Calhoun County, AL

Saks sits between Anniston to the south and Weaver to the northwest. The Saks Road corridor has ranch-style homes from the 1960s-70s, most with straight interior staircases to a second floor. Straight

Straight Rail on Original Oak — 1970s Ranch

Saks Road Corridor, AL Installed March 2026

The Owens family has lived on Saks Road since 1988. Their 1970s ranch had a straight oak staircase to the second floor — 13 treads, standard rise. After Mrs. Owens had a knee replacement, Luis installed a beige Bruno straight-rail lift in about three hours. The rail bolted directly into the treads without touching the original hardwood banister.

Curved Rail at the Landing — Lenlock Split-Level

Lenlock, AL Installed February 2026

The Pattersons bought their Lenlock split-level in 1992. The stairs turn 90 degrees at a half-landing — a tight radius where a straight rail wouldn't work. Luis took a 1-hour laser measurement, and the custom-bent curved rail arrived two weeks later. Installed in five hours. The brown seat parks at the upper landing under the chandelier, out of the walking path.

Stone Treads, Straight Rail — Compact Golden Springs Rancher

Golden Springs, AL Installed January 2026

The Harris family's Golden Springs home is a compact 1970s rancher with stone-tread stairs leading to a finished basement. The stone treads meant slightly longer bolt-setting, but the straight rail went in cleanly in about four hours. The brown Bruno seat sits near a wooden sideboard at the bottom of the stairs, folding up when not in use.

Weather-Sealed Porch Lift — Sloping Lot Near Choccolocco Creek

Choccolocco Creek area, AL Installed April 2026

The Bennetts live on a sloping lot near Choccolocco Creek, where the backyard deck sits eight feet above ground level with rough stone-paved steps. Luis installed a weather-sealed outdoor Bruno lift on the exterior stone steps in under three hours. IP55-rated with a marine-grade finish. The cream-colored seat has held up through Alabama summer storms and January frost.

Carpeted Stairs, Quick Install — Older Wellborn Frame Home

Wellborn, AL Installed March 2026

The Foster family lives in an older frame home in Wellborn with carpeted stairs — 12 treads, beige cut-pile that matched the brown Bruno seat almost exactly. Luis installed the straight rail in three hours, bolting through the carpet into the treads underneath. The seat folds up tight against the rail at the bottom landing near the tiled entry floor.

Platform Lift

Inclined Wheelchair Platform — Full-Time Chair User in Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain, AL Installed February 2026

Mr. Reynolds uses a wheelchair full-time. His Blue Mountain home has an indoor staircase where a seat lift wouldn't work — he needed to ride the chair up. Luis installed an inclined platform lift with a black flat deck and yellow safety edges. The platform folds up against the wall when not in use. Installed in about five hours on a straight interior staircase with a white handrail.

Common Questions

Everything Saks Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Saks?

A straight stairlift in Saks starts at $2,800 installed. Curved models start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts begin at $4,000. These prices include the in-home assessment, rail, carriage, installation labor, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. The final price depends on the number of turns (for curved), rail length, and any additional features like a power swivel seat.

Are there hidden fees beyond the installation cost for Saks homeowners?

No. The quoted price includes everything — the assessment, the rail, the carriage with seat, installation labor, and warranty registration. We don't charge extra for travel to Saks, removing old carpet tack strips along the rail path, or walking you through how to operate the lift. If your stairs need a permit from Calhoun County, we handle that paperwork at no added cost.

How does stairlift pricing in Saks compare to Birmingham or Atlanta?

Saks pricing runs about 10-15% lower than what you'd see quoted in metro Birmingham. Labor and overhead are lower in Calhoun County, and we pass that through. You're not paying big-city markup for the same Bruno or Harmar equipment installed by the same certified technicians who cover northeast Alabama.

Do you offer financing for Saks residents?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month. We work with several lenders who offer 0% interest for 12-18 months on approved credit. The application takes about five minutes, and you'll know before we leave the assessment whether you're approved. No prepayment penalty if you pay it off early.

A word from Luis

I've installed lifts in Saks for over a decade now. The housing stock here tells a story — most homes along Saks Road and over in Lenlock went up between 1965 and 1985, when two-story floor plans and split-levels were standard. That means a lot of straight staircases, but also a fair number of half-landing turns where the stairs change direction. I know which homes near Saks Elementary have the narrow treads, which ones in Golden Springs have the steep pitch, and which properties near Choccolocco Creek sit on enough of a slope to need an outdoor lift for the back deck.

The thing about Saks is that people stay. When I pull up to a house for an estimate, I'm usually talking to someone who's been in that home 25 or 30 years. They don't want to leave — they want to keep using their upstairs bedroom and bathroom. A straight rail install takes me about three hours, and I've done enough of them on Saks Road alone to know exactly how the treads handle the bolts. If your stairs turn at a landing, we come out with the laser measurement tool and get the rail bent to match — usually about two weeks from measurement to install day.

For veterans in the Saks area — and there are quite a few, given how close we are to the Anniston Army Depot and the old Fort McClellan — I walk families through the HISA grant paperwork at the kitchen table during the assessment. The Anniston/Oxford VA Clinic over on Ali Way processes these regularly, and the $6,800 for service-connected vets covers most straight-rail installs outright.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Saks is the kind of place where people don't move unless they have to — and a stairlift usually means they don't have to. With most homes built between 1965 and 1985, the floor plans are familiar to us: straight ranch staircases, split-level landings, steep outdoor porch steps on sloping Choccolocco Creek lots. We've installed on all of them.

Whether you're on Saks Road, over in Lenlock, or out toward Blue Mountain, the process is the same: a free assessment at your home, an honest recommendation based on your actual stairs, and an install that usually wraps up the same week. Call or fill out the form — Luis will come out, measure, and give you a firm number before he leaves.
