Stairlift Service Across Pierce County

Pierce County, WA

From the newer developments along Bonney Lake Heights and the Highlands — where two-story homes built in the 2000s dominate with standard straight staircases — to the established neighborhoods around Church Lake and Fennel Creek, our crew has measured staircases in every part of this community. Sky Island homes often feature split-level layouts from the 1970s and 1980s that require curved rails through mid-landing turns. The Sumner–Bonney Lake corridor along SR-410 includes raised-entry ramblers where outdoor lifts handle front porch steps. Lake Tapps waterfront properties frequently have steep exterior stairs from the driveway down to lake-level decks, and we spec marine-grade hardware for any install exposed to moisture and seasonal freeze-thaw cycles typical of the southern Puget Sound plateau.

2006 Highlands two-story — straight rail on carpeted treads

The Highlands, WA Installed March 2026

A 2006 two-story in the Highlands with 14 carpeted treads and a standard 36-inch-wide stairwell. Mrs. Mitchell had been sleeping on the living room couch for two weeks after hip replacement surgery at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital because the stairs to the master bedroom were off-limits during recovery. We laser-measured the 14-foot run, bolted the rail through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile — and installed the same week. The folded seat sits flush against the wall and the rest of the household walks the stairs normally. Mrs. Mitchell slept in her own bed that evening.

1978 Sky Island split-level — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Sky Island, WA Installed February 2026

A 1978 split-level in Sky Island with five steps from the front entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Kowalski is a retired Army logistics NCO who served at Fort Lewis and has lived in this house since 1985. Two other companies told the family they would need two separate lifts — one for each flight. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. His VA provider at the American Lake VA wrote the HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost.

Bonney Lake Heights rambler — straight rail on hardwood treads

Bonney Lake Heights, WA Installed January 2026

A 1990s rambler in Bonney Lake Heights with a finished basement and 13 hardwood treads leading down to the family room. Mr. Reeves had stopped using the basement entirely after a knee injury — the family room, workshop, and laundry were all downstairs and inaccessible. We drilled the mounting brackets directly into the hardwood treads without touching the original banister or the drywall. The slim-profile seat folds flat against the wall and the 34-inch stairwell retains full walking clearance. Mr. Reeves was back in his workshop the same evening.

Church Lake Road ranch — outdoor lift on raised front entry steps

Church Lake, WA Installed December 2025

A 1970s ranch on Church Lake Road with a raised front entry and seven concrete steps that collect moss and standing water from October through April. Mrs. Dawson slipped on the mossy steps in November and her daughter in Portland called the next morning. We installed the outdoor lift with corrosion-resistant stainless fasteners, an IP55-sealed motor housing rated for continuous Pacific Northwest rain exposure, and a fitted cover that sheds water and prevents moss growth on the seat. The battery backup keeps the lift running during windstorm power outages — common on the plateau in fall and winter. Mrs. Dawson has not worried about those steps since.

Fennel Creek two-story — straight rail, same-week install

Fennel Creek, WA Installed November 2025

A 2003 two-story near Fennel Creek with a standard 36-inch-wide staircase and carpeted treads. Mr. Tran's son called on a Wednesday, we measured Thursday morning, and the install crew was at the house Friday afternoon. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage. The seat folds flat against the wall and the wider staircase in this newer development made it one of the cleanest installs we have done in Bonney Lake. Mr. Tran said the installer explained every control twice and left a printed manual on the wall next to the charge station.

Platform Lift

Prairie Ridge home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Prairie Ridge, WA Installed October 2025

A two-story home near Prairie Ridge where Mr. Sandoval uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury sustained at JBLM. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum, and the COPES Waiver covered the remaining balance through his DSHS Home and Community Services coordinator. Mr. Sandoval rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Bonney Lake Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bonney Lake, WA?

Straight rails in standard Bonney Lake homes — the two-stories in the Highlands, the ramblers along Church Lake Road, the newer builds in Bonney Lake Heights — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for landing turns in Sky Island split-levels and older Church Lake homes run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home in Pierce County?

Pierce County's median home price has climbed past $550,000, and selling costs — real estate commission, closing fees, moving expenses, new deposits — typically run $25,000 to $45,000 minimum. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you own, in the neighborhood you know, near MultiCare Good Samaritan and the doctors you already see. For most Bonney Lake families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Bonney Lake homeowners?

Yes. We offer fixed-rate financing from $79 per month with no prepayment penalties. Most Bonney Lake homeowners choose 36- or 60-month terms. You can combine financing with VA HISA grant funds or Washington COPES Waiver coverage to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket cost. We walk you through every option during the free assessment.

Do outdoor stairlifts cost more because of the Pacific Northwest weather?

No. Sealed motor housings and corrosion-resistant fasteners are baseline on every Bonney Lake outdoor install, not an upcharge. The plateau climate here — 40+ inches of rain a year, winter frost cycles, and summer UV exposure — demands IP55-sealed motor housings and UV-stabilized upholstery as standard. These are included in every outdoor quote.

A word from Luis

Bonney Lake families usually call after a fall or a close call — a father gripping the railing white-knuckled in a two-story on Bonney Lake Heights, a grandmother who stopped going upstairs in her Sky Island split-level three months ago, a daughter in Seattle who found bruises on her mother's arms from catching herself on the banister in their Church Lake Road ranch.

I drive out the same day when I can, measure the staircase with a laser, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
