1942 Santa Rita bungalow — straight rail on original oak hardwood treads

Santa Rita, TX Installed March 2026

A 1942 bungalow in Santa Rita with 14 original quarter-sawn oak treads and a walnut banister that hasn't been touched since the Dawson family moved in during the Eisenhower years. Mrs. Dawson had been sleeping on the living room sofa for three weeks after knee surgery at Shannon Medical Center because the stairs were off-limits. Her daughter in Dallas called on a Tuesday. We drove over Wednesday morning, measured the 15-foot run with a laser, confirmed the solid oak could accept the mounting hardware without splitting, and installed Friday. The rail parks flush against the wall at the bottom and the pier-and-beam foundation settling required shimming two brackets to keep the ride perfectly smooth. Mrs. Dawson slept in her own bed Friday night for the first time in a month.

1965 Paulann ranch — curved rail around a 90° landing turn at upper hallway

Paulann, TX Installed February 2026

A split-level ranch built during the Goodfellow expansion in 1965, with six steps from the front entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then nine more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Gutierrez served at Goodfellow and has lived in this house since 1972. Two companies from San Antonio told his wife they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. His VA primary care provider at the Powell Clinic wrote the HISA prescription, and the $6,800 grant covered most of the cost. One ride, zero transfers.

Fort Concho stone cottage — slim-profile straight rail on narrow limestone-trimmed stairs

Fort Concho, TX Installed January 2026

A 1950s stone cottage near Fort Concho with a staircase only 32 inches wide between the limestone-trimmed wall and the banister. Standard-width rails would have blocked the walking path entirely. We specified the slim-profile model — the folded seat and rail together take up just 11 inches, leaving 21 inches of clear passage. Mrs. Hargrove's mother had a stroke and lives alone; her daughter is three hours away in Dallas. The All American crew installed a straight rail in four hours and trained the family on remotes, seatbelt, and manual crank. Mrs. Hargrove's mother hasn't missed a night in her own bedroom since.

Belaire ranch — outdoor lift on stone-paved front porch steps

Belaire, TX Installed December 2025

A 1970s ranch in Belaire with a raised front entry and six flagstone steps that bake to 150°F surface temperature by July and ice over in winter. Mrs. Caldwell's husband couldn't hold the iron railing in summer heat and couldn't trust the footing in winter. We installed a straight outdoor rail along the side of the porch stairs with stainless fasteners into the flagstone stringer. Every component is UV-stabilized for 2,000+ hours of West Texas sun, the motor housing carries an IP55 seal against the spring dust storms that blow through Tom Green County, and the battery is rated for repeated 105°F-plus summer days. The Caldwells use it year-round without thinking about weather.

Bentwood two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs, same-day install

Bentwood, TX Installed November 2025

A 1990s two-story in Bentwood with wide, carpeted stairs and a homeowner scheduled for hip replacement surgery at Shannon Medical Center the following month. Mr. Franklin wanted the stairlift installed and tested before surgery so he could come home and recover without worrying about the stairs. We measured on a Monday and installed the same week — 2.5 hours on site. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath, no carpet removal and no damage to the pile. The seat folds flat against the wall and the grandchildren who visit from Midland run up and down without ever bumping into it. Mr. Franklin rode it for the first time the afternoon of install and said it was smoother than he expected.

Platform Lift

Central San Angelo — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Central San Angelo, TX Installed October 2025

A 1960s split-level near the Concho Riverwalk. Mr. Ramos is a disabled veteran who served at Goodfellow and uses a power wheelchair full-time. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed a vertical platform lift with enclosed cab, yellow high-visibility pressure-sensitive safety edges on the platform and gate thresholds, and a keyed lockout so the grandchildren can't activate it unsupervised. The VA HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum, and his STAR+PLUS MCO coordinator covered the remaining balance. Mr. Ramos rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and exits on the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything San Angelo Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in San Angelo right now?

Straight rails for the standard two-story homes in Bentwood and the ranch-style houses in Paulann run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the split-level ranches with landing turns common across Paulann and Belaire run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Do you charge travel fees to San Angelo from a bigger city?

No. This is the number-one complaint we hear from San Angelo families — companies in San Antonio, Dallas, or Austin quoting $300 to $500 travel surcharges just to come measure. We don't charge travel fees anywhere in Tom Green County. The price you see on your written quote is the price you pay, with no mileage add-ons for Grape Creek, Christoval, Miles, or anywhere else in the Concho Valley region.

Is the price different for older pier-and-beam homes in Santa Rita versus newer construction in Bentwood?

Equipment cost is the same. What can add 30 to 60 minutes of labor time is shimming the rail brackets in pier-and-beam homes where foundation settling has pitched the treads unevenly. This is common in the 1940s Santa Rita bungalows and some Fort Concho stone cottages. We tell you about any shimming labor on the written quote before you sign — no surprise charges after the fact.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home in San Angelo?

Moving costs in Tom Green County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $12,000 to $25,000 minimum. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've lived in for decades, in the neighborhood you know, near Shannon Medical Center and the Powell VA Clinic. For most San Angelo families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

A word from Luis

San Angelo families call after a scare on the stairs — a slip on the carpeted run in a Paulann ranch, a father who hasn't been upstairs since knee surgery at Shannon Medical Center, a daughter in Dallas three hours away worried about her mother in a stone cottage near Fort Concho. The Concho Valley doesn't have a dozen stairlift companies to choose from. Most of the calls I take, the family has already been quoted a $300–$500 travel surcharge by a company in San Antonio or Austin.

We don't charge travel fees anywhere in Tom Green County. I drive to your house, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
