Stairlift Service Across Anoka County

Anoka County, MN

From the 1980s split-levels in Northwood — where the classic Blaine floor plan of half-flight up, half-flight down, and a landing turn in the middle defines almost every block — to the newer two-stories in Autumn Woods and The Lakes where wide carpeted stairs and standard geometry make for a three-hour install, our team has mapped every neighborhood in the city. We know which Sunrise Park bi-levels have the narrow stairwells with original wood paneling that require a slim-profile rail, which Radisson homes near TPC Twin Cities have the wide-open stairways where aesthetics matter as much as function, and which townhome associations along 109th Avenue need the HOA accommodation packet before install day.

Northwood rambler — beige seat on original dark oak treads

Northwood, MN Installed March 2026

A 1982 rambler in Northwood with original dark oak treads running from the main floor down to the basement family room. Mr. Erickson had been sleeping on the main-floor couch since October because the basement bedroom was unreachable after back surgery. We bolted the straight rail into the hardwood treads on the right side, color-matched the beige seat to the warm oak tones, and left the original banister untouched on the opposite wall. He rode it downstairs that evening and slept in his own bed for the first time in five months.

The Lakes two-story — curved rail bending around the upper-floor half-wall

The Lakes, MN Installed February 2026

A 2004 two-story in The Lakes with a staircase that curves 90° around a half-wall balustrade at the upper landing. Mrs. Johansson’s husband had knee replacement surgery scheduled and she wanted the lift working before he came home from North Memorial. We laser-scanned the full curve, fabricated a single continuous rail that bends around the half-wall, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the upper floor so he steps off directly onto the hallway. The modern interior stayed intact — no walls drilled, no framed art moved.

Sunrise Park bi-level — slim-profile rail next to original wood paneling

Sunrise Park, MN Installed January 2026

A 1977 bi-level in Sunrise Park with a short straight run of seven treads from the foyer up to the living area. The stairwell was narrow — original wood paneling on the left, a half-wall with a wooden cap on the right — and Mr. Vang was concerned the chair would block the hallway. We mounted the rail on the inside wall and fitted the slim-profile seat that folds flush against the paneling. His daughter brought the kids over that weekend and they ran past it without a second look.

Outdoor

North-facing raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor lift rated to -30°F

National Sports Center Area, MN Installed December 2025

A 1990 rambler near 105th Avenue with a raised front entry — seven concrete steps from the driveway to the front door, a north-facing exposure that collects ice from November through March. Mrs. Swenson slipped on those steps during a December freezing rain and fractured her elbow. The outdoor lift is sealed against Minnesota humidity, UV-coated, and anchored into the stone paving with cold-rated stainless hardware. The cold-pack battery ran through the entire winter including the February cold snap without a service call.

Radisson two-story — brown seat on carpeted stairs near TPC course

Radisson, MN Installed November 2025

A 1996 two-story in the Radisson neighborhood near the TPC Twin Cities golf course with 13 carpeted treads running from the great room to the upstairs bedrooms. Mrs. Bergstrom’s concern was aesthetics — she hosts family dinners every Sunday. We installed the brown-upholstered seat that blends with the neutral carpet tones, mounted the rail so the chair parks flat against the wall at the bottom landing, and demonstrated the fold-up footrest. Her son-in-law came for dinner the following Sunday and didn’t mention the lift until she brought it up.

Platform Lift

Lakes District walkout — indoor wheelchair platform on a half-flight to the patio level

The Lakes, MN Installed October 2025

A 2001 home in The Lakes with a walkout lower level — six steps from the main living area down to the family room and patio exit. Mr. Kowalski uses a power wheelchair after a stroke and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat anti-slip surface and yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway. The safety rail folds down when not in use so the stairway stays passable. His Elderly Waiver EAA benefit through Anoka County covered the full cost.

Common Questions

Everything Blaine Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Blaine right now?

Straight rails in standard Blaine homes — the ramblers in Northwood, the two-stories in Autumn Woods, the newer builds in The Lakes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you’ll need for most 1980s split-entries in Sunrise Park, Northwood, and the older subdivisions west of Lexington Avenue where the landing turn makes a straight run impossible, cost $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised entries and front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, cold-rated battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Blaine than Minneapolis or Edina?

Equipment prices are the same across Minnesota — we don’t inflate quotes based on zip code. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: compensating rail mounts for foundation-settled treads in older Northwood split-levels, running a new dedicated circuit in homes with original 100-amp panels, or fabricating a curved rail for a bi-level with a tight landing turn. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise premiums.

Does the Elderly Waiver really cover a stairlift?

Yes. Minnesota’s Elderly Waiver covers stairlifts under the Environmental Accessibility Adaptations (EAA) service category with a $20,000 lifetime cap — enough for most curved-rail installs. You need to be 65+, Medicaid-eligible, and assessed at nursing-facility level of care through a MnCHOICES assessment coordinated by Anoka County. The starting point is the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433. We prepare the EAA justification packet for your county care coordinator — that’s the step where most families get stuck.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift a good option in Minnesota?

For straight interior staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30-40% — we carry factory-reconditioned rails with new upholstery, new cold-rated batteries, and a 2-year warranty. We replace every battery to our -30°F cold-pack spec before selling any refurbished unit in Minnesota, because factory-default batteries are not rated for Twin Cities winters. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never available because the rail is custom to each staircase.

A word from Luis

Most Blaine families call me after the same thing — a slip on the split-level stairs in a Northwood rambler, a parent who hasn’t been downstairs to the family room since Thanksgiving, a son in Colorado who just learned his mother has been sleeping on the main-floor couch because the bedroom stairs are too much after hip surgery.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
