Stairlift Service Across Williams County

Williams County, ND

Williston's housing tells you a lot about the install. Dakota Parkway Addition is full of 1980s condos with narrow straight staircases that take a compact rail bolted to the treads. College Hill Addition has 1950s two-story homes with a mid-flight landing turn, where a curved rail is common. Jonathan's Landing, along the Little Muddy River, and Williston Square, the redevelopment on the former Sloulin Field site, are new builds with wide, code-compliant straight stairs. Missouri Meadow runs to 1990s split-levels with carpeted basement stairs, while Harvest Hills on the west side mixes ranches and newer homes near the VA clinic, where exposed porch entries often call for a sealed outdoor lift.

Straight

Dakota Parkway — straight rail on a narrow 1981 condo staircase

Dakota Parkway Addition, ND Installed March 2026

The Olsons' 1981 condo has dark hardwood stairs only 34 inches wide. Luis mounted a compact straight rail with bolt-through brackets straight into the treads, no wall drilling. The beige seat rests at the bottom landing and folds slim enough to keep the hallway passable, with a DC motor and battery backup for the frequent winter outages west of Highway 2.

College Hill — curved rail around a mid-flight landing

College Hill Addition, ND Installed February 2026

The Bergs' 1950s two-story has a 90-degree staircase turn at a mid-flight landing under a vintage chandelier. Luis laser-measured the turn, and two weeks later the brown seat was parking at the upper landing just past the curve, following the original banister line without crowding the upstairs hallway.

Jonathan's Landing — straight rail on stone-look tile treads

Jonathan's Landing, ND Installed April 2026

The Myers' two-story along the Little Muddy River has wide stairs with stone-look tile treads. Luis mounted the straight rail on the left side, threading bolts into the tile-over-plywood treads. The brown seat sits next to a wooden sideboard at the base, blending into the compact living room, and the DC motor runs quietly enough that upstairs activity goes unnoticed.

Harvest Hills — sealed outdoor lift on an iced-over stone porch

Harvest Hills, ND Installed October 2025

Harvest Hills sits on Williston's exposed west side, where northwest winds push winter lows below -20°F. The Hendersons' porch entry has rough stone paving that ices over from November through March. Luis installed an IP55-rated outdoor lift with a sealed motor and a cream vinyl seat on a powder-coated aluminum rail that shrugs off grit, and it has run without fault through a full North Dakota winter.

Missouri Meadow — straight rail on carpeted split-level stairs

Missouri Meadow, ND Installed January 2026

The Petersons' 1990s split-level has carpeted stairs from the main floor down to a finished basement. The brown upholstery on the seat blends with the beige carpet and is barely visible when folded. Luis mounted the straight rail through the carpet into the treads with no tear-out, and the tiled floor at the base gives a clean, level exit.

Williston Square — indoor wheelchair platform on a straight staircase

Williston Square, ND Installed September 2025

Williston Square, the redevelopment on the former Sloulin Field site, has new-construction homes with code-compliant staircases. The Thompsons needed wheelchair access on a 16-foot straight run. Luis installed an indoor inclined platform with a flat black deck and yellow safety edges for contact-stop, 600-pound capacity, that folds against the wall when it is not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Williston Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a straight stairlift cost in Williston?

A straight stairlift in Williston starts at $2,800 installed, covering the rail, seat, battery backup, two remotes, and labor with a 5-year motor warranty and lifetime rail warranty. Most Williston homes with a straight staircase fall in this range. Financing is available from $79/month.

What does a curved stairlift cost for a Williston two-story?

Curved stairlifts start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your exact staircase geometry. The price includes the laser-measurement visit, the custom rail, installation, battery backup, and warranty. Expect about a two-week fabrication turnaround — common on the College Hill two-stories with a mid-flight landing.

Are outdoor stairlifts worth the cost in Williston's climate?

Yes — the $4,000 starting price covers an IP55-rated outdoor lift built for this climate: a sealed motor housing and a powder-coated aluminum rail rated for freeze-thaw cycles down to -20°F. Outdoor lifts on the west side near Harvest Hills have run through full North Dakota winters without a service call.

Does a heavy-duty stairlift cost more in Williston?

A 600-lb-rated heavy-duty lift starts at $5,050 installed. It adds a reinforced dual-tube rail and a wider 22-inch seat but uses the same bolt-through mounting as a standard straight lift, so labor is similar. Luis confirms the exact spec during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Williston grew fast in the Bakken years, so the housing here is a real mix — 1950s two-stories up in College Hill, 1980s ranches and condos along Dakota Parkway, and brand-new builds out in Williston Square and Jonathan's Landing. That mix decides the job. The new construction usually takes a clean straight rail bolted to the treads; the older two-stories with a mid-flight landing are where I bend a curved rail.

Cold is the other factor out here. West-side homes in Harvest Hills catch the northwest wind and the porch steps ice over from November on, so I seal the motor and run a battery backup for the outages. I measure on site, never over the phone, and I serve all of Williams County myself.
