Stairlift Service Across Greene County

Greene County, MO

Rountree is our signature Craftsman territory — 1920s bungalows with original heart-pine treads, built-in bookcases flanking the stairwell, and narrow archways that demand careful rail placement. Phelps Grove’s 1930s colonials along the MSU campus fringe are our bread-and-butter straight-rail installs. University Heights has the steep basement stairs that are often the real accessibility barrier. Galloway Village ranches almost always have the split-level entry requiring a curved rail. Battlefield-area subdivisions from the 1980s have wide treads that install in three hours flat. We also cover Nixa, Republic, Ozark, Willard, and Strafford — all within 20 minutes of downtown.

1924 Rountree Craftsman — rail color-matched to original heart-pine treads

Rountree, MO Installed March 2026

A 1924 Craftsman bungalow in Rountree with original heart-pine treads, built-in bookcases flanking the stairwell, and a homeowner who was clear from the first call: don’t touch the woodwork. We brought color samples to the first visit, matched the rail finish to the honey-brown heart-pine grain, and bolted the track into the treads only — never touching the bookcases, the banister, or a single piece of original Craftsman millwork. Tornado-rated anchor hardware ships standard on every Greene County install. The rail is practically invisible when parked at the upper landing.

Galloway Village split-level — 90° landing turn, one continuous ride

Galloway Village, MO Installed February 2026

A 1960s split-level ranch in Galloway Village — the half-flight entry with a 90° turn at the upper landing that makes a straight rail impossible. Every other company Mr. Crawford called said he’d need two lifts. We laser-scanned the staircase on the first visit, custom-fabricated a curved rail that carries the rider from the entry to the upper bedrooms in a single continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so Mr. Crawford steps off onto the hallway carpet instead of the top tread. The install wrapped in under 4 hours after the 10-day rail fabrication window.

Phelps Grove colonial — straight rail on carpeted stairs before CoxHealth discharge

Phelps Grove, MO Installed January 2026

A 1930s Phelps Grove colonial where the main bedroom is on the second floor. Mr. Morrison was scheduled for discharge from CoxHealth North after a total hip replacement. His daughter called on a Monday; we measured Tuesday and installed Wednesday morning — completing the install six hours before his discharge transport arrived. The CoxHealth rehab team had already documented the medical necessity in the discharge plan. The rail bolts through the carpeted treads into the subfloor, and the folding seat parks flat at the upper landing. Mr. Morrison rode the lift upstairs on the first night home.

University Heights front porch — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone steps, HISA-funded

University Heights, MO Installed November 2025

A raised-porch Craftsman in University Heights with six stone steps from the sidewalk to the front door — the daily barrier that had kept Mr. Garrison effectively housebound on high-pain days. A Vietnam veteran, he qualified for the VA HISA grant ($6,800) through the Springfield CBOC on National Avenue, processed through the Harry S. Truman VA in Columbia. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and had the prescription back in five weeks. The cream-colored weather-sealed seat sits on a marine-grade rail anchored with tornado-rated hardware bolted into the existing stone paving. The seat folds flat against the porch railing when not in use.

Republic townhome — slim-profile rail in a 30-inch stairwell with swivel exit

Republic, MO Installed October 2025

A two-story townhome in Republic built in 2002 with a 30-inch stairwell — narrow enough that a standard-width rail would leave less than 13 inches of clearance. Mrs. Dawson’s son measured it himself before calling and was skeptical. We installed the slim-profile model at 7.5 inches with a fold-flat seat and folding footrest that clears to 10.5 inches when parked. The swivel-exit seat rotates 90° at the top landing so Mrs. Dawson steps off onto the second-floor hallway rather than balancing on the top step. The carpeted treads simplified the bracket install.

Platform Lift

Battlefield corridor — indoor wheelchair platform lift across a three-level switchback

Battlefield, MO Installed September 2025

A 1980s two-story in the Battlefield corridor with a staircase that rises across three distinct levels — a half-flight from the garage to the entry, then a full flight to the bedrooms — with a 180° switchback turn between the two flights. Mrs. Simmons uses a walker and cannot safely transfer between two separate lifts. We digitally scanned all three levels, fabricated a continuous rail for the inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat anti-slip surface and yellow high-visibility safety edges, and installed a mid-landing rest platform at the entry level where she can pause, stand, and re-seat before continuing.

Common Questions

Everything Springfield Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in the Springfield area right now?

Straight rails in standard Springfield homes — the Craftsman bungalows in Rountree, the colonials along Phelps Grove, the ranches south of Battlefield — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you’ll need for split-level entries and the steep-lot Craftsman layouts with a mid-landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised porches and basement-access side entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Springfield than Kansas City or St. Louis?

Equipment prices are the same across Missouri. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving original Craftsman millwork in Rountree, tornado-rated anchor hardware that ships standard on every Greene County install, and the cold-weather battery we add for any staircase that passes through an unheated basement zone. Written quotes provide transparent line items. No surprise fees.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Greene County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

I’m on a fixed income. Is there a budget option?

Yes. Certified pre-owned straight rails start at $1,800 installed with a 2-year warranty. We also offer 0% APR financing from $79/month. For Springfield specifically, the MO HealthNet A&D Waiver covers stairlifts up to $7,500 per waiver year for Medicaid-eligible residents, and the VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans. The MHDC Home Repair grant covers up to $24,999 for households under 50% AMI. More than half our Springfield installs use at least one funding path.

A word from Luis

Most Springfield families call me after a season that changed everything — a fall on rain-slicked porch steps during a spring storm, a parent who stopped going upstairs because the Rountree Craftsman staircase is too steep, a daughter driving in from Nixa every morning to help her father navigate the split-level entry.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
