Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County, CA

The homes we work on in West Puente Valley cluster between Amar Road to the north and Valley Boulevard to the south, with the 605 Freeway forming the western edge. These are overwhelmingly single-story ranch homes built in the mid-1950s — original hardwood treads, narrow stairwells, and attached garages. In Avocado Heights just to the south, we see more two-story layouts with landing turns that need custom-curved rails. Valinda to the east has a similar 1950s housing stock but more homes with tile or stone treads from 1990s-era renovations. Over in Bassett, split-level ranches with outdoor entry stairs are common — these need weather-sealed outdoor units.

1956 Ranch on Merced Avenue

West Puente Valley, CA Installed March 2026

Original 1956 ranch with dark hardwood treads and a narrow 34-inch stairwell. Mrs. Delgado, 76, had been avoiding the stairs for months after a near-fall. Straight rail bolted directly to the oak treads — five lag bolts, no wall anchoring. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing. She was riding upstairs within three hours of our arrival.

Common Questions

Everything West Puente Valley Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in West Puente Valley?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved rails — which we measure on site with a 1-hour laser scan — start at $9,000. Outdoor units for raised porch entries start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. All prices include labor, the rail, the seat, battery backup, and a 5-year warranty with a lifetime rail guarantee. Financing runs about $79/month. No hidden fees — we give you the number at the assessment, not after.

Are stairlifts in West Puente Valley more expensive than other parts of LA County?

No. Our pricing is flat across Los Angeles County. A straight lift on Merced Avenue costs the same as one in Santa Clarita or Torrance. The only variable is curved vs. straight — curved rails cost more because the rail is custom-bent to your exact stair turn after a laser measurement. The homes in West Puente Valley, with a median build year of 1956, are overwhelmingly straight-staircase ranches, so most installs fall at the $2,800 starting price.

Do you offer financing for stairlifts in West Puente Valley?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month with approved credit. We also walk you through grant options at the assessment. The VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans (and $2,000 for non-service-connected). Medi-Cal's HCBA Waiver in California covers Environmental Accessibility Adaptations (EAA) up to $7,500 for qualifying members through L.A. Care and other managed-care plans. The LACDA Senior Grant Program helps low-income homeowners 62 and older with mobility-related home modifications.

Why do curved stairlifts cost so much more than straight ones?

A curved rail is custom-fabricated to your specific staircase after a 1-hour laser measurement on site. Every turn, landing, and angle is unique — no two curved installations use the same rail. The fabrication takes 2-3 weeks at our facility. A straight rail, by contrast, is a standard 12-14 foot section we stock in the van. In West Puente Valley, most homes are ranch-style with straight staircases, so curved installs are less common — they mostly come up in the few two-story homes in Avocado Heights and parts of Bassett.

A word from Luis

West Puente Valley is mostly midcentury ranch homes built between 1953 and 1960 — the median construction year here is 1956. That means straight staircases, usually 12 to 14 feet of oak treads, and a tight footprint with no room for a downstairs bedroom conversion. I've installed on Merced Avenue, Amar Road, and the side streets off Valley Boulevard. The biggest call I get: an adult daughter who lives 20 minutes away in West Covina or El Monte, worried her mom is going to fall on those hardwood stairs.

The outdoor installs here are different. A lot of these ranches have a raised porch with four to six stone steps up from the driveway. We use the IP55-rated outdoor rail — weather-sealed for the San Gabriel Valley's dry summers and the occasional winter rain. No rust, no fade after five years of 90-degree August afternoons. The same outdoor unit we put on a Bassett split-level last month runs the same way today as it did on day one.

If you live between Amar Road and Valley Boulevard, I can probably be at your door within 48 hours to measure. Most straight installs take three hours. The rail bolts to the treads — we don't touch your drywall. Call me at the office and I'll walk you through what your specific staircase needs.

— Luis Ramírez, West Puente Valley
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

West Puente Valley sits in the San Gabriel Valley about 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, bordered by Baldwin Park to the north and La Puente to the southeast. The homes here were built fast in the postwar boom — median year 1956 — and they share a floor plan that worked for young families then but gets harder as those same residents turn 70, 80, or 90. The stairs don't change. Your knees do.

We install straight rails on oak treads, curved rails on two-story landing turns, outdoor units on raised porches, and platform lifts for wheelchair users. Same-day assessment. Three-hour install on most straight jobs. If you're looking at the HISA grant through the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center or the Medi-Cal EAA benefit through L.A. Care, we can help with the paperwork at the assessment. Call Luis at the office — he knows every block between Amar Road and Valley Boulevard.
