Straight Stairlift

Bestseller

The standard for Ahwatukee, Desert Ridge, and North Scottsdale two-story tract homes. About 30% of Valley stairlift installs are interior straight rails — almost all in the 1990s-2010s tract-home belts: Ahwatukee Foothills, Desert Ridge, North Scottsdale, Estrella Mountain Ranch, Anthem. The rail bolts directly into the stair treads (never into drywall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through a summer monsoon outage. Most Valley interior installs wrap in under four hours.

Starting at $3,200 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls
  • Soft start and soft stop motion
  • Fold-up seat, arms, and footrest
  • 10-year motor & gearbox warranty

Compared to Alternatives

vs Curved: 3x less expensive and installed in one visit. vs Home elevator: 10-15x less cost and no construction. vs Moving bedroom downstairs: Keeps your home exactly as it is.

Stairlift Service Across Maricopa County

Maricopa County, AZ

From the Sun City ranches where the need is almost always a garage-entry lift to the Paradise Valley estates where the rail has to disappear into a custom staircase, from the Ahwatukee Foothills tract two-stories to the Arcadia 1960s mid-centuries with preserved original floors, our team has mapped every neighborhood in the Valley. We know which Desert Ridge subdivisions have the narrow turn at the upper landing, which Scottsdale communities require an architectural review board submission, which Mesa Leisure World buildings have the specific front-porch drop that matches our standard outdoor platform, and which Chandler Sun Lakes floor plans only need a threshold ramp instead of a full lift.

Ahwatukee Foothills two-story — straight rail on dark hardwood treads

Ahwatukee Foothills, AZ Installed March 2026

A 2004 Pulte two-story in Ahwatukee with original dark oak hardwood treads and an open-tread staircase leading up from the front entry. Luis color-matched the rail bracket finish to the warm oak tones and bolted the straight rail directly into the tread nosing — no wall penetration, no banister contact. The beige seat folds flat at the bottom landing, leaving the full stair width open for other family members. Mrs. Chen's mother visits from Taipei twice a year, and the stairs had always been a barrier — now she rides up independently.

Paradise Valley estate — 180° curved rail parked at the upper landing

Paradise Valley, AZ Installed February 2026

A 1998 custom home at the base of Mummy Mountain with a sweeping architectural staircase and an upscale modern interior — chandelier above, framed art on the walls, open balusters along a half-wall balustrade. Luis laser-scanned the geometry on the first visit and fabricated a slim-profile curved rail in a bronze finish that threads the 90-degree curve at the upper landing. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the top floor, where Mrs. Lindqvist steps off directly onto the hallway. The rail is invisible from the living room below.

Arcadia mid-century cottage — straight rail on stone treads in a compact stairway

Arcadia, AZ Installed January 2026

A 1962 mid-century on a citrus-shaded lot south of Camelback with original terrazzo and stone treads in a compact stairway — a wooden sideboard with a potted plant sits at the base. The home had been carefully preserved and Dr. Hollister insisted nothing could be drilled into the walls. The straight rail bolts into the stone treads themselves, self-supporting, and the brown-upholstered seat parks at the bottom next to the sideboard. A traditional, cozy interior with the cottage warmth these Arcadia mid-centuries are known for.

Sun City ranch — outdoor porch lift on stone-paved front entry

Sun City, AZ Installed December 2025

A single-story 1978 Sun City ranch with a stone-paved front entry and raised porch steps that Mr. Kowalski, 82, could no longer manage after knee surgery. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat rides a straight outdoor rail from the rough natural stone paving at ground level up to the covered porch landing. Every component is sealed against Arizona monsoon dust and UV-stabilized for 125°F surface temps. We submitted the RCSC architectural committee paperwork on a Monday, got approved Thursday, and installed the following Tuesday.

Desert Ridge tract home — straight rail on carpeted stairs at a landing

Desert Ridge, AZ Installed November 2025

A 2006 tract home in Desert Ridge with carpeted stairs and a small landing area — the brown carpet on the treads nearly matches the brown upholstery of the seat. Luis anchored the straight rail through the carpet into the treads, positioned the seat at the landing where wall-mounted light switches and the tiled entry floor below are visible. Mrs. Avery's daughter coordinated the purchase from out of state and joined the final walkthrough remotely. The seat folds flush when not in use, leaving the carpeted stairway fully passable.

Platform Lift

Glendale townhouse — inclined wheelchair platform lift for Sra. Mendoza

Glendale, AZ Installed October 2025

A 1989 two-story townhouse in west Glendale near Luke AFB. Sra. Mendoza uses a wheelchair and cannot transfer to a standard seated stairlift, so we installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail, riding an indoor stairway with orange-toned walls and a window at the landing. Luis conducted the entire consultation, measurement, and operating walkthrough in Spanish, twice at Sra. Mendoza's request. Her daughter in Albuquerque called three days later to say her mother had finally gone upstairs to her bedroom for the first time since April.

Common Questions

Everything Phoenix Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in the Phoenix metro right now?

Straight rails in standard Ahwatukee, Desert Ridge, and North Scottsdale two-story tract homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed in Paradise Valley custom estates and the rare Arcadia split-level — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is laser-scanned and fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor porch lifts and garage-entry lifts, which are the most common Phoenix install because most Valley homes are single-story ranches, run $3,500 to $7,000 depending on rise and weather package. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the ROC-licensed installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first six-month dust-check service visit.

Why do Phoenix quotes often include an outdoor lift instead of an interior one?

Because roughly 70% of Valley homes are single-story ranches — particularly in Sun City, Sun City West, Sun Lakes, Leisure World, Glendale, Peoria, and most of the East Valley. There is no interior staircase to climb. The real accessibility barrier is the 3 to 6 concrete steps from the garage into the kitchen, the raised front porch, or the pool deck. We quote the right tool for the actual problem — sometimes that's a $500 threshold ramp, sometimes it's a $6,000 outdoor porch lift. We'll tell you which before you sign anything.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Phoenix-metro assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — I grew up speaking Spanish at home and work in Maryvale, South Phoenix, Guadalupe, and the West Valley Hispanic communities every week. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. It's how this business should be run in a city that is 43% Hispanic.

Any hidden fees for HOAs, Sun City, or Del Webb communities?

Our quote includes the architectural review paperwork we handle for you. We've submitted to RCSC (Recreation Centers of Sun City), RCSCW (Sun City West), the Sun Lakes HOA, PebbleCreek, Westbrook Village, Leisure World Mesa, and nearly every Pulte/Del Webb board in the Valley — the forms are already templated. What can occasionally add cost is a community that requires a separate engineer's letter for an outdoor rail. If that happens, we tell you before we start work — never after.

A word from Luis

Most of the calls I take in Phoenix don't start with a staircase — they start with the three steps from the garage into the kitchen. Or the drop off the back patio onto the pool deck. Or the front porch at a Sun City ranch where Mom hasn't walked the dog in six months because the concrete step is too high.

My job is simple: come to your house in person, inside the 24-hour window, bring the tape measure and a ROC-licensed quote, and tell you honestly whether you need a full stairlift, an outdoor porch lift, or just a threshold ramp. No upsells. No pressure. En español si lo prefiere.
