Stairlift Service Across Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County, CA

From the 1950s TRW Tract bungalows in North Redondo — where the reversed floor plan puts the kitchen and living room upstairs, the staircase is steep and narrow, and the rail has to be slim-profile to leave clearance for the homeowner's walker — to the wide-lot mid-century ranches of South Redondo along The Esplanade and the Riviera Village, where split-level entries and raised front porches are the norm, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in the city.

Straight

1954 TRW Tract bungalow — straight rail on original hardwood treads

TRW Tract, CA Installed March 2026

A 1954 TRW Tract bungalow in North Redondo with original dark hardwood treads on a straight staircase from the entry level to the upstairs kitchen and living room. Mrs. Kowalski, a retired Northrop engineer's widow, had been sleeping on the downstairs couch for three months because she couldn't manage the stairs to her own kitchen. We bolted the straight rail directly into the hardwood treads with stainless fasteners — marine-grade hardware standard on every Redondo install — and mounted a folding seat that parks flush against the wall at the bottom landing. The wood was never cut or damaged. Three-hour install, and she was back cooking in her own kitchen that evening.

Curved

South Redondo split-level — curved rail past the mid-landing turn

South Redondo, CA Installed February 2026

A 1959 split-level three blocks from the Riviera Village with a mid-landing 90-degree turn and original oak banisters the family refused to let anyone touch. Mr. Matsuda's mother moved in after a stroke and needed the full run from the entry to the upper bedrooms in a single ride. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads the landing turn without grazing the banister, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps off onto the hallway floor. Stainless fasteners and marine-grade rail coating came standard.

Villas North two-story — straight rail on wide stairs, three-hour install

Villas North, CA Installed January 2026

A 1966 two-story in Villas North with wide builder-standard stairs and a white-painted banister. Mrs. Brennan wanted the rail invisible from the front entry. We specified the slim-profile model in white to match the existing risers, mounted the chair flush against the wall at the bottom landing next to the sideboard in the hallway, and wrapped the entire job in three hours. The soft-start motor is quiet enough for her to use at 5:30 AM without waking anyone down the hall.

El Nido ranch — weather-sealed outdoor rail on raised stone-paved front entry

El Nido, CA Installed December 2025

A 1961 ranch in El Nido with a raised front entry and six concrete steps that Mrs. Delgado's daughter described as 'the reason Mom hasn't left the house since August.' The front porch faces west — full afternoon sun year-round and the marine layer sitting on the stone paving every morning until 10 AM. We anchored the rail through the stone-paved steps into the footer, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and installed a cream weather-sealed seat with UV-stabilized upholstery. Mrs. Delgado walked to her mailbox the day after install for the first time in four months.

Golden Hills tall-and-skinny — compact seat on carpeted stairs

Golden Hills, CA Installed November 2025

A tall-and-skinny on the Golden Hills slope with a steep carpeted staircase climbing two full stories at a wall-to-wall width of just 26 inches. Two other companies told Mr. Odom a stairlift would not fit. We installed the compact-seat model with a folding footrest that brings the total profile below 14 inches when parked, leaving 12 inches of clearance for his wife to walk past. The rail bolts through the carpet and pad into the treads, and the seat tones blend with the brown carpet. He rides to the upper living level three times a day.

Platform Lift

North Redondo colonial — indoor wheelchair platform lift for power chair user

North Redondo, CA Installed October 2025

A 1968 colonial in North Redondo where Mr. Warren uses a power wheelchair after a double knee replacement at Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride from the entry level to the main living floor in his chair without transferring. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges around the perimeter, and interlocked gates at each level that won't open until the platform is fully stopped. The orange-toned hallway walls frame the white handrail cleanly. His physical therapist cleared him to ride independently the day after install.

Common Questions

Everything Redondo Beach Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Redondo Beach right now?

Straight rails in standard Redondo Beach homes — the TRW Tract bungalows, the Villas North two-stories, the El Nido ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level entries and mid-landing turns in South Redondo and Golden Hills homes run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and marine-sealed models for raised front porches and exterior entry steps run $4,000 to $7,500.

Does the salt air near the beach affect stairlift pricing?

No upcharge. Every install in Redondo Beach gets stainless fasteners and marine-grade rail coating as standard — the entire city sits within five miles of the Pacific. We made this a blanket policy in 2018 after seeing standard zinc-plated hardware pit within three to four seasons on South Bay installs.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30–40% — we carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never an option because the rail is custom-manufactured to a specific staircase geometry.

Do you charge extra for HOA or condo association paperwork?

No. Our quote includes the accommodation packet we prepare for you. California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) requires HOAs and condo associations to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities — this is stronger than the federal standard.

A word from Luis

Most Redondo Beach families call me after a fall on the stairs in a 1950s TRW Tract bungalow or a close call on the front steps of a North Redondo split-level. The conversation usually starts the same way: a grown child in Santa Monica or Irvine, worried about a parent alone in the house she's owned since the aerospace days.

My job is simple: drive to your door within 24 hours, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
