Stairlift Service Across Stearns County

Stearns County, MN

Sartell's housing stretches from the Mississippi River bluffs west across Highway 15, with homes spanning both Stearns and Benton counties. The Daybreak development features newer two-story homes with oak staircases — the 14-step straight run where a standard rail installs in about three hours. Eagle Ridge, adjacent to the high school and Blackberry Ridge Golf Club, has early-2000s homes with carpeted stairs and wider treads suited for a basic straight-lift mount. Along the Pine Cone Road corridor, older split-levels with tile-entry stairs and half-landings often need a curved rail measured on site. Riverside Avenue homes near the Mississippi sit into the river bluffs with outdoor stone-tread entry stairs — freeze-thaw shifts everything a few millimeters each year, so an IP55 outdoor lift with stainless hardware is the right call.

Straight

Straight Rail on Dark Hardwood in Daybreak Two-Story

Daybreak, MN Installed March 2026

The Olsons' 2007 Daybreak home has a classic 14-riser oak staircase — standard width, consistent pitch, no turns. Mrs. Olson had knee replacement surgery and couldn't manage the upstairs bedroom. Luis installed a beige straight rail bolted to the treads, no wall contact. The seat parks at the bottom landing near the entry closet. From measurement to install: four business days.

Curved

Curved Rail at Upper Landing in Watab Springs Home

Watab Springs, MN Installed February 2026

The Petersons' Watab Springs two-story has a 90-degree turn at the upper landing where the staircase meets the hallway. A straight rail wouldn't work — the turn happens mid-run. Luis laser-measured the full staircase in an hour, mapping the radius precisely. The custom curved rail arrived three weeks later, fitted in a single afternoon. The brown seat parks at the top floor near the chandelier-lit landing.

Compact Straight Rail on Tile Treads Near Sideboard

Pine Cone Road, MN Installed January 2026

The Murphys live in a compact 1994 split-level off Pine Cone Road with a short staircase — ten risers, stone tile treads, tight clearance at the base near a wooden sideboard. Luis used a Slimline rail to preserve walking space. The brown seat tucks against the sideboard when parked. The whole install required five brackets into the tile treads. Done in three hours, including the walk-through.

Outdoor

Outdoor Lift on Stone Entry Steps Near Mississippi Bluff

Riverside Avenue, MN Installed November 2025

The Nelsons' Riverside Avenue home sits into the river bluff with six outdoor stone steps leading to the front door — rough paving, no cover, full Minnesota exposure. Luis installed an IP55-rated cream outdoor rail with all-stainless hardware. The lift has been through a full winter — multiple snowfalls, freeze-thaw cycles, and one ice storm. The DC motor started at -8°F without hesitation. Marine-grade sealing on every electrical connection.

Carpeted Stair Straight Rail in Eagle Ridge Family Home

Eagle Ridge, MN Installed April 2026

The Andersons' 2004 Eagle Ridge home has a carpeted staircase — beige cut-pile that matches the brown stairlift upholstery almost exactly. Twelve risers, standard width, no landing turns. The brackets went through the carpet directly into the wood tread substrate — no cutting, no carpet damage. Mr. Anderson had a stroke in February and needed access to the upstairs bathroom. The lift was operational three days after the initial call.

Platform Lift

Indoor Inclined Platform Lift in Benton Drive Home

Benton Drive, MN Installed March 2026

The Carters needed a wheelchair solution for their adult son in their Benton Drive two-story — a seat lift wouldn't work because he couldn't transfer. Luis installed an inclined platform lift with a flat black deck and yellow safety edges. The platform folds up against the wall when not in use. Fourteen risers, indoor only, powered by the same DC battery-backed motor as the seat lifts. The Carters' son operates the platform independently using the joystick control.

Common Questions

Everything Sartell Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Sartell?

A straight stairlift in Sartell runs from $2,800 installed. That covers a standard 14-foot rail, the powered seat, measurement, and a three-hour install. Curved lifts start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a 1-hour laser measurement on site. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000 with IP55 weather-sealing and stainless hardware. Heavy-duty units rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. All prices include battery backup and a 5-year warranty plus lifetime rail coverage.

Why is there such a price difference between straight and curved stairlifts in Sartell?

A straight rail is a standard pre-manufactured track cut to length. A curved rail is custom-fabricated — we laser-measure every turn, landing, and riser in your Sartell home, then the rail is bent at the factory to match your exact stair geometry. That fabrication adds about $6,000 to the base cost. Most Sartell homes built after 1990 have straight stairs, but split-levels along Pine Cone Road and older homes near the river often have a turn that needs a curved rail.

Can I finance a stairlift in Sartell?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month. We offer term options from 24 to 60 months through a third-party lender. Most Sartell customers who finance combine it with a VA HISA grant or Minnesota Elderly Waiver EAA benefit to bring the monthly payment down further. We handle the paperwork on our end.

Does the price include removal if I no longer need the lift?

Yes. Removal is straightforward — the rail unbolts from the treads, leaving only small screw holes that touch-up filler covers in minutes. There's no wall damage, no drywall repair, no repainting needed. We include removal in the initial install price if the lift was purchased outright. Rental units include removal at the end of the rental term at no extra charge.

A word from Luis

I've done more installs in Sartell's Daybreak and Eagle Ridge subdivisions than anywhere else in the St. Cloud metro. Those early-2000s two-stories have wide oak staircases — straight runs that take a standard rail in about three hours. The carpeted stairs in Eagle Ridge are even quicker because you don't need tread protectors.

The tricky ones are along Riverside Avenue near the river bluffs. Those homes have outdoor entry stairs with stone treads that have been through twenty Minnesota winters. Freeze-thaw moves everything a few millimeters each year, so I measure twice and use the weather-sealed outdoor rail with stainless hardware. I put one in near Watab Creek Park last January at 12°F — the rail performed fine through a snowstorm two days later.

If you're in a newer Vantage Point or Watab Springs home, the stair geometry is predictably modern — 14 risers, standard pitch, 36-inch width. That's a textbook straight install. But I've also done curved rails in some of the older Mill District conversions where the staircase turns 90 degrees at a landing. Every job in Sartell is within about 25 minutes of my shop, so I can usually be at your door the day after you call for a measurement.

— Luis Ramírez, Sartell
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Sartell's housing stock tilts heavily toward homes built since the 1990s — which is actually good news for stairlift installation. Modern staircases have consistent riser heights and standard tread widths that make measurement quick and rail fabrication precise. Whether you're in a Daybreak two-story, a Pine Cone Road split-level, or one of the older riverside homes off Riverside Avenue, the install is typically done in a single morning.

The St. Cloud VA Medical Center on Veterans Drive is about 10 minutes from any Sartell address, so HISA grant paperwork moves through their prosthetics department fast — most Sartell veterans I work with have their grant approved within four to six weeks. Combined with Minnesota's Elderly Waiver EAA benefit for non-veterans, most Sartell households have a funding path that covers a straight lift outright. Call the office. I'll measure your stairs and give you a written quote the same day.
