The standard for Palm Beach County's two-story homes — El Cid, Flamingo Park, SoSo, and the 55+ communities west of I-95.

About 70% of the stairlifts we install in the West Palm Beach area are straight models. The rail bolts into your stair treads — never the wall — the seat and footrest fold flat, and the battery backup keeps you moving through hurricane-season outages. Every Florida install gets a high-temperature synthetic lubricant rated for the sustained 90°F+ stairwell temperatures in south-facing homes. Most El Cid and Flamingo Park homes install in under four hours.

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County, FL

From the 1920s Mediterranean Revival homes of El Cid — where original Dade County pine treads and wrought-iron banisters demand a color-matched rail that clears the ironwork by inches — to the Mission-style bungalows of Flamingo Park, where curved staircases sweep under plaster arches that narrow clearance and require custom fabrication, our team has mapped every West Palm Beach neighborhood. We know which Old Northwood homes fall under the Historic Preservation Board's exterior-modification review, which Grandview Heights Spanish bungalows have the narrow 9-inch treads that need a slim-profile rail, and which SoSo two-stories have the south-facing stairwells that hit 90°F by April and need heat-rated lubricant and battery packs. The Northwest District split-levels from the 1970s account for our highest volume of curved-rail installs in the city, and the 55+ communities west of I-95 — Century Village, Palm Beach Lakes, and the age-restricted developments along Military Trail — keep our HOA paperwork templates busy year-round.

1926 El Cid waterfront home — straight rail on original hardwood treads

El Cid, FL Installed March 2026

A 1926 Mediterranean Revival in El Cid with original Dade County pine treads, a wrought-iron banister, and Intracoastal views from the upper landing. Mrs. Castellano had been living exclusively on the ground floor for five months after fracturing her femur — her bedroom, her closet, and her late husband's study were all upstairs and she hadn't touched any of them since October. The treads were solid Dade County pine, dense as iron, which actually makes for a stronger anchor than modern softwood construction. We bolted the rail into those original treads, ran the track tight against the wall so it clears the wrought-iron banister by four inches, and color-matched the rail to the existing wood tone. Her daughter flew down from Connecticut for the install and watched her mother ride upstairs, walk into the bedroom, and sit on the edge of the bed without saying a word for a full minute. She called us the next day to say thank you.

Flamingo Park historic home — curved rail past 1920s arched doorway

Flamingo Park, FL Installed February 2026

A 1924 Mission Revival in the Flamingo Park Historic District with a curved staircase, arched doorway at the upper landing, and original barrel-tile details the homeowners refused to let anyone obscure. The staircase sweeps 180° from the foyer to the second floor, passing under a plaster arch that narrows the clearance by six inches compared to a standard opening. We digitally scanned the full run, fabricated a curved rail that hugs the inside wall and threads under the arch without touching the plaster, and installed a swivel-exit seat that rotates Mrs. Feldstein away from the top tread so she steps off facing the hallway. The Feldsteins have lived in this house since 1981 and plan to stay. Their neighbors on Flamingo Drive came over to inspect the work the following weekend — two of them called us within the month.

Grandview Heights Spanish bungalow — straight rail on stone-trimmed interior stairs

Grandview Heights, FL Installed January 2026

A 1927 Spanish bungalow in Grandview Heights with coquina stone trim on the interior stair risers and narrow treads that measured just 9 inches deep — tighter than modern code allows. Mrs. Mercado's mother moved in after a stroke and could no longer grip the original iron handrail firmly enough to climb safely. The narrow treads required a slim-profile rail with a compact footrest that clears each riser without catching. We mounted the rail on the open side of the staircase, opposite the stone trim, so the coquina detailing remains fully visible. The entire assessment and installation was conducted in Spanish — the family's preferred language — and Luis left a Spanish-language operating manual and a laminated quick-reference card taped to the wall at the bottom landing.

