Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Stanislaus County

Stanislaus County, CA

La Loma and the College Area are Modesto's core stairlift market — 1950s-1970s ranches with narrow stairwells, original wood banisters, and steep treads worn smooth by decades of use. Compact-profile rails are our most-specified model here. Downtown Modesto has Victorian-era character staircases with turned banisters and carved newel posts where preservation matters. Village One on the north side has 1990s two-story homes with wide stairs and standard 14-step straight runs that install in under three hours — the first generation of buyers is now aging into stairlift territory. North Modesto near Briggsmore Avenue mixes newer tract homes with older 1970s ranches. We cover all of Stanislaus County — Salida, Riverbank, Ceres, Turlock, and unincorporated West Modesto, Bystrom, and Bret Harte — from a single base with no travel fee.

La Loma ranch — straight rail on dark hardwood stairs, bilingual walkthrough

La Loma, CA Installed March 2026

A 1962 La Loma ranch with dark hardwood stair treads and an open-tread staircase. The entire consultation happened in Spanish. We bolted a straight rail to the right side of the oak treads and parked the beige seat at the bottom landing. Luis walked Sra. Ríos through every button in Spanish, twice at her request, and left behind a Spanish-language manual. She rode it alone that evening while her son watched from the bottom.

Village One — curved rail bends around upper-floor half-wall for multigenerational household

Village One, CA Installed February 2026

A 2001 two-story in Village One where Grandma Kaur moved in from Punjab to help with the grandchildren. The staircase has a 90-degree curve at the upper landing where it meets a half-wall balustrade. We fabricated a curved rail that bends around the turn and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top-floor hallway. She steps off onto the upstairs landing beneath the hallway light. The grandchildren think it's the best thing in the house.

College Area bungalow — compact straight rail beside vintage sideboard on stone treads

College Area, CA Installed January 2026

A 1955 College Area bungalow with stone-tread stairs and a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the bottom landing. Mr. Petersen had fallen at the top of the stairs twice — the stone treads were worn smooth by 70 years of foot traffic. We fitted a compact-profile straight rail with the brown-upholstered seat parked at the bottom next to the sideboard. Traditional cottage feel preserved. The swivel-exit seat rotates 90 degrees at the upper landing so he stands on the hallway floor instead of the worn top tread.

North Modesto — outdoor porch lift on raised stone-paved front entry

North Modesto, CA Installed December 2025

A raised-entry home in North Modesto with natural stone paving at the front walkway and covered porch steps leading up to the front door. Mr. Gonzalez uses a cane and the afternoon sun turned the stone steps into a griddle from June through September. We installed a weather-resistant cream seat on an outdoor rail over the rough stone paving, with a sealed motor housing and UV-stabilized materials. The consultation was in Spanish. The lift runs from the stone walkway up to the porch in full daylight with no heat-related issues through two Central Valley summers.

Salida — straight rail on carpeted stairs for Medi-Cal HCBA-funded install

Salida, CA Installed November 2025

A two-story in Salida where Mr. Hernandez — 77, living with his daughter's family, Medi-Cal eligible — hadn't been upstairs in five months. We bolted a straight rail through the carpeted treads on the stairway leading to the upper landing. The brown-upholstered seat matches the warm carpet tones. The Stanislaus County HCBA waiver agency approved the stairlift as an Environmental Accessibility Adaptation and paid us directly. Mr. Hernandez rode upstairs that evening and ate dinner at his own table for the first time since May.

Platform Lift

West Modesto — indoor wheelchair platform lift for power-chair user

West Modesto, CA Installed October 2025

Mr. Delgado uses a power wheelchair and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on an indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail against the warm-toned walls. A window lights the stairway. The platform folds up flat when not in use. This is not a seat — it carries the entire wheelchair. Luis filed the Medi-Cal HCBA paperwork the same day.

Common Questions

Everything Modesto Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Modesto right now?

Straight rails in standard Modesto homes — the Village One two-stories, the north Modesto tracts, the La Loma ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with a mid-landing turn or a Victorian-era winding staircase run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised front porches and patio entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, heat-rated components, and the first service visit.

Is the heat-rated hardware an extra charge in Stanislaus County?

No. Every Modesto install ships with high-temperature synthetic lubricant, a heat-rated battery, and UV-stabilized seat material as baseline spec. The Central Valley climate demands it — standard components degrade within two summers at 105°F+. Some national chains ship a coastal-California unit and charge extra for a heat upgrade. We don't.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No — and in Modesto, Spanish-language service is routine. A significant share of our consultations happen entirely in Spanish, particularly in the La Loma, College Area, and south-side neighborhoods. Every quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for Village One HOA installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. California FEHA requires associations to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities. We file the FEHA accommodation-request packet and follow up with the architectural review committee. Most Village One approvals come back in 10-15 business days.

A word from Luis

Most Modesto families call me after the same conversation at the kitchen table — a parent struggling on stairs of a 1960s La Loma ranch, a grandmother who hasn't been upstairs since her hip replacement at Memorial Medical Center, a daughter worried about her Spanish-speaking mother in a Village One two-story.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.

I know which La Loma stairwells need compact-profile rails, which Village One HOAs need FEHA accommodation packets, and which College Area bungalows have treads worn smooth enough to warrant a swivel-exit seat. If someone in your family is avoiding the second floor, call me.
