Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Milwaukee County

Milwaukee County, WI

From the post-war ranches and split-levels built during Brown Deer's 1950s and 1960s suburban expansion along West Dean Road and North 51st Street, to the Cape Cods and colonials near Brown Deer Park with their original hardwood staircases, our crew has measured stairs throughout the village. The Deerwood and Algonquin Park neighborhoods feature classic Milwaukee-area split-levels — half-flight stairs to the lower level, half-flight to the bedrooms — where a compact straight rail handles both runs. Homes along West Bradley Road and North Green Bay Avenue tend toward brick ranches with finished basements accessed by steep, narrow basement stairs. The area near the Brown Deer Park golf course and along North River Road has larger two-story homes from the 1970s with wider treads and open stairwells that simplify every install. Near the village's southern border with Granville, newer townhome developments mix split-entry layouts with standard straight runs.

Straight

1962 split-level on West Dean Road — dual compact straight rails on both half-flights

West Dean Road, WI Installed March 2026

A classic Brown Deer split-level on West Dean Road with two half-flights: seven steps up from the entry to the bedrooms, seven steps down to the family room and laundry. Mr. Kowalski had been sleeping in the recliner in the living room for a month after his hip replacement at Froedtert because both stair runs were off-limits. We installed two compact straight rails — one on each run — in a single morning. The brown-upholstered seats fold flat against the wall at each landing, leaving the hallway fully open. Mr. Kowalski rode both lifts before the crew left.

Brown Deer Park colonial — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Brown Deer Park, WI Installed February 2026

A two-story colonial near Brown Deer Park with nine steps from the front hall to a 90-degree landing, then seven more steps to the upstairs bedrooms. The Reinhardt family has lived here since 1974. We digitally scanned the entire run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mrs. Reinhardt from the front hall to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps onto hardwood instead of balancing on the top tread. Her VA provider at the Zablocki Medical Center wrote the HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800.

North 55th Street ranch — straight rail on steep basement stairs

North 55th Street, WI Installed January 2026

A 1960s brick ranch on North 55th Street with steep, narrow basement stairs — 32 inches wide with 12 treads and no intermediate landing. Mrs. Henderson uses the basement daily for laundry and her TV room but had been avoiding the stairs after a fall last September. We installed a slim-profile rail that takes up only 11 inches when the seat is folded, leaving 21 inches of clear passage. The rail bolts into the wooden treads — no wall anchoring needed. Luis walked Mrs. Henderson through every control at the kitchen table and she rode it down to start a load of laundry before he left.

West Bradley Road home — outdoor lift on concrete porch steps with heated rail

West Bradley Road, WI Installed November 2025

A two-story home on West Bradley Road with five poured-concrete front steps leading to the covered porch. Mr. Larsen hadn't used his own front door since September — his daughter had been picking him up from the garage side entrance for every appointment. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the bottom step, ready when he comes home. Every component is rated for Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles: cold-rated lubricant to minus 20 degrees, heated rail elements that prevent ice buildup, and marine-grade corrosion protection against the road salt that Milwaukee County trucks spread from November through March.

Algonquin Park Cape Cod — straight rail on original hardwood treads

Algonquin Park, WI Installed October 2025

A 1957 Cape Cod near Algonquin Park with original hardwood treads and a standard 36-inch-wide staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms. Mr. Wagner's son in Chicago called on Monday, we measured Tuesday morning, and the install crew arrived Thursday afternoon. The rail mounts flush against the wall on the right side, leaving the left banister fully open. We color-matched the track to the existing oak. The swivel seat at the top lets Mr. Wagner step off onto the landing facing the upstairs hallway. He was riding it by Thursday evening.

Platform Lift

North River Road home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

North River Road, WI Installed September 2025

A two-story home along North River Road where Mr. Carter uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury during his Army service. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered $6,800 and the IRIS waiver covered the remaining balance through his self-directed budget. Mr. Carter rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Brown Deer Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Brown Deer, WI?

Straight rails in Brown Deer homes — the split-levels along West Dean Road, the Cape Cods near Algonquin Park, the colonials by Brown Deer Park — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the larger two-story homes near the golf course or along North River Road with landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase's exact geometry. Outdoor models for front-entry steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Brown Deer prices different from Glendale or Mequon?

Equipment prices are identical across Milwaukee County — we do not adjust based on village or city size. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: steep basement stairs in older Brown Deer ranches, narrow split-level half-flights, or a longer curved rail in a two-story near the park. Those are actual labor differences, not upcharges. We list every line item on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Relocation costs in Milwaukee County — real estate commission, closing costs, moving crew, new deposits — run $15,000 to $35,000 minimum. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've lived in for decades, in the village you know, close to your doctors and your neighbors. For most Brown Deer families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Brown Deer homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, Wisconsin IRIS, or Family Care so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Brown Deer families usually call after a fall or a close call on the stairs — a grandmother who slipped on the hardwood in a ranch off West Dean Road, a father recovering from knee surgery at Froedtert who hasn't been upstairs in six weeks, a daughter in Chicago worried about her parents in the same split-level on North 51st Street they've owned since 1962.

I drive out, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