Old Northwood historic home — outdoor rail on stone porch steps

Old Northwood, FL Installed December 2025

A 1925 Mediterranean Revival in the Old Northwood Historic District with a raised front porch, six coral-stone steps, and full exposure to the Atlantic salt air that corrodes unsealed hardware within two seasons at this distance from the coast. Mr. Thornton is a Korean War veteran who qualified for an HISA grant through the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and the prescription came from his VA primary care provider within three weeks. The outdoor rail is anchored into the coral stone with stainless-steel marine-grade fasteners, the motor housing is sealed to IP55, and we applied a salt-air protective coating rated for coastal Florida exposure. Old Northwood's Historic Preservation Board required that the rail not alter the facade's appearance from the street — we mounted it on the interior side of the porch wall, invisible from the sidewalk. Mr. Thornton has used his front porch every morning since installation.

SoSo two-story — straight rail over carpeted stairs

SoSo (South of Southern), FL Installed November 2025

A 1960s two-story in SoSo with carpeted stairs and a south-facing stairwell that hits 90°F by mid-April. Mrs. Patterson's son lives in Atlanta and arranged the assessment remotely — Luis joined him on FaceTime so he could see the stairwell, hear the measurements, and approve the quote in real time. The carpet required through-bolting into the plywood subfloor beneath, and we applied the high-temperature synthetic lubricant rated for the sustained heat in south-facing Florida stairwells. Mrs. Patterson was back sleeping in her own bedroom the same day the lift went in. Her son called the next morning and said he slept through the night for the first time in six weeks.

Platform Lift

Northwest District split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Northwest District, FL Installed October 2025

A 1970s split-level in the Northwest District where the front door opens to a three-step drop into the living room. Mr. Jenkins is in a wheelchair after a stroke and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. A standard lift was out of the question. We installed a vertical platform lift with high-visibility yellow safety edges that lets him roll from the front door directly onto the platform and descend to the living room level without leaving his chair. Florida Medicaid through Sunshine Health covered the full cost after the CARES assessment — the family didn't know the SMMC-LTC program existed until Luis explained it during the assessment. Mrs. Jenkins said the platform lift gave her husband the front door back.

Common Questions

Everything West Palm Beach Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in West Palm Beach right now?

Straight rails in standard West Palm Beach two-story homes — the El Cid waterfront houses, the Flamingo Park bungalows, the SoSo two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for 1920s Mediterranean staircases with arched landings or 1970s split-level ranches in the Northwest District run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and coral-stone entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different on the Island versus West Palm Beach proper?

Equipment prices are identical regardless of address — we don't inflate quotes for El Cid waterfront homes or discount for Northwest District ranches. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: historic preservation compliance in Flamingo Park and Old Northwood, marine-grade fasteners for outdoor installs within 5 miles of the Atlantic, and curved-rail fabrication for 1920s staircase geometry. We itemize every line upfront. No address-based markups.

Does the price include a post-hurricane-season inspection?

Yes. Every outdoor install in Palm Beach County includes a complimentary 6-month post-hurricane-season service visit built into the first-year plan. We check fastener integrity, re-lubricate the rail, test the battery backup, and inspect the motor seal. For indoor installs, your first annual service visit is included in the quoted price.

Does salt air affect pricing for outdoor stairlifts?

Not as a surcharge — marine-grade hardware is standard on every outdoor install in Palm Beach County. We spec 316-stainless fasteners, a sealed IP55 motor housing, and a salt-air protective coating on every outdoor unit regardless of distance from the coast. Standard zinc-plated hardware pits within two seasons at West Palm Beach's proximity to the Atlantic, so we never install it here. The marine-grade spec is built into the quoted outdoor price, not added as a line item. The coating also protects against the UV exposure that degrades uncoated upholstery in south-facing stairwells year-round.

A word from Luis

West Palm Beach families usually call after the same story — a parent who stopped going upstairs in their Flamingo Park bungalow, a fall on the terrazzo landing of an El Cid waterfront home, a daughter in New York who found out her mother in Old Northwood hasn't slept in her own bed since Christmas.

I drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written quote that's good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. If you're a veteran, I bring the HISA paperwork — the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center is ten minutes from most of these neighborhoods and I've walked dozens of Palm Beach County vets through the grant. En español si lo prefiere.
