Stairlift Service Across Sarasota County

Sarasota County, FL

Laurel Park and McClellan Park homes date to the 1920s with original hardwood banisters we never touch — curved rails navigate landing turns without removing a single spindle. Southgate and Gulf Gate Estates are 1950s–60s concrete-block construction requiring masonry anchors; we carry the rotary hammer on every Sarasota truck. Sapphire Shores waterfront properties get salt-air-sealed hardware as standard. Downtown condo conversions require us to work around unusual stair geometries and occasional HOA paperwork — we keep templates on file for the major buildings. Gillespie Park and North Sarasota bungalows round out the mix with postwar two-stories where most installs are straight-rail and finish in under four hours.

McClellan Park Mediterranean Revival — straight rail on dark tile treads, original mahogany banister preserved

McClellan Park, FL Installed March 2026

A 1928 Mediterranean Revival in McClellan Park with dark tile stair treads and an original mahogany banister the family refused to modify. Three previous installers had insisted spindles would need to come out. We bolted the straight rail directly into the tile treads on the right side of the staircase — self-supporting, never touching the banister, the plaster walls, or any original millwork. The seat parks at the bottom landing in the entry foyer. Mrs. Alderman rides to the second-floor hallway via the swivel-exit seat at the top. Every mahogany spindle remains exactly where it has been for 98 years.

Laurel Park Craftsman bungalow — curved rail navigating 90° turn under the original plaster arch

Laurel Park, FL Installed February 2026

A 1926 Craftsman bungalow in Laurel Park with a staircase that turns 90 degrees at the upper landing beneath an original plaster arch. Mr. Hensley’s daughter in Chicago had been pressing him to move to a single-story for two years. We laser-scanned the full staircase geometry, fabricated a single continuous curved rail that follows the turn under the arch without touching the plaster, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the upper landing. Mr. Hensley called his daughter that evening to say he had slept upstairs for the first time in a year. The bungalow stays in the family.

Southgate concrete-block ranch — masonry-anchored rail with swivel-exit seat

Southgate, FL Installed January 2026

A 1963 concrete-block ranch in Southgate with poured concrete stair treads under carpet. The first company had quoted wood-screw anchors that would have pulled out of the masonry within a year under rider load. We drilled into the concrete treads with a rotary hammer and anchored with stainless sleeve anchors rated for shear. The seat sits at the bottom landing in the entry. Mr. Bergmann steps off onto the hallway floor at the top via the swivel-exit seat. Six months in, not a single squeak or movement.

Outdoor

Sapphire Shores waterfront — outdoor stairlift on exterior stone entry steps, salt-air sealed

Sapphire Shores, FL Installed December 2025

The Wilson family’s waterfront home on Sarasota Bay had a raised front porch with nine exterior stone steps fully exposed to salt air and Gulf sun. We installed an outdoor stairlift seat on a straight rail bolted through the stone paving into the concrete footer with stainless marine-grade fasteners. The sealed IP54 motor housing and UV-stabilized seat material handle year-round Gulf Coast exposure. Mr. Wilson had asked specifically what would happen to the motor in year three — two storm seasons in, the lift looks and runs exactly as it did on install day.

Gillespie Park two-story — low-profile rail for a retired architect who cared about design

Gillespie Park, FL Installed November 2025

A two-story in Gillespie Park owned by a retired architect who had researched every stairlift manufacturer before calling. Mr. Vargas wanted the rail to disappear into the staircase, not announce itself. We specified the low-profile model in matte warm-white to match the wall trim, bolted the rail into the tread edges on the right side, and positioned the seat to park at the mid-landing between floors. From the great room, the rail reads as millwork rather than medical equipment. He said it was the only stairlift he would have accepted in his own home.

Platform Lift

North Sarasota bungalow — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift, HISA-funded veteran install

North Sarasota, FL Installed October 2025

A referral from Bay Pines VA Healthcare System: a retired Army sergeant in North Sarasota with a service-connected hip injury requiring wheelchair use. The 1958 bungalow had a straight interior staircase connecting the lower entry to the main living level. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip deck and bright yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The platform rides along a white rail up the interior stairway. Sgt. Darnell rolls on at the bottom and rolls off at the top without ever leaving his chair. The HISA grant covered the full installed cost.

Common Questions

Everything Sarasota Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Sarasota right now?

Straight rails in a standard Sarasota two-story — Southgate concrete-block ranches, newer Sarasota Square-area colonials, Gulf Gate Estates homes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Laurel Park and McClellan Park homes with landing turns and historic banisters, and for Sarasota Bayfront properties with split-level waterfront entries, run $9,000 to $15,000. Outdoor weather-sealed rails for waterfront entries and raised porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, installation labor, and the first service visit.

Is there a premium for waterfront or bayfront homes in Sarasota?

No. For homes within a mile of Sarasota Bay or the Gulf — Sapphire Shores, Harbor Acres, Indian Beach, downtown waterfront condos, Siesta Key access — every install ships with stainless-steel fasteners, a sealed IP54 motor housing, and marine-grade powder coat as part of the standard Sarasota quote. Salt-air hardware is not an add-on; it’s the spec.

Do you offer financing if I don’t qualify for VA or Medicaid benefits?

Yes. Three lending partners offer 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans starting at $79/month. The application is a soft credit pull with no impact to your score, takes four minutes, and approval is typically immediate. Many Sarasota families combine financing with the IRS medical expense deduction or a partial HISA grant to bring the monthly cost down further.

What does the IRS medical deduction actually mean in dollar terms for a Sarasota homeowner?

If a licensed physician recommends the stairlift in writing — we provide a template letter — the IRS classifies the full installation cost as a qualified medical expense under Schedule A. For Sarasota homeowners who itemize, the full cost reduces taxable income, typically worth $600 to $2,400 back depending on your bracket. You must itemize rather than take the standard deduction. Our office can help you assess whether itemizing makes sense for your situation.

A word from Luis

Sarasota is one of the most architecturally varied markets I work in — on the same street you’ll find a 1920s Mediterranean Revival, a 1950s concrete-block ranch, and a 2010s condo tower, each with completely different stair geometry and anchor conditions.

My promise to Sarasota homeowners: on-site within 24 hours across Sarasota County, a written quote honored for 30 days, and marine-grade hardware included on every install within a mile of the Gulf or the Bay. Veterans — I pre-fill your HISA paperwork and coordinate with Bay Pines directly so you never have to make that call yourself.
