Stairlift Service Across Middlesex County

Middlesex County, NJ

Monroe Township runs on retirement communities. Rossmoor has over 2,300 homes, many with 1970s split-level layouts where a straight stairlift fits between the half-wall and banister. Clearbrook and Concordia add nearly 3,800 more residences — mostly single-story ranches, but about 15% have full second floors with narrow staircases. Greenbriar at Whittingham is a 1,600-home gated spread where attached duplex units share stairwells that curve at the landing. Stonebridge, Renaissance, and Regency are newer luxury builds with wider treads and the occasional curved staircase off a two-story great room. Encore and The Ponds round out the east side with early-2000s condos and single-family homes.

Straight

Split-Level Straight Rail in Rossmoor

Rossmoor, NJ Installed February 2026

The DeMarcos live in one of Rossmoor's original 1970s split-levels — dark oak treads, 13 risers, about 34 inches between the half-wall and the banister. Mrs. DeMarco had been sleeping in the ground-floor den for six months. Luis measured the straight run, brought the cream-colored Acorn 130, and had the rail bolted to the treads in under three hours. The seat parks at the bottom landing.

Curved Rail Around Foyer Half-Wall in Clearbrook

Clearbrook, NJ Installed January 2026

The Shapiros' Clearbrook home has a two-story foyer with a curved staircase wrapping 90 degrees around a half-wall, chandelier hanging above the landing. Luis spent an hour on the laser measurement; the custom-bent rail arrived 10 days later. The brown leather seat parks at the upper landing, out of sight from the foyer. Mr. Shapiro uses it to reach the master suite without climbing 15 steps twice a day.

Compact Straight Rail on Tile Treads in Concordia

Concordia, NJ Installed March 2026

The Kowalskis' Concordia attached home has a compact staircase — stone tile treads, narrow width, with a wooden sideboard cabinet built into the wall at the bottom landing. The straight rail tucks tight against the wall right above the sideboard, so the cabinet doors still open. The brown seat matches the wood tones. Mrs. Kowalski, 78, uses the lift three or four times a day to reach her sewing room.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Lift in Greenbriar at Whittingham

Greenbriar at Whittingham, NJ Installed April 2026

The Riveras' Greenbriar duplex has a front porch accessed by five rough stone steps — uneven risers, no handrail on one side. After Mr. Rivera fell on those steps during a February ice storm, his daughter called us. Luis installed an IP55-rated outdoor straight lift with a marine-grade finish, bolted into the stone pavers.

Carpeted Staircase Straight Lift in Stonebridge

Stonebridge, NJ Installed May 2026

The Hendersons' Stonebridge ranch has a carpeted staircase — beige Berber, 12 risers — leading up from a tiled foyer. The straight rail mounted directly onto the carpeted treads; no tearing, no pad removal, no damage to the Berber. The brown upholstered seat blends into the carpet tones, and at the bottom landing the chair tucks neatly against the wall by the coat closet. Mrs. Henderson was cleared to use the lift two weeks post-hip surgery.

Indoor Wheelchair Platform Lift in Renaissance at Monroe

Renaissance at Monroe, NJ Installed June 2026

Mr. Chen uses a wheelchair full-time after a spinal injury and had been confined to the ground floor of his Renaissance at Monroe home since 2024. Luis installed an inclined platform lift on the straight interior staircase: flat black non-slip deck, yellow safety edges, fold-down ramp at both landings, and a white handrail. The platform carries up to 600 lb. Mr.

Common Questions

Everything Monroe Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Monroe Township?

A straight stairlift in Monroe starts at $2,800, installed. Curved lifts start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your exact stair turn after a laser measurement on site. Outdoor units start at $4,000, and heavy-duty 600 lb models start at $5,050. These prices include the rail, chair, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime coverage on the rail. Most Monroe homes fall into the straight-rail category — the standard Rossmoor or Clearbrook staircase is a straight run of 12 to 14 feet.

Does Medicare cover stairlift installation in Monroe, NJ?

No — Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover stairlifts. Medicare classifies stairlifts as home modifications, not durable medical equipment, so they are not a covered benefit. Some Medicare Advantage plans in New Jersey do offer home-modification allowances, but coverage varies by carrier. We can check your plan during the in-home assessment.

Are there any Monroe-specific discounts or programs for seniors?

Monroe Township itself does not run a stairlift subsidy program, but the statewide JACC program (Jersey Assistance for Community Caregiving) covers environmental accessibility adaptations — including stairlifts — for qualifying seniors 60 and older, capped at $1,090 per month per participant. Middlesex County's Division of Aging Services can also point you toward local grants. And we offer financing starting at $79/month with no prepayment penalty.

What's included in the quoted price for a Monroe install?

Everything. The rail, the motorized chair, the in-home measurement visit, the installation labor, a demonstration of all controls, and cleanup. We include a 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a lifetime warranty on the rail itself. No hidden trip charges for coming out to Monroe — we're based in central Jersey and serve the township daily.

A word from Luis

I've probably installed in every retirement community in Monroe Township at this point. Rossmoor alone — that's over 2,300 homes behind those gates, and I know the layouts cold. The 1970s split-levels there have a particular stair geometry: 13 risers, about 34 inches wide between the half-wall and the banister. A straight rail bolts right in. Over in Clearbrook, the bigger models have curved staircases off the foyer — those take a laser measurement and a custom-bent rail, but we do them in one morning. The newer builds, Stonebridge and Regency, have wider treads and taller risers, so the rail pitch is different. The one thing that's the same everywhere: most of these homes were not built with a chair in mind. That's where we come in.

What I tell families around here is simple. Your mom lives in Concordia, you live up in East Brunswick, you're driving down Route 18 three times a week just to make sure she can get to her bedroom. A stairlift ends that drive. Call me. I'll come measure the stairs, talk through which model makes sense, and we can have it in by the end of the week. No remodel, no contractor — just a rail bolted to the treads.

— Luis Ramírez, Monroe
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Monroe Township is unlike most towns in New Jersey — it was built, deliberately, for retirement. That means the housing stock is dense with age-restricted communities, the local services are oriented toward seniors, and the demand for stairlifts is higher here than almost anywhere else in Middlesex County. If you live in Rossmoor, Clearbrook, Concordia, or any of the other 55+ developments in town, you already know: the stairs are the one part of the house that didn't age with you.

We keep a full inventory of straight and curved rails in our New Jersey warehouse, which means Monroe installs happen fast — often within 3 to 5 business days of the in-home measurement. Whether it's a straight run in a Greenbriar duplex or a custom-bent curved rail for a Renaissance great-room staircase, the rail bolts to the treads, plugs into a standard outlet, and runs on battery backup when the power cuts. Call Luis at (800) 965-0350 or reach him at [email protected] for a free assessment.
