, a daughter in Chicago who just found out her father has been doing laundry one step at a time while gripping the handrail with both hands.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
