Stairlift Service Across Wake County

Wake County, NC

Wendell's housing spans early-1900s Wendell Boulevard Historic District Colonials and Craftsman bungalows with narrow pre-WWII staircases, to rapid-growth subdivisions that have nearly doubled the town's population since 2020. Wendell Falls, a master-planned community 15 miles east of Raleigh, built hundreds of homes with wide straight staircases. Foxborough Crossing and Eagle Rock feature mid-2000s two-story layouts with common curved-stair turns. The all-ranch Meadows at Hollybrook skips stairs entirely, while Anderson Farm townhomes pack steep interior stairwells that typically call for a custom curved rail.

1923 Colonial Revival, Wendell Boulevard Historic District

Wendell Boulevard Historic District, NC Installed April 2026

The Pattersons' 1923 Colonial Revival sits in the Wendell Boulevard Historic District. Original oak staircase — 13 treads, 32 inches wide, buffed smooth by a century of use. Tight, steep, no landing at the turn. The straight rail bolted to the treads, leaving the plaster walls and original trim untouched. Mrs. Patterson, 78, rode it before lunch the day of install.

Custom Curved Rail, Wendell Falls

Wendell Falls, NC Installed March 2026

The Nguyens' Wendell Falls home has a broad curved staircase with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, opening onto a loft. The custom rail was bent to match after a 1-hour laser measurement. The install took about five and a half hours — the rail hugs the turn precisely, with the seat parked at the upstairs hallway. No wall anchors, no drywall repair needed.

Stone-Tile Treads, Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock, NC Installed February 2026

The Tuckers' Eagle Rock home features a 14-foot straight flight with stone-tile treads — hard surfaces that amplified every step. Luis drilled through the tile into the subfloor beneath. The rail sits rock-solid with no vibration, even on the top three treads where tile had settled slightly. A compact beige seat folds up tight against the rail when not in use, keeping the entry hall open.

Front Porch Outdoor Lift, Foxborough Crossing

Foxborough Crossing, NC Installed January 2026

The Colemans' Foxborough Crossing home has a brick stoop with four steps to the front door — manageable for years but a barrier after Mr. Coleman's hip surgery. The outdoor straight lift mounted on the porch side approach, IP55-sealed against Wendell's humid summers and winter freezes. The powder-coated rail and marine-grade seat run quiet even after a Carolina summer downpour.

Bonus-Room Stairs Over Garage, The Meadows at Hollybrook

The Meadows at Hollybrook, NC Installed October 2025

The Meadows at Hollybrook builds all-ranch homes, but the Hendersons' model has a bonus room above the garage — a carpeted flight of 12 stairs leading to the guest suite. Mrs. Henderson needed access for visiting grandkids. Straight rail mounted through the medium-pile beige carpet and subfloor. The brown seat matches the upholstery tones. Luis had it running before noon.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform, Anderson Farm

Anderson Farm, NC Installed September 2025

Anderson Farm townhomes stack three floors — the Thompsons' son uses a wheelchair and could not reach the second-level bedrooms. An indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black deck and yellow safety edges installed alongside the interior stairwell. Carries up to 600 pounds, folds against the wall when the stairs are clear. Two-button operation — one up, one down. The family stopped carrying him up the stairs the day it went in.

Common Questions

Everything Wendell Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Wendell?

A straight stairlift in Wendell starts at $2,800 installed. That covers the rail, seat, mounting hardware, and full installation by Luis — no hidden delivery charges or surprise add-ons. Most straight installs in Wendell run between $2,800 and $3,600 depending on rail length and any optional features like a power swivel seat or folding rail section at the bottom landing.

How much is a curved stairlift for a Wendell home?

Curved stairlifts in Wendell start at $9,000. The price reflects the custom fabrication — the rail is bent to match your exact stair turn after a 1-hour laser measurement on site. Homes in Foxborough Crossing, Eagle Rock, and newer Wendell Falls builds commonly have a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. No two curved rails are identical, which is why the cost runs higher than a straight unit.

Can I finance a stairlift in Wendell, and what are the monthly payments?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month for qualified buyers. We work with several lenders who offer 12-to-60-month terms. There is no prepayment penalty. Luis can run the financing application during the in-home assessment — it typically processes same-day.

Is an outdoor stairlift more expensive than an indoor one in Wendell?

An outdoor stairlift in Wendell starts at $4,000. The higher base price reflects the weather-sealed components — IP55-rated motor housing, powder-coated rail, and marine-grade vinyl upholstery that resists sun fade and humidity. For most Wendell homes with a front-porch stoop or back-deck stairs, the outdoor install is a straight rail and follows the same three-hour timeline as an indoor straight unit.

A word from Luis

Wendell's housing stock is two different worlds. On one side you've got century-old Colonials and Craftsman bungalows in the Wendell Boulevard Historic District — gorgeous homes, but those staircases were built in the 1920s, narrow and steep. On the other side, Wendell Falls and Foxborough Crossing are adding hundreds of new two-story homes with wide landings and modern framing. I've installed on both. The old homes take a little more care measuring — floor settling, odd tread heights — but the rail always fits. The newer ones are straightforward structurally, but the curved stairs at the upper landings need a custom-bent rail every time. No two are alike.

What most families in Wendell don't realize is how many funding sources they qualify for. Between the HISA grant through the Wake County VA Clinic in Raleigh, the NC Home and Community Care Block Grant for seniors, and Wake County's own Elderly and Disabled Grant, a lot of installs end up with most or all of the cost covered. I walk every family through the paperwork at the assessment — usually takes about 20 minutes.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Wendell sits at an interesting moment — one of the fastest-growing towns in Wake County, with new subdivisions going up every year, yet still anchored by two National Register historic districts where homes date to the 1890s. That mix means stairlift installs here run the full gamut: tight Colonial Revival staircases on Wendell Boulevard, wide-open curved flights in new Wendell Falls builds, and everything in between.

If you're reading this from your phone at 11pm after a fall or near-miss on the stairs, call Luis at the number above. He'll come out, measure, and give you a real number — not an estimate range, not a marketing brochure. Most Wendell installs happen within a week of the assessment.
