A single straight run, the rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through the next winter power outage. Most Bremerton installs wrap in under four hours. Every motor housing ships sealed against Pacific Northwest moisture as baseline.

Stairlift Service Across Kitsap County

Kitsap County, WA

From Charleston — where the 1910s-1920s shipyard worker cottages have some of the steepest, narrowest interior stairways in Kitsap County, with original fir treads and barely 28 inches between the wall and the banister — to Manette, where the 1920s Craftsman homes have wider stairways with original woodwork and the occasional mid-landing turn that requires a curved rail, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in Bremerton. We know which Navy Yard City bungalows have the near-vertical basement stairs that need a specialized compact rail, which Eastside hillside homes have the steep exterior approach that requires outdoor hardware, and which Downtown Bremerton condos near the ferry terminal require building-management approval. Port Orchard across Sinclair Inlet and Silverdale to the north are within our same-day service radius — no travel fee, no delay.

1928 Charleston bungalow — beige seat on original dark fir treads

Charleston, WA Installed March 2026

A 1928 shipyard bungalow in Charleston with original dark fir treads and a narrow stairway built for workers heading to the second-floor bedrooms after a shift at PSNS. Mrs. Paulsen's husband retired from the shipyard in 2004 and passed away in 2022 — she refused to leave the house. We color-matched the rail to the aged fir, bolted into the treads without touching the banister, and parked the beige folding seat at the bottom landing. She uses it six times a day and says it gave her back the upstairs bedroom she'd abandoned for a year.

90° landing turn in a 1924 Manette Craftsman

Manette, WA Installed February 2026

A 1924 Craftsman in Manette with a wide stairway that makes a 90° turn at the upper landing — the kind of layout where a straight rail leaves you stranded at the turn. We digitally scanned the staircase during the first consultation, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the original newel post with two inches of clearance, and installed in one afternoon. Mr. Tanaka's father rides from the entry to the bedroom hallway in one smooth trip. The original woodwork is untouched.

Navy Yard City cottage — compact rail alongside built-in stairway storage

Navy Yard City, WA Installed January 2026

A 1940s Navy Yard City cottage with stone-look tile treads and a built-in wooden sideboard alongside the stairway — a storage feature common in the small shipyard homes of that era. Mrs. McCarthy's daughter wanted it preserved. We specified the slim-profile rail on the opposite side so the brown seat and folded footrest clear the sideboard by three inches. The compact rail fits the narrow stairwell and the quiet motor doesn't wake Mrs. McCarthy's husband napping in the front room.

Eastside hillside entry — marine-grade outdoor lift on stone steps

Eastside, WA Installed December 2025

An Eastside hillside home with seven stone paving steps from the street to the front door — exposed to Puget Sound rain year-round. Mr. Olsen is a retired Navy veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through VA Puget Sound. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back in five weeks, and the lift was installed the week after. Marine-grade epoxy coating on the rail, 316 stainless-steel fasteners anchored into the stone, and a sealed IP55 motor housing. Two Puget Sound winters in and no corrosion. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat rides from the sidewalk to the covered entry.

Westpark two-story — swivel-exit seat on carpeted stairs

Westpark, WA Installed November 2025

A two-story in the Westpark neighborhood with 14 carpeted treads and a standard residential landing at the top. Mrs. Rivera's biggest fear was stepping off at the upper landing — she has severe arthritis in her right knee and the pivot felt precarious every time. We installed the swivel-exit seat that rotates 90° at the top so she steps off facing the hallway, not the stairs. The rail bolts through the carpet into the subfloor with extended lag bolts and the brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tone.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform for a split-level entry transition

Eastside, WA Installed October 2025

The Nguyens' father uses a power wheelchair after a spinal injury during his Navy service and their split-level Eastside home has an interior stairway from the entry to the main floor. We installed an inclined platform lift with yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway, a fold-up deck when not in use, and a keyed call/send station so the rest of the family can operate it from either level. The platform carries 750 lbs and the yellow pressure-sensitive edges stop the lift instantly on contact. His HISA grant through VA Puget Sound covered most of the cost.

Common Questions

Everything Bremerton Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Kitsap County right now?

Straight rails in standard Bremerton homes — the Charleston bungalows, the Manette Craftsmans, the Eastside two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, common in Manette homes with mid-landing turns and any staircase with a 90° change, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for hillside entries and raised porches run $4,000 to $7,500 with marine-grade coating standard. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Bremerton than Seattle or Tacoma?

Equipment prices are the same across Washington. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: the near-vertical basement stairs in Navy Yard City worker cottages, preserving original fir banisters in 1920s Charleston homes, and the occasional hillside exterior approach where outdoor hardware needs custom mounting. We don't charge a 'ferry surcharge' or Kitsap premium. Line items are on every quote.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering in this rain climate?

For straight interior staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30-40% — we carry factory-reconditioned rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. We replace the motor seals on every refurbished unit sold in Kitsap County because the prior moisture exposure is unknown. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never an option. Ask during the assessment.

Any hidden fees for the older shipyard-era homes?

Our quote covers everything. The only add-on we occasionally see in older Charleston and Navy Yard City homes is a dedicated electrical circuit — some of these 1910s-1940s houses still have undersized panels. If needed, we tell you during the assessment. A new circuit adds $200-$400 and is handled by our Washington L&I-registered electrician.

A word from Luis

Most Kitsap families call me after something specific — a retired shipyard worker whose knees gave out after decades of Navy Yard stairs, a spouse sleeping in the downstairs recliner because the bedroom is up a flight that gets steeper every year, a daughter in Seattle who takes the ferry to check on her father in a Navy Yard City bungalow and worries about those stairs every crossing.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
