Stairlift Service Across Jefferson County

Jefferson County, AL

Center Point's housing tells the story of Birmingham's postwar eastern expansion across Jefferson County. Along Polly Reed Road and 1st Way NW, brick ranches from the 1960s and 1970s have full basements with steep interior stairs — our most common install type. Near Center Point Park, split-level homes from the 1970s need curved rails to wrap quarter-landing turns. The Centerpoint Parkway corridor (Highway 75) holds older two-story colonials where straight runs of 14 to 16 steps are standard. Toward the Clay and Pinson borders, newer 1990s construction features wider treads and open foyers. We also serve Irondale, Gardendale, Leeds, Trussville, Roebuck, and Huffman — all within 15 minutes of Center Point.

Polly Reed Road brick ranch — straight rail on original pine treads

Polly Reed Road, AL Installed March 2026

A 1967 brick ranch on Polly Reed Road with steep pine treads running from the entry foyer up to the bedrooms. The Brooks family needed access from the main level up to Mr. Brooks's bedroom and the upstairs bath. We used clean-bore brackets, matched the rail finish to the wood tone, and the beige seat parks flat at the bottom landing. Mr. Brooks rode up to his own bed by lunchtime.

Center Point Park split-level — curved rail around a 90° upper-landing turn

Center Point Park, AL Installed February 2026

A 1974 split-level near Center Point Park with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The Franklins' stair is typical Jefferson County split-level — barely 34 inches between banister post and wall. We laser-scanned the geometry, fabricated the curved rail to the exact turn radius, and the brown seat parks at the upper landing. Two other companies had declined the project, citing the tight turn.

Centerpoint Parkway cottage — straight rail beside a sideboard on stone-tile treads

Centerpoint Parkway, AL Installed January 2026

A small older home along the Centerpoint Parkway corridor with light stone-tile treads on a tight interior stair next to a wooden sideboard at the bottom landing. The brown seat matches the earthy stone. We bolted the rail into the tile treads with masonry anchors, kept the seat profile slim so Mrs. Patterson can still reach her sideboard, and finished by midmorning. The compact space had discouraged a previous company from bidding.

1st Way NW ranch — outdoor lift on flagstone porch entry with cream seat

1st Way NW, AL Installed December 2025

A raised front porch on 1st Way NW with six flagstone steps between the carport and the front door. Mr. Collins had been using the carport side entrance — no stairs, but 40 feet through the garage every trip. We mounted the outdoor rail on the flagstone with stainless anchors, sealed the IP55 motor, and fitted a cream UV-resistant seat rated for Alabama humidity. He uses his own front door again.

Near Clay border — straight rail on carpeted stairs to upper bedrooms

Clay border, AL Installed November 2025

A 1988 two-story near the Clay border with carpeted stairs from the tiled ground-floor entry up to the bedrooms. The carpet-covered treads are warm brown and the brown seat blends right in near the upper landing. Mrs. Williams had hip replacement surgery six days before the call. The 15-foot run with consistent riser heights was one of our fastest Center Point installs. She slept upstairs that same night.

Pinson border split-level — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift, 600 lb

Pinson border, AL Installed October 2025

A 1976 split-level near the Pinson border where Mr. Davis uses a power wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated lift. We installed an inclined platform — flat black anti-slip deck, yellow high-visibility safety edges, white handrail along the wall — on the indoor stair. The 600 lb-rated platform carries the wheelchair and rider between living level and upper bedrooms. Mr. Davis kept his home of 30 years.

Common Questions

Everything Center Point Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Center Point right now?

Straight rails in a standard Center Point home run $2,450 to $4,850 fully installed. Curved rails — needed for split-levels near Center Point Park and homes with quarter-landing turns along the Centerpoint Parkway corridor — run $7,900 to $13,200, because the rail is custom-fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Every quote is written, itemized, and honored for 30 days. The quote covers everything: rail, seat, installation labor, battery backup, and the first service visit. No separate line items added after you agree.

Why are Center Point stairlift prices different from what I see advertised?

Advertised stairlift prices typically quote equipment only — without installation labor, rail cutting, bracket hardware, battery backup, or the measurement visit. In Center Point, the installed cost also reflects staircase complexity: a steep basement run in a 1960s brick ranch on Polly Reed Road is a different project from a curved split-level near Center Point Park. Our written quote includes every cost. If you compare quotes between companies, make sure you are comparing installed totals, not equipment-only numbers.

Is the in-home assessment free?

Yes, completely free — no obligation. Luis measures your staircase, photographs the geometry, identifies whether you need a straight or curved rail, and leaves you with a written quote the same day. For curved-rail projects in Center Point's split-level homes near the park, that measurement data goes directly to fabrication — so it is a real working visit, not a sales presentation. You take the quote, review it at your own pace, and call us when you are ready.

Are there financing options for Center Point homeowners?

Yes. We work with three lending partners offering 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans starting from $79 per month. The credit application is a soft pull — no impact to your score — takes about four minutes, and typically returns a same-day decision. Many Center Point homeowners combine financing with VA HISA grant funds or Alabama E&D Waiver benefits to bring the net cost down. We model the math with you during the free assessment so you are not doing it alone.

A word from Luis

Center Point sits in northeastern Jefferson County where the housing stock is mostly 1960s through 1980s construction — brick ranches with finished basements along Polly Reed Road and 1st Way NW, split-levels near Center Point Park, and two-story colonials along the Centerpoint Parkway corridor on Highway 75. These homes were built for postwar families, not aging in place: narrow treads, tight quarter-landings, basement stairs with steep pitch. I've measured hundreds of these Jefferson County homes and know which rail type fits before I finish the first flight.

Center Point also has a meaningful veteran population — over 10% of residents have served — and many qualify for the VA HISA grant that covers up to $6,800 of the stairlift cost. The Birmingham VA Medical Center at 700 19th Street South handles these claims. I prefill the VA paperwork and follow up with the Birmingham VA directly. Alabama also runs the Elderly and Disabled (E&D) Medicaid Waiver that covers home modifications for qualifying residents — a funding path most families in Center Point never hear about from other installers.
