Stairlift Service Across Peoria County

Peoria County, IL

From the 1920s worker bungalows in West Peoria — steep staircases, original oak treads, compact rail profiles required — to the postwar brick two-stories in Peoria Heights where 90-degree landings make straight rails geometrically impossible, every Peoria neighborhood has its own install signature. The Bellevue and Norwood neighborhoods along the Illinois River bluffs include raised-entry homes where exterior porch steps get our cold-rated outdoor unit. We also cover Mossville, Bay View Gardens, Chillicothe, and East Peoria — same installer, no trip fees, same written quote.

1928 West Peoria bungalow — compact rail on steep original hardwood

West Peoria, IL Installed March 2026

A 1928 worker bungalow in West Peoria with a steep original staircase — 42-degree pitch, 11-inch rise, original white oak treads and stringers. The dark hardwood stairs lead from the ground floor to the bedrooms above, with the rail bolted directly into the treads on the right side. Mrs. Kowalski had been gripping the wall to go upstairs for three years. The cream-colored seat sits at the bottom landing, ready for the next ride. She called us from the top of the stairs that evening to say thank you.

Peoria Heights postwar two-story — 90° curve at the upper landing

Peoria Heights, IL Installed February 2026

A 1952 brick two-story in Peoria Heights where the staircase bends 90 degrees around a half-wall at the upper landing — a layout that made a straight rail geometrically impossible. We fabricated a curved rail to the exact geometry, and the brown-upholstered seat parks at the top-floor hallway so Mr. Sorensen steps directly onto the landing rather than the top tread. The chandelier above and framed art on the stairwell wall stayed untouched — the slim-profile rail cleared both. The Community Care Program covered $6,800 of the total project cost.

Bellevue bluffs cottage — compact rail beside the hallway sideboard

Bellevue, IL Installed January 2026

A postwar cottage in Bellevue with a compact interior staircase — stone-tile treads, a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the bottom, and a traditional Midwestern cottage feel throughout. The narrow space required our compact-profile straight rail with a fold-flat seat and folding footrest so the full tread width stays clear when parked. The brown-upholstered seat tucks neatly next to the sideboard. The Morrison family’s father was back in the upstairs bedrooms of his own home for the first time in two winters.

Norwood raised entry — outdoor porch lift on stone-paved steps

Norwood, IL Installed December 2025

A raised-entry home in Norwood where rough stone paving leads up five porch steps to the front door. Mr. Dawson, a 70-year-old veteran, could no longer manage the uneven exterior stairs after knee surgery. We installed a cream-colored weather-resistant seat on a straight outdoor rail with cold-rated components built for Central Illinois winters — stainless fasteners, sealed drive assembly, and a battery pack rated to -10°F. Natural daylight from the covered porch keeps the entry bright. The VA HISA grant through the Bob Michel VA Clinic covered $6,800 of the project.

West Peoria narrow-stringer two-story — compact profile on carpeted stairs

West Peoria, IL Installed November 2025

A 1935 West Peoria two-story where the carpeted staircase leads from a tiled landing up to the bedrooms. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones on the treads. The stringers were too narrow for a standard rail, so we fitted the compact profile and pulled a City of Peoria electrical permit for a new dedicated 20-amp circuit — the nearest outlet was on a shared living-room circuit that couldn’t handle the peak draw. Mrs. Fitzgerald was using the lift before the city inspector left the driveway.

Platform Lift

Peoria Heights three-level home — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Peoria Heights, IL Installed October 2025

The Novak family’s mother is a full-time wheelchair user who cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. Their three-level Peoria Heights home built into the bluff has an interior stairway between the garage level and the main floor. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface and high-visibility yellow safety edges along the platform perimeter. The white handrail folds down for boarding. The warm orange-terracotta walls of the stairway frame the unit, and natural light from the window keeps the space bright. The Community Care Program covered the full cost after a 58-day intake-to-approval process we helped coordinate from day one.

Common Questions

Everything Peoria Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Peoria right now?

Straight rails in standard Peoria homes — the West Peoria bungalows, the Peoria Heights brick two-stories, the postwar ranches in Bellevue — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level layouts with landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor units for raised-entry homes along the bluffs run $4,000 to $7,500 with cold-rated weather sealing. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Does an older West Peoria bungalow cost more to install in?

Not necessarily more expensive, but more planning is required. The 1920s and 1930s bungalows in West Peoria typically have steep, narrow staircases with a rise-to-run ratio that requires a compact rail profile and reinforced anchor plates. We bring both rail types to every Peoria assessment. The only scenario where cost increases is when an older home needs a dedicated 20-amp circuit near the landing — a real situation in pre-1960 Peoria homes with original 60-amp electrical panels. We tell you on the first visit, and we handle the permit.

Do you charge extra to come to Peoria Heights, Bellevue, or Mossville?

No. All of Peoria County is our service area. Peoria Heights, West Peoria, Bellevue, Norwood, Mossville, and Bay View Gardens are all included in your quote at the same labor rate. One installer, no trip fees, no mileage add-ons. The written price is the price.

Is financing available if grants don’t cover the full cost?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull, takes 4 minutes, and approval is typically same-day. Many Peoria County families combine financing with a partial Illinois Home Services Program benefit or a VA HISA grant to reduce the monthly payment significantly. We walk through the math during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Peoria has a higher disabled population than most Illinois cities — 14.6%, which is nearly five points above the state average. That shows up in my calls every week: people who’ve been managing a mobility problem for years and finally have a fall that forces the conversation, adult children who live in Chicago or the suburbs and are trying to handle this remotely, and veterans who served and came home to Peoria County and need the VA paperwork walked through by someone who’s done it before.

The housing here matters too. Peoria’s 1920s and 1930s worker bungalows in West Peoria have steep, narrow staircases that need a different rail profile than the wider brick two-stories in Peoria Heights. I bring both rail types to every first visit. Quote in hand before I leave, honored for 30 days, no pressure.
