Bestseller in Ogden

The workhorse of Ogden's two-story homes — from East Bench colonials to Jefferson bungalows. Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in Weber County are this model. A single straight run, the rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the cold-weather battery backup keeps you moving through the next Wasatch winter outage. Every motor is altitude-calibrated for 4,300 feet. Most Ogden installs wrap in under four hours.

Stairlift Service Across Weber County

Weber County, UT

The 25th Street Historic District's 1890s-1920s Victorians have original fir treads and narrow 28-inch stairwells — we bolt the rail into treads only, never into historic millwork. East Bench and Bonneville Hills sit higher on the Wasatch slope with 8-14 exterior steps and canyon wind that makes them icy November through March — every outdoor install ships with IP55 sealing, cold-pack batteries rated to -30°F, and stainless anchoring. T.O. Smith and Jefferson are post-war bungalows with straightforward interiors that install in three hours flat. Canyon Rim mixes newer and mid-century homes, and Mount Ogden is where we see the most garage-to-kitchen staircase installs. We also cover South Ogden, Harrisville, Washington Terrace, Riverdale, and West Haven — all Weber County, no travel surcharge.

Straight

East Bench colonial — straight rail on original oak hardwood treads

East Bench, UT Installed March 2026

A 1958 colonial on the East Bench with 14 original oak treads and a banister the family had never altered. The warm honey-toned hardwood runs the full open-tread staircase from the main floor to the bedrooms. Mr. Jensen's son at Hill AFB called us after his father fell during a January cold snap. We bolted the hardwood-matched slim-profile rail into the existing treads without touching the banister, and the seat now parks at the bottom landing on the dark oak floor. The altitude-calibrated motor runs quietly enough that his wife doesn't hear it from the kitchen.

1905 Victorian near 25th Street — curved rail through the original narrow landing turn

25th Street Historic District, UT Installed February 2026

A 1905 Victorian two blocks off 25th Street with an original Douglas fir banister and a narrow 90-degree landing turn at the upper floor. The curved rail bends around the half-wall at the upper landing, and the seat parks at the top floor where Mrs. Olsen steps off directly onto the upstairs hallway. Framed art lines the wall along the staircase and a chandelier hangs in the stairwell above — the slim-profile rail threads past the original newel post with half an inch of clearance, preserving the home's 1905 character entirely.

T.O. Smith bungalow — straight rail in a compact traditional home

T.O. Smith, UT Installed January 2026

A 1947 bungalow in T.O. Smith with stone-tile treads and a compact staircase tucked next to a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the base. The traditional cottage feel of these post-war Ogden homes means tight spaces — furniture right up against the stairs, narrow hallways, and no room for a bulky install. We ran the straight rail along the stone treads, mounted the brown-upholstered seat at the bottom near the cabinet, and the folding footrest tucks everything flat against the wall when not in use. Mr. Maughan walks past the stowed lift to reach the kitchen without squeezing.

Bonneville Hills — outdoor lift on a raised stone-paved porch entry

Bonneville Hills, UT Installed October 2025

A split-level home in Bonneville Hills with a raised front porch entry and rough natural stone paving at the ground level. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat rides from the stone-paved entry up to the covered porch, with a carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom step. Mr. Parker is a retired Air Force colonel who qualified for a HISA grant through the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System at the George E. Wahlen campus. The outdoor lift is sealed to IP55, fitted with cold-pack batteries rated to -30°F, and anchored with stainless hardware against road-salt corrosion. Natural daylight floods the entry from above. It ran through the entire 2025-2026 Wasatch winter without a service call.

Canyon Rim — straight rail on carpeted stairs for post-surgical recovery

Canyon Rim, UT Installed September 2025

A Canyon Rim home with 12 carpeted treads on an interior staircase and a landing area at the mid-point. The carpet is a warm brown tone that matches the brown-upholstered seat almost exactly — the lift blends into the staircase rather than standing out. Mr. Andersen came home from McKay-Dee Hospital after a hip replacement at 415 lbs, so we installed the bariatric model with the reinforced steel frame, 22-inch padded seat, and 600-lb capacity motor. Wall-mounted light switches line the stairwell and tiled floor meets the carpet at the bottom of the landing. His physical therapist cleared him for unassisted stairs three months later, but the family kept the lift for his wife.

Platform Lift

Bonneville Hills — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran with a spinal injury

Bonneville Hills, UT Installed August 2025

A 1970s Bonneville Hills split-level where Mrs. Sorensen's husband, a wheelchair user since a service-related spinal injury, needed full-chair access between the garage level and the upper bedrooms. A seated stairlift was not feasible — transferring from his wheelchair was medically contraindicated. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, bright yellow high-visibility safety edges along the perimeter, and white handrails on both sides. The warm orange-toned walls of the indoor stairway frame the lift, and a window lets natural light into the stairwell. He rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides to the upper floor without leaving his wheelchair. The yellow edges are high-visibility by code, not decorative.

Common Questions

Everything Ogden Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Ogden right now?

Straight rails in standard Weber County homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — common in 25th Street Victorians with narrow L-turns, Bonneville Hills split-levels, and East Bench homes with upper-landing turns — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and cold-weather-sealed models for raised entries on the East Bench run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, altitude calibration, and the first service visit.

Are there extra charges for altitude or cold-weather specs?

No. Every Ogden install ships with an altitude-calibrated motor controller (set for 4,300 feet, not the factory sea-level default) and a cold-weather battery spec rated for Wasatch winters. These are not add-ons — they are the Utah baseline on every quote we write. The equipment price in Ogden is the same as Salt Lake City, Provo, or St. George.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Weber County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for HOA installs in master-planned communities?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. Utah's Condominium Ownership Act and the federal Fair Housing Act require HOAs to approve reasonable accessibility modifications for residents with a documented medical need. We provide the FHA documentation packet at no extra cost. If a board requires its own engineer's letter, we tell you before we start — not after.

A word from Luis

Most Ogden families call me after a winter that made the stairs dangerous — a slip on hardwood treads in an East Bench Victorian, a parent who hasn't been upstairs since the first November freeze, a son at Hill AFB worried about his retired father alone in a 25th Street bungalow with a staircase built in 1912.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. I know which 25th Street floor plans have the narrow 28-inch stairwells that need our slim-profile rail and which East Bench colonials have the original oak treads worth preserving. En español si lo prefiere.
