Straight Stairlift

Bestseller

The standard for Redding's single-story ranches and 1960s split-levels across Shasta County. Over 65% of the stairlifts we install in Redding are straight models. The rail bolts directly into your stair treads — never the wall — and the seat folds flat against the rail when not in use. Every unit ships with sealed IP54 motor housings rated for the 105-degree Central Valley summers and the fine ash that settles during wildfire season. Battery backup keeps you moving through the next PG&E shutoff. Most Redding installs wrap in under four hours.

Starting at $3,150 installed

Stairlift Service Across Shasta County

Shasta County, CA

From the 1960s ranches of Sunset Terrace with original oak treads and wide post-war stairs, to the Buckeye Terrace neighborhood in southeast Redding where compact homes and narrow treads are standard, to the 1970s split-levels in Enterprise east of Highway 44 where a 90-degree landing turn makes a straight rail impossible — our team has mapped every staircase configuration in the Redding market. We know which Westwood ranch houses install in three hours flat, which Gold Hills hillside homes need outdoor-rated stone anchoring on raised front porches, and which North Hilltop two-stories off Hilltop Drive have the ceiling height for an indoor platform lift. We also cover Palo Cedro, Shasta Lake, Happy Valley, Bella Vista, and Centerville with no travel fee.

1960s Sunset Terrace ranch — straight rail on original oak treads

Sunset Terrace, CA Installed March 2026

A 1965 ranch-style home in Sunset Terrace with original hardwood oak treads and a straight 14-step run from the ground floor to the bedrooms. Mrs. Engstrom had been sleeping on the living room couch for three weeks after knee surgery. Her daughter in Sacramento found us online and called on a Monday. We measured Tuesday morning, confirmed the oak treads were solid enough to hold the mounting brackets without reinforcement, and installed Thursday afternoon. The rail color was matched to the existing oak grain so it blends with the original 1960s woodwork.

Enterprise split-level — curved rail around 90° landing turn

Enterprise, CA Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level in the Enterprise neighborhood east of Highway 44 — six steps from the foyer to the main level, a 90-degree landing, then eight more steps up to the bedrooms. Two other companies told the Dekkers they would need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the full staircase on the first visit, fabricated a single continuous curved rail that carries Mr. Dekker from the front entry to the upstairs hallway in one ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so he steps off onto the carpet instead of the top tread.

Buckeye cottage with stone-faced entry steps — straight rail, stone anchors

Buckeye Terrace, CA Installed January 2026

A 1950s cottage-style home in the Buckeye Terrace neighborhood with stone-faced entry steps and narrow treads. Mr. Pratt is 84 and still drives himself to the Redding VA Clinic on Hartnell Avenue every other week, but the interior stairs had become impossible after a stroke left his right side weakened. The stone facing on the lower three steps required masonry-rated anchor bolts instead of standard wood screws — we drilled and epoxied the brackets into the stone substrate and tested every safety sensor before handing over the remote.

Gold Hills raised porch — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

Gold Hills, CA Installed December 2025

A hillside home in Gold Hills with a raised front porch, seven exterior stone-paved steps, and direct afternoon sun exposure that pushes surface temperatures above 140 degrees in July. Mrs. Caldwell uses a walker and could no longer manage the front entry. We mounted an outdoor-rated straight rail along the stone paving with stainless anchors, sealed the motor housing to IP55 against both the summer heat and the fine wildfire ash that blankets Redding every August through October. The rail has a UV-resistant powder coat and a debris brush guard at the base.

Westwood ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs, same-day install

Westwood, CA Installed November 2025

A 1970s ranch in the Westwood neighborhood near the Westwood Village shopping center with fully carpeted stairs and a straight 12-step run. Mrs. Tanaka is 79 and had been managing the stairs by sitting on each step and scooting up backwards — her granddaughter caught her doing it on a video call and called us the next morning. The carpet was thick enough that we used extended mounting brackets to bite through the padding into the subfloor beneath. Install took three hours. Mrs. Tanaka tested the ride six times before we left.

Platform Lift

North Hilltop home — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

North Hilltop, CA Installed October 2025

A two-story home off Hilltop Drive where Mr. Vasquez, a retired firefighter and wheelchair user, needed full-chair access to the upstairs bedroom level. A seated stairlift was not an option — his physical therapist at Mercy Medical Center Redding advised against repeated transfers. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with bright yellow high-visibility safety edges along the platform perimeter and an interlocked gate at each level. The flat black anti-slip platform rides along the indoor stairway, and Mr. Vasquez rolls on, presses one button, and rides directly to the upper floor without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Redding Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Redding right now?

Straight rails in standard Redding homes — the 1960s ranches in Sunset Terrace, the cottages in Buckeye, the split-levels in Enterprise — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most split-level homes with mid-landing turns, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models sealed for the Shasta County heat and fire season run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Redding because it's rural and remote?

Equipment prices are identical across all of California — we do not inflate quotes for rural or remote addresses. What occasionally varies is install labor when unusual conditions apply: masonry anchors for stone-faced steps in older Buckeye homes, foundation-settlement shims in 1950s cottages, or a dedicated electrical circuit in a pre-1960 home with original 60-amp service. We itemize every line on the quote before you sign. No surprise surcharges after the fact.

Does the extreme Redding heat affect the price or the unit?

Not the price — the specification. Every unit we install in Shasta County ships with sealed IP54 motor housings, heat-rated lithium battery cells, and high-temperature lubricant in the rail gearing as a baseline, not an upgrade. The 105-degree Central Valley summers thin standard lubricants and the wildfire ash from August through October drives particulate into unsealed motors. We build those conditions into every Redding install at no extra charge.

How does the cost compare to moving or assisted living in Shasta County?

A straight stairlift in Redding runs $2,800 to $5,500 — one-time, installed. Moving to a single-story home in the Shasta County market costs $50,000 or more in selling, buying, and relocation fees. Assisted living in Shasta County averages $4,500 per month — that is $54,000 per year. An in-home caregiver at 8 hours a day runs roughly $6,000 per month. A home elevator requires $25,000 to $50,000 in construction. The stairlift is the lowest-cost option by a wide margin and keeps you in the home you already own.

A word from Luis

Most Redding families call me after the same story — a fall on the stairs in a 1960s ranch off Hilltop Drive, a parent in Shasta Hills Estates who stopped going upstairs after a hip replacement, a daughter in Sacramento worried about her father alone in a Westwood split-level all winter.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. I know the 105-degree summers thin cheap lubricants and the Carr Fire smoke season drives ash into rail gearing — every unit I install in Shasta County ships with sealed IP54 motor housings as baseline. En español si lo prefiere.
