Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Gloucester County

Gloucester County, NJ

Mantua Township covers roughly 16 square miles with distinct housing pockets. Sewell anchors the Route 45 commercial corridor — colonials and split-levels from the 1970s-90s, mostly straight staircases, 14-16 treads. Barnsboro, centered around the historic Inn, has older colonials and farmhouses where stair geometry gets irregular — some need curved rails. Cedar Grove off Whippoorwill Way is a 55+ manufactured-home community with narrower stairs (often 30-32 inches) calling for slim-rail straight lifts. Centre City near Lambs Road and the rural eastern township along Route 55 have larger-lot homes with full basements and two-story staircases. Near Chestnut Branch Park on Main Street, the 1970s bi-levels and split-levels have short connecting flights where a straight lift keeps the whole house open.

Straight

Classic Straight Rail on Hardwood Treads in Sewell

Sewell, NJ Installed February 2026

1970s colonial near the Route 45 corridor. Fourteen dark oak treads, straight flight, standard 42-inch width. The homeowners wanted a beige seat to match the cream-colored walls. The rail was mounted directly to the treads — no wall drilling, no drywall damage. The entire install, including cleanup and a full demo of the battery-backup system, ran from 9 a.m. to noon.

Curved Rail at Upper Landing in Barnsboro Colonial

Barnsboro, NJ Installed January 2026

Late-1800s colonial near the Barnsboro Inn with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The staircase is original — wide oak treads with a carved banister and a chandelier above. The curved rail was laser-measured on site, factory-bent to the exact angle, and mounted without touching the historic woodwork. The brown seat parks at the top floor, letting the homeowner ride up from the ground level without walking a single stair.

Straight

Compact Straight Rail on Stone Treads in Centre City

Centre City, NJ Installed March 2026

Small cottage-style home near Lambs Road with stone-and-tile treads and a tight staircase tucked between the kitchen and a wooden sideboard. Only 12 treads, but the narrow clearance meant every inch counted. We used a slim-rail straight lift with the seat folding to a 14-inch profile when parked. The brown upholstery was chosen to match the sideboard cabinetry.

Outdoor Porch Lift in Rural Mantua Township

Rural Route 55 corridor, NJ Installed April 2026

Outdoor porch entry on a large-lot property east of Route 55 — seven stone-paved steps from the driveway to the front door, fully exposed to South Jersey weather. The cream-colored outdoor lift is IP55-rated and built for freeze-thaw winters and humid summers. The rail was secured to the stone with stainless bolts.

Straight

Carpeted Straight Staircase near Chestnut Branch Park

Chestnut Branch Park area, NJ Installed May 2026

Standard 1970s bi-level near Chestnut Branch Park — beige carpeted treads, tiled floor at the base, 13 steps. The owner picked a brown seat that nearly matches the carpet tone. The straight rail was bolted through the carpet and padding directly into the treads — no carpet damage, no visible hardware from the side. The battery backup was tucked under the bottom landing with a 6-hour runtime.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform Lift in Cedar Grove

Cedar Grove, NJ Installed June 2026

Manufactured home in the Cedar Grove 55+ community where the homeowner uses a wheelchair full-time. We installed an inclined platform lift — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail — running parallel to the staircase. The platform folds up when not in use, leaving the stairs passable for the spouse. The 600 lb capacity handles the wheelchair plus occupant, and reinforcing two treads needed no structural changes.

Common Questions

Everything Mantua Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Mantua Township?

A straight stairlift in Mantua starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts — needed for staircases with landings or turns, which show up more in the older Barnsboro colonials — start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts for porch or deck stairs start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. Every quote includes the site measurement, rail, carriage, installation, and a demo of the controls before we leave. Financing runs $79/month.

Are stairlift prices higher in Mantua compared to the rest of Gloucester County?

No — our pricing is the same across Gloucester County. What changes the quote from house to house is the staircase itself, not the ZIP code. A straight 14-tread staircase in Sewell costs the same as one in Woodbury or Glassboro. The variable is the rail: curved rails are custom-bent after a laser measurement and cost more than straight ones regardless of location.

Does Medicare cover stairlift costs in New Jersey?

Standard Medicare does not cover stairlifts. In New Jersey, Medicaid MLTSS (Managed Long Term Services and Supports) can cover residential modifications including stairlifts for eligible members. The NJ FamilyCare Housing Supports Program offers up to $15,000 as a lifetime benefit for residential modifications. For non-Medicaid seniors 60+, the state-funded JACC (Jersey Assistance for Community Caregiving) program covers environmental accessibility adaptations including stairlifts.

Is there a payment plan option for Mantua residents?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month. We run the application during the in-home assessment and you'll have an answer before we leave. No prepayment penalty, no balloon payment.

A word from Luis

Mantua's housing stock runs heavily toward ranches, split-levels, and colonials built between the mid-'60s and early 2000s. That means I see a lot of staircases with two short flights, often carpeted, and plenty of bi-levels where the main staircase is the only route between the living room and the bedrooms. In Sewell, near the Route 45 corridor, many homes have that standard straight flight — 12 to 14 treads, a clean install that bolts to the treads and finishes in about three hours. Out in Barnsboro and the rural sections, older farmhouses and colonials can throw you a curve. Literally.

The township's 55+ communities, especially Cedar Grove off Whippoorwill Way, are a big part of my work here. Manufactured homes with narrower staircases — 32 inches wide in some models — where you need a slim-rail straight lift. I've curved rails into the old colonials over near the Telford Inn on Bridgeton Pike too, where the original woodwork stays untouched. Every install in Mantua is a local install for me. I know which neighborhoods have HOAs that want rail colors matched to the siding, and I know the VA clinic at 211 County House Road in Sewell forwards veterans my way when they need HISA grant paperwork started.

— Luis Ramírez, Mantua
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Mantua Township is the kind of place where people stay put. Median age is 44, and a lot of those residents bought their split-levels and colonials decades ago. A stairlift isn't about remodeling — it's about staying in the same house for another 20 years. The funding pathways — MLTSS through New Jersey Medicaid, the NJ FamilyCare Housing Supports Program up to $15,000 lifetime, JACC for non-Medicaid seniors — mean the cost doesn't have to come out of pocket. And the Gloucester County VA Clinic right on County House Road in Sewell keeps the HISA grant paperwork local.

Call Luis at the number above. He'll come out and measure your stairs — no charge, no pitch, just a real assessment from someone who's installed lifts in every corner of this township.
