Stairlift Service Across Cuyahoga County

Cuyahoga County, OH

We cover every Cleveland neighborhood and the surrounding inner-ring Cuyahoga County suburbs. In Ohio City and Tremont, most calls involve original banister preservation — we've threaded rails past century-old newel posts on both Lorain Avenue and Professor Avenue without leaving a mark. In Detroit-Shoreway, the narrow Victorian staircases often require our slim-profile rail, which we keep in stock for this part of town. University Circle properties near Case Western are often multi-story with tight stair configurations where curved rail is more common than anywhere else in the metro. In Old Brooklyn and Slavic Village, straight-run installs are the norm — clean, fast, and ready the same week you call. We also serve Newburgh Heights, Garfield Heights, Brooklyn, and the balance of inner-ring suburbs on the same scheduling track.

1910 Ohio City double — rail fitted between original oak treads

Ohio City, OH Installed March 2026

A 1910 Ohio City two-family with original narrow-cut oak treads the family had refinished twice in the past decade. The staircase was 28 inches wide — workable, but barely. Luis selected the slim-profile rail, bolted entirely into the tread surface without touching the risers or the dark hardwood banister, and finished in three and a half hours. The rail finish was matched to the stained oak, and the parked chair sits flush against the wall at the bottom landing.

90° mid-landing turn in a University Circle three-story

University Circle, OH Installed February 2026

A substantial University Circle home with three floors and a quarter-turn landing between the first and second stories. Mrs. Ostrowski's mobility had been declining since a hip replacement the prior winter, and her physical therapist flagged the landing turn as the highest fall-risk point. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a custom curved rail threading past the original newel post, and the swivel seat exits onto the upper landing rather than the top tread. Framed art on the wall and the chandelier above were untouched throughout the install.

Slavic Village bungalow — straight rail over stone treads in a compact traditional interior

Slavic Village, OH Installed January 2026

A 1930s Slavic Village bungalow with stone-and-tile treads on the interior staircase and a compact traditional layout — a wooden sideboard against the wall at the base of the stairs and a potted plant on the landing. Two previous quotes had recommended replacing the stone treads entirely. We confirmed the treads were level, bolted the straight rail directly into the stone with masonry anchors, and left the cottage-style interior untouched. Mrs. Novotný rides between floors independently for the first time in two years.

Slavic Village raised porch — outdoor lift over stone paver steps at the front entry

Slavic Village, OH Installed December 2025

A 1930s Slavic Village home with a raised front porch and seven natural stone paver steps from the sidewalk to the front door. Mr. Popovich, a 78-year-old Korean War veteran, had been entering through the back because the stone front steps were too risky. We mounted the outdoor rail on stainless-steel brackets anchored directly into the stone paving, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and installed the cream-colored weather-resistant seat that blends with the porch trim. The carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom provides a level boarding surface. Mr. Popovich uses his own front door again.

Old Brooklyn split-level — straight rail on wall-to-wall carpet

Old Brooklyn, OH Installed November 2025

A 1957 Old Brooklyn split-level with wall-to-wall carpet on every tread and a straight run from the entry landing up to the bedrooms. Mr. Horváth's Parkinson's diagnosis had made the carpeted stairs dangerous — he could no longer gauge the tread edges. We bolted the rail through the carpet into the plywood subtread, and the brown upholstery on the seat matches the carpet tones almost exactly. Tiled floor at the bottom landing gives him a clean step-off point. Mr. Horváth rides between floors on his own again.

Platform Lift

Detroit-Shoreway Victorian — indoor wheelchair platform lift between split levels

Detroit-Shoreway, OH Installed October 2025

A Detroit-Shoreway Victorian with a five-step interior split between the main living area and the bedrooms — too short for a conventional stairlift, too tall for an indoor ramp. Mr. Malone, a wheelchair user after his bariatric surgery and extended recovery, could not transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined indoor wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges around the perimeter, and a white handrail. The orange-toned walls and window beside the stairway stayed untouched. The platform carries Mr. Malone and his wheelchair between levels in under 30 seconds.

Common Questions

Everything Cleveland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Cleveland right now?

Straight-rail installs in standard Cleveland two-stories run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for Ohio City or Tremont homes with a mid-landing or 90° turn — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase. Outdoor cold-weather models for raised entries and deck access run $4,000 to $7,500 with our standard -10°F battery spec. Every quote is written, itemized, and honored for 30 days.

Do Cleveland home prices affect what I'll pay for a stairlift?

No. Equipment pricing is the same whether you're in a University Circle Victorian or an Old Brooklyn ranch. What varies is labor complexity — a 27-inch-wide Tremont staircase with a curved turn takes longer than a straight Old Brooklyn run. We show you the labor line item upfront so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Is financing available if I can't pay the full amount upfront?

Yes. Three lending partners offer 0% APR for qualified buyers and fixed-rate plans starting at $79/month. The application is a soft credit pull — no impact on your score — and takes about four minutes. Many Cleveland homeowners combine financing with a partial Ohio PASSPORT grant or VA HISA credit to reduce the monthly payment further.

Are there any surprise charges for older Cleveland homes?

The only potential add-on for older homes is banister-preservation work if you want original millwork re-secured after the rail is mounted. That's disclosed in writing before any work starts. Stairlift rails bolt into your stair treads — never into walls or banisters — so in most cases there is nothing to restore.

A word from Luis

Cleveland homes keep me honest. You've got 1890s Tremont walk-ups where the staircase is 27 inches wide, 1920s Ohio City doubles with original oak treads nobody wants to touch, and 1950s Old Brooklyn ranches with a single straight run that's done in three hours flat. I've been in over 400 Cuyahoga County homes — I know which block is going to give me a tight newel post and which one is going to be textbook.

That experience is the difference between a four-hour install and a two-day headache. When your mother calls because she fell on the top step last Tuesday, I don't need to study your staircase — I've already measured one like it on the same street. I show up, I measure, I hand you a written price, and I leave. No callbacks, no pressure, no surprises on install day.
