Stairlift Service Across Barnstable County

Barnstable County, MA

Orleans splits into three villages — Orleans Center, East Orleans, and South Orleans — each with its own stairlift profile. In the Center, antique Capes along Route 6A and the Old King's Highway Historic District have steep, narrow staircase wells where a slim-rail straight lift often slots in without touching period trim. East Orleans — Nauset Heights, Pochet Neck, Tonset — mixes bluff-top contemporaries with 1950s colonials; curved rails handle the split landings common in those mid-century builds. South Orleans and Namskaket near the bayside have more ranches and cottages, where straight installs go quickly on carpeted or tile treads. And for the wheelchair-accessible builds around Arey's Pond and the newer subdivisions off Quanset Road, the platform lift gets the job done.

Straight

Bluff-Top Straight Rail in Nauset Heights

Nauset Heights, MA Installed April 2026

A Nauset Heights contemporary with dark oak treads running straight from the foyer to the second floor. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing. The rail bolts to the treads — no wall anchors needed — so the open stairwell's sightlines stay clean. Three hours, start to finish. The homeowner wanted the upstairs master bedroom back; she had it by 2pm.

90° Curved Rail in East Orleans Historic Home

East Orleans, MA Installed March 2026

An antique Cape on Main Street in the proposed East Orleans Historic District. The staircase makes a tight 90° turn at the upper landing beneath a chandelier. Custom curved rail, bent to the exact geometry from a one-hour laser measure. The brown seat parks at the top floor — the homeowner wanted to stop carrying laundry up a 34-inch-wide staircase built in 1840.

Compact Straight Install in Namskaket Cottage

Namskaket, MA Installed February 2026

A bayside cottage off Skaket Beach Road with stone tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base. Tight clearance — 30-inch staircase width — required the slim-profile rail. The brown seat tucks beside the sideboard when parked. The homeowners are year-round residents in their late 70s who wanted to age in place without remodeling their 1960s Cape.

Marine-Grade Outdoor Lift Overlooking Town Cove

Tonset, MA Installed May 2026

An outdoor porch entry in Tonset with rough stone paving and direct exposure to Town Cove salt spray. Cream seat on a weather-sealed rail — marine-grade motor housing, stainless hardware, IP55 controls. The homeowners needed to get from the driveway up eight stone steps to the front door. The lift handles nor'easter conditions six months a year without a hiccup.

Carpeted Straight Rail in South Orleans Ranch

South Orleans, MA Installed January 2026

A 1970s raised ranch off Quanset Road with carpeted treads and a tiled floor at the base. The brown seat matches the carpet tones. The rail bolted through the carpet and pad directly into the tread substrate — no subfloor issues. The homeowner's mother moved in after a hip fracture; the lift let her keep the upstairs guest suite without managing stairs on a walker.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform Lift in Orleans Center

Orleans Center, MA Installed December 2025

An Orleans Center year-round home near the rotary — two stories, no bedroom on the ground floor. Indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black deck and yellow safety edges. The homeowner uses a wheelchair full-time and hadn't been upstairs in three years. The lift rides the existing staircase; no structural changes. Luis handled the HISA grant paperwork — $6,800 covered nearly the full cost.

Common Questions

Everything Orleans Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Orleans, MA?

A straight stairlift in Orleans starts at $2,800 installed. Curved units — common in East Orleans colonials and Nauset Heights homes with split landings — start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for Cape Cod Bay-side decks run from $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. Every quote includes the rail, seat, battery backup, and labor. No hidden travel fee to the Lower Cape — Orleans, Eastham, Brewster, and Chatham are all in our standard service area.

Are there additional charges for installing a stairlift in an older Cape Cod home?

No surcharge for the age of the house. We've installed in Orleans homes dating to the 1790s and in 1980s builds — same base pricing. The only variable is whether the staircase is straight or curved. Older Capes on Route 6A and in the East Orleans historic district often have narrow treads and tight landings, but a straight rail usually fits. If the staircase turns, we measure with a laser on site and build a custom curved rail — that's where the price difference comes from, not the home's age.

How do curved and straight stairlift costs compare in Orleans?

A straight stairlift runs $2,800–$3,500 depending on rail length. A curved unit starts at $9,000 because each rail is custom-bent to match your exact staircase geometry — the 90-degree turn at the upper landing common in East Orleans colonials, the wraparound in a Nauset Heights contemporary, or the mid-run dogleg in a South Orleans raised ranch. The one-hour laser measurement at your home gives us the precise bend profile. No guesswork, no surprises.

Does All American Stairlifts offer financing in the Orleans area?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month. We also walk you through the MassHealth Frail Elder Waiver application (for Orleans residents 60+ who qualify for nursing-home level care), the VA HISA grant ($6,800 for service-connected veterans through the Hyannis VA Clinic at 233 Stevens Street), and the Massachusetts Home Modification Loan Program — a 0% interest loan up to $50,000 for accessibility work. We help with the paperwork at the free in-home assessment.

A word from Luis

Orleans homes run the whole range — 18th-century half-Capes with ladder-steep stairs off Main Street, 1970s raised ranches in South Orleans, and the newer builds out on Nauset Heights with sweeping Atlantic views. Every house teaches you something. A lot of what I do on the Lower Cape is working with narrow treads and tight landings. Old Cape staircases weren't built for comfort — they were built to get heat upstairs. We bolt the rail directly to the treads, not the wall, so we never touch the original woodwork. That matters in a town with as many historic homes as this one.

Salt air is the other thing. Outdoor installs near Skaket Beach or overlooking Town Cove need the marine-grade treatment — sealed motor housing, stainless hardware, IP55-rated controls. I've put in lifts that take nor'easter spray six months a year and still run like the day they went in. If your mom's place is one of those antique Capes where the bedroom is up a 34-inch-wide staircase, call me. I'll come out to Rock Harbor Road, measure it, and tell you honestly whether it fits. Most of the time, it does.

— Luis Ramírez, Orleans
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Orleans is the kind of town where people stay. Forty-nine percent of the year-round population is over 65 — retired teachers, Coast Guard veterans, summer people who went full-time. The housing stock reflects that: homes built between 1950 and 1999 make up the majority, and most have stairs that were fine at 50 and less fine at 75. A stairlift keeps the bedroom and bathroom upstairs usable without a move, without a remodel, and without giving up the view of Pleasant Bay.

Luis runs every Orleans install himself. He knows which antique staircase off Main Street takes two hours and which raised ranch in South Orleans takes four. Call for a free assessment — he brings the laser measure, checks the treads, and gives you a real number, not a range. No trip charge to any address in Orleans, Eastham, Brewster, or Chatham.
