Stairlift Service Across Erie County

Erie County, NY

From the tree-lined streets of East Aurora village — where early-1900s American foursquares and Arts & Crafts bungalows line Main Street and Oakwood Avenue — to the rural farmsteads along Big Tree Road and Jewett Holmwood Road, our crew has measured staircases across every corner of the Town of Aurora. The Quaker Road corridor has postwar Cape Cods and ranches with standard straight-run stairs. Homes near Knox Road and Cazenovia Creek feature 1960s and 1970s split-levels with landing turns. The Mill Road area has older farmhouse-style construction where narrow treads and steep risers need precise rail placement. East Aurora village proper has the densest concentration of older two-story homes — sturdy foursquares with 13-tread oak flights that take a straight rail without modification.

1924 foursquare on Main Street — straight rail on original oak treads

East Aurora Village, NY Installed March 2026

A 1924 American foursquare on Main Street in East Aurora village with 13 original oak treads and a carved walnut banister the Walters family has maintained for four generations. Mrs. Walters had been sleeping in the downstairs den for a month after hip replacement surgery because the stairs were off-limits. We drove out, measured the 14-foot run with a laser, mounted the slim-profile rail on the wall opposite the banister, and installed the same week. The brown-upholstered seat parks flush against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Walters slept in her own bed that night.

Knox Road split-level — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Knox Road, NY Installed February 2026

A 1970s split-level near Knox Road with five steps from the front entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. DiNardo has lived in this house since 1982 and was not willing to move. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top. His VA provider at the Buffalo VA Medical Center wrote the HISA prescription, and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost. One ride, zero transfers.

Quaker Road Cape Cod — straight rail on carpeted stairs near wooden sideboard

Quaker Road, NY Installed January 2026

A 1950s Cape Cod along the Quaker Road corridor with carpeted stairs and a standard 36-inch-wide staircase. The brown-upholstered seat sits at the bottom of the stairs next to the family's wooden sideboard and a potted plant Mrs. Reynolds keeps by the landing. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. Folded, the seat and rail take up 11 inches, leaving 25 inches of clear passage. The grandchildren who visit every Sunday run past it without a second glance.

Outdoor

Big Tree Road home — outdoor lift on wooden porch steps

Big Tree Road, NY Installed December 2025

A home along Big Tree Road with seven wooden front porch steps that iced over every lake-effect storm. Mr. Fischer had already fallen once on the icy steps before his daughter called us. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the bottom, ready when he comes home from errands. Every component carries freeze-rated lubricant, UV-stabilized upholstery, and an IP55-sealed motor housing that keeps out snow, ice, and the lake-effect moisture that rolls off Lake Erie every winter. The battery backup kept the lift running through a two-day power outage during last January's lake-effect blizzard.

Mill Road farmhouse — straight rail on wide treads, same-week install

Mill Road, NY Installed November 2025

An older farmhouse along Mill Road with wide pine treads and a simple straight-run staircase. Mr. Kowalski's son called on Monday, we measured Tuesday afternoon, and the install crew arrived Thursday morning. The EISEP program through Erie County Senior Services covered the majority of the cost. The rail mounts flush against the wall, and the swivel seat at the top lets Mr. Kowalski step off onto the upstairs landing facing the hallway. He was riding it by Thursday evening.

Platform Lift

Jewett Holmwood Road home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Jewett Holmwood Road, NY Installed October 2025

A multi-level home near Jewett Holmwood Road where Mr. Patterson uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected injury during his Army years. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered $6,800 and the NY Medicaid waiver covered the remaining balance. Mr. Patterson rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Aurora Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Aurora, NY?

Straight rails in standard Aurora homes — the foursquares in East Aurora village, the Cape Cods along Quaker Road, the ranches near Big Tree Road — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for landing turns in older two-story homes and split-levels near Knox Road run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries and porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Aurora prices different from Buffalo or Orchard Park?

Equipment prices are identical across Erie County — we do not inflate or discount based on city size. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: hand-hewn oak treads in East Aurora's early-1900s foursquares, narrow stairs in pre-war farmhouses along Mill Road, and the corrosion-resistant coating we spec on every Aurora install to handle Western New York's road-salt exposure and lake-effect moisture. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. We list every line item on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Erie County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposits — typically run $12,000 to $28,000 minimum given current home values in the Buffalo metro. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you have lived in for decades, in the neighborhood you know, near your doctors and your community. For most Aurora families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Aurora homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, NY EISEP, or Erie County senior services so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Aurora families usually call after a close call on the stairs — a retired factory worker whose knees gave out after decades on the production line, a grandmother in East Aurora who slipped on the hardwood landing in her 1920s foursquare, a son in Buffalo worried about his parents in a farmhouse on Big Tree Road they refuse to leave.

I drive out, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
