Stairlift Service Across Potter County

Potter County, TX

From the 1920s brick homes of Wolflin — one of Amarillo’s original neighborhoods on the National Register, with steep interior staircases and original hardwood banisters — to the postwar ranches and split-levels of Sleepy Hollow, where raised entries and half-flights to the garage level are the most common install configuration, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in Potter and Randall counties. San Jacinto’s 1920s–1940s bungalows bring narrow archway stairwells. Belmar’s two-stories have carpeted runs with top-landing step-off concerns. Arden Road ranches face exposed front entries that ice over every winter.

1948 Wolflin brick — rail color-matched to the original oak banister

Wolflin, TX Installed March 2026

A 1948 brick home in Wolflin with original oak banisters and steep interior stairs. Mrs. Caldwell’s son drove in from Lubbock after she slipped on the third step during a January ice storm. Luis brought color samples, matched the rail finish to the oak grain, and bolted the track into the existing hardwood stair treads without touching a spindle. The seat sits at the bottom landing, folded and out of the way when not in use.

90° landing turn in a Sleepy Hollow split-level

Sleepy Hollow, TX Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level in Sleepy Hollow with a 90° turn at the mid-landing. A straight rail was impossible. Luis digitally scanned the staircase, custom-fabricated a curved rail that carries Mrs. Thornton from the entry to the upper bedrooms in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top landing so she steps off onto the hallway floor. The brown-upholstered seat parks neatly at the upper floor when not in use.

Compact rail in a narrow San Jacinto bungalow stairway

San Jacinto, TX Installed January 2026

A 1930s bungalow in San Jacinto where the stairs pass through a compact space between the living room and upstairs hallway — every inch counted. Luis fitted the slimmest rail in our catalog next to a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs, added a folding footrest so the lift tucks fully out of the way when parked, and walked Mrs. Fuentes through every button twice. The stone-tile treads and cottage feel of the home stayed completely intact.

Weather-sealed outdoor rail for a raised Arden Road ranch entry

Arden Road, TX Installed December 2025

A ranch property south of Arden Road with a raised stone-paved entry and seven exterior steps exposed to full Panhandle wind. Mr. Hendricks is a Pantex retiree who qualified for a VA HISA grant through the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center. Luis prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back in five weeks, and the cream-colored weather-resistant seat was installed at the covered porch entry. Every bracket is hot-dip galvanized and the motor housing is sealed against dust and ice.

Belmar carpeted stairs — swivel-exit seat for safer top-landing step-off

Belmar, TX Installed November 2025

A two-story Belmar home with 14 carpeted treads and a narrow newel post at the bottom. Mrs. Ramirez’s biggest worry was stepping off at the top — her neighbor had fallen there the previous winter. Luis installed the swivel-exit seat that rotates 90° at the upper landing, so she stands on the hallway floor instead of the top step. The brown upholstery matches the carpet tones, and the fold-up footrest keeps the stairway clear for visiting grandchildren.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform for a San Jacinto split-entry home

San Jacinto, TX Installed October 2025

The Guerrero’s father uses a power wheelchair and needed access between the entry level and the main living area in their San Jacinto split-entry home — a half-flight of four steps that made the house inaccessible. Luis installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat anti-slip deck, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. The indoor stairway’s orange-toned walls frame the unit. The STAR+PLUS waiver through Amerigroup covered the full installation cost after MCO service coordinator approval.

Common Questions

Everything Amarillo Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Amarillo right now?

Straight rails in standard Amarillo homes — the Wolflin brick homes, the Sleepy Hollow two-stories, the Belmar ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level configurations and staircases with landings run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised porches and entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, cold-weather battery backup, and the first service visit.

Does the cold-weather battery upgrade cost extra in the Panhandle?

No. Every Amarillo install ships with the cold-weather LiFePO4 battery rated to -20°F as a baseline spec — not an add-on. Factory batteries are rated to 32°F. Panhandle January nights drop to -5°F and have hit -15°F. A factory battery would fail in one winter. The cold-weather spec is part of our standard Amarillo quote. We also include a sealed motor housing against Panhandle dust and wind at no additional charge.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30–40% off a new install — we carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never an option because the rail is custom-manufactured to a specific staircase. If your Amarillo home has a standard straight run, ask us about refurbished inventory during the assessment.

Any hidden fees for homes in older Amarillo neighborhoods?

Our quote covers everything: rail, seat, installation, cold-weather battery, and the first service visit. The only add-on we occasionally see in older Wolflin and San Jacinto homes is a dedicated electrical circuit when the existing outlet near the base of the stairs can’t handle the load. If that applies, we tell you during the assessment, not after drilling has started. A new circuit adds $200–$400 and is handled by our TDLR-licensed electrician.

A word from Luis

Most Amarillo families call me after the first bad ice storm of the year — a slip on the porch steps in a Wolflin bungalow, a parent who stopped going downstairs after a hip replacement, a rancher’s wife calling from a two-story on the south side because her husband refuses to sleep in the living room one more winter.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
