Stairlift Service Across Anderson County

Anderson County, SC

From the early-century mill-village bungalows on the West Side — where we regularly fit compact straight rails alongside original wooden spindles — to the 1960s brick ranches along Boulevard and East Whitner Street with their standard two-story staircases, our team has measured every configuration Anderson produces. North Anderson Historic District split-levels near Civic Center Boulevard need curved rails for their mid-landing turns. South Main shotgun houses have narrow treads requiring slim-profile rails. We also cover Belton, Williamston, Pendleton, and Clemson without a travel surcharge.

West Side mill-village bungalow — original 1920s banister preserved

West Side, SC Installed March 2026

A 1928 mill-village bungalow on the West Side with an original oak banister the family refused to let any contractor touch. We bolted the rail into the hardwood treads without contacting a single spindle, matched the rail finish to the existing oak grain, and completed the install in a single afternoon. The beige seat folds flat against the wall when parked, leaving the narrow stairway fully walkable.

Boulevard split-level — curved rail around the mid-landing turn

Boulevard, SC Installed February 2026

A 1965 brick ranch split-level along Boulevard with a 90-degree turn at the mid-landing where the staircase changes direction. The curved rail bends around the half-wall at the landing, and the brown-upholstered seat parks flush on the upper floor so Mr. Greene steps off directly onto the hallway. One continuous ride from the entry level to the bedroom level, zero transfers.

East Whitner cottage — compact straight rail beside family sideboard

East Whitner, SC Installed January 2026

A traditional cottage along East Whitner Street with stone-tile treads at the base, a wooden sideboard right next to the staircase, and framed family photos on the wall. Space was tight — Mrs. Tolliver needed the furniture to stay. We fitted the compact-profile straight rail so the brown-upholstered seat tucks against the wall when parked, clearing the sideboard completely. The traditional interior did not change at all.

South Main raised porch — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone steps

South Main, SC Installed December 2025

A South Main bungalow with a raised front porch and flagstone steps to the front entry. Mr. Coleman is a veteran who qualified for the VA HISA grant through the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat rides from the walkway up to the covered porch, sealed against Anderson County's humidity and summer storms and anchored into the existing stonework.

North Anderson carpeted stairs — swivel-exit seat for safer top-landing step-off

North Anderson Historic District, SC Installed November 2025

A two-story home in the North Anderson Historic District near Civic Center Boulevard with carpeted treads and a top landing where Mrs. Brackett's husband had fallen the previous spring. The brown seat swivels 90 degrees at the upper landing so she stands on the hallway floor instead of balancing on the top step. The carpet simplified the bracket installation — rails seat firmly through the carpet pad into the subfloor. The 72-hour battery carried them through the January ice storm.

Platform Lift

Civic Center Boulevard home — indoor inclined wheelchair platform with yellow safety edges

Civic Center Boulevard, SC Installed October 2025

Mr. Simmons uses a manual wheelchair and needed access between floors in their home off Civic Center Boulevard. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip deck with yellow high-visibility safety edges, a white handrail, and a fold-up platform when not in use. A keyed call station at the lower landing lets the family summon the platform from either floor. ADA-compliant, rated to carry 600 lbs.

Common Questions

Everything Anderson Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Anderson right now?

Straight rails in standard Anderson homes — the West Side mill-village bungalows, the Boulevard brick ranches, the East Whitner cottages — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for staircases with a mid-landing turn run $9,000 to $14,700 because the rail is custom-fabricated to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and entry steps run $4,000 to $7,000. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and first service visit.

Are prices higher here than in Greenville?

Equipment prices are the same across the Upstate — we do not add an Anderson County surcharge. What occasionally varies is install labor for specific conditions: preserving original woodwork in mill-village homes, reinforcing worn treads in 100-year-old bungalows, or running a dedicated circuit in an older home with a small electrical panel. Every line item is in the written quote before we start. No post-install surprises.

Is a refurbished stairlift a realistic option?

For straight staircases, yes — a certified refurbished unit saves 30 to 40 percent off a new install. We carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never viable because the rail is manufactured to your specific staircase. Ask us during the assessment whether a refurbished straight unit makes sense for your home.

Any hidden fees for older Anderson homes?

Our quote covers everything: rail, seat, installation labor, battery backup, and the first service visit. The one add-on we occasionally see in older West Side and South Main homes is a dedicated electrical circuit when the nearest outlet cannot carry the load — that adds $200 to $400 and is handled by our licensed electrician. If it is needed, you hear about it during the assessment, not after we have started the install.

A word from Luis

Anderson has one of the highest disability rates I see in the Upstate — 15% of the population, and 16% are over 65. I get calls from families in the old mill villages on the West Side, from adult children in Greenville asking me to look at a parent's brick ranch on Boulevard, from veterans at the Dorn VA in Columbia asking whether HISA covers a stairlift.

I come out within 24 hours, measure once, and leave a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsell. Same-week install when you are ready.
