Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Manassas County

Manassas County, VA

Manassas stairlift installs span every housing era in this independent city. Old Town Manassas — the historic district along Grant Avenue and Center Street — has narrow Queen Anne and Colonial Revival staircases from the early 1900s, often needing a custom curved rail around tight newel posts. Sudley and Cannon Ridge feature 1970s split-levels where a straight rail on the main flight opens the whole upper floor. Wellington and Ashland (late-'80s/'90s builds) have wider treads and open railings — among the fastest installs we do. Point of Woods and Mayfield Trace are well-kept neighborhoods where outdoor porch lifts handle the entry stairs. Westchester and Georgetown South round out the coverage — from larger curved-rail homes to the tight townhouse stairs near Grant Avenue.

Straight

Grant Avenue Victorian, Straight Rail on Original Oak

Old Town Manassas, VA Installed February 2026

The Morrison family's 1904 Queen Anne on Grant Avenue has the original dark-oak treads — narrow, steep, and beautiful. They needed a lift that wouldn't touch the ornate balustrade or the newel post. Luis mounted the straight rail directly to the treads along the wall side. The cream-colored seat sits at the bottom landing, folding up when not in use.

Curved

Westchester Estate, Curved Rail Around Chandelier Landing

Westchester, VA Installed January 2026

The Parks' Westchester home has a curved staircase with a half-wall at the 90-degree bend and a chandelier hanging over the upper landing. Luis spent an hour mapping the geometry with the laser rig — the rail had to hug the half-wall through the turn and end precisely at the upper hallway floor. The brown seat parks at the top landing, out of sight from the foyer.

Sudley Cottage, Straight Rail on Stone-Tile Treads

Sudley, VA Installed March 2026

The Chapmans' older Sudley home has light stone-tile treads on a compact main staircase — tight geometry, with a wooden sideboard at the bottom landing. Luis positioned the brown seat to clear the cabinet by two inches when parked. The straight rail runs 14 feet up the wall side, bolted into the stone treads with masonry anchors.

Outdoor

Wellington Front Porch, Outdoor Lift on Stone Entry

Wellington, VA Installed October 2025

The Reyes family's Wellington home has a stone-paved front porch with seven steps up from the driveway — the main entry everyone uses. The outdoor lift needed to survive Manassas's 21 inches of annual snowfall and January mornings in the mid-20s. Luis installed the cream-colored outdoor unit with IP55 weather sealing and a waterproof seat cover. The rail bolts to the stone treads with stainless-steel fasteners.

Ashland Colonial, Straight Rail on Carpeted Stairs

Ashland, VA Installed April 2026

The Bennetts' 1997 colonial in Ashland has carpeted stairs running from the tiled foyer up to the second floor — the standard Northern Virginia family layout. The brown seat matched the warm carpet tones, and the rail brackets bolted directly through the carpet and pad into the wood treads beneath. No carpet damage, no visible hardware gaps.

Point of Woods, Indoor Wheelchair Platform Lift

Point of Woods, VA Installed December 2025

Mr. Carter has used a wheelchair since a spinal injury and was living entirely on the ground floor of the family's Point of Woods home. The indoor inclined platform lift — a flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail — runs up the main staircase. He rolls his chair onto the platform, locks the wheels, and rides to the second floor in about four minutes.

Common Questions

Everything Manassas Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Manassas, VA?

A straight stairlift in Manassas starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails — common in Old Town Victorians and larger Westchester homes — start at $9,000 because each rail is custom-bent to the exact stair geometry after a 1-hour laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000, and heavy-duty units (up to 600 lb) start at $5,050. All prices include the in-home assessment, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. Financing runs $79/month.

Does Medicare or private insurance cover a stairlift in Manassas?

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover stairlifts — they're classified as durable medical equipment but not covered under current rules. Some Medicare Advantage plans in Virginia add home-modification benefits; check your plan's evidence of coverage document. Private long-term-care insurance policies sometimes include home-modification riders. For Manassas residents without insurance coverage, financing at $79/month and the state and federal programs in the funding tab are the main paths.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more than straight ones in Manassas?

Every curved rail is a one-off. A technician comes to your Manassas home with a laser measurement rig and maps every turn, rise, and run of your staircase — a process that takes about an hour. That data goes to the fabrication shop where the rail is bent, welded, and powder-coated to match your exact stairs. The Old Town homes on Grant Avenue and Center Street, with their tight 90° turns at mid-landing and ornate newel posts, are a perfect example of when a curved rail is the only option.

Are there financing options for a stairlift in Manassas, VA?

Yes — financing starts at $79/month. We work with a third-party lender that offers 0%-interest plans for qualified buyers in Virginia. The application takes about 10 minutes online or over the phone, and you'll know before the assessment whether you're approved. There is no prepayment penalty.

A word from Luis

I've put lifts into more Manassas homes than I can count — and every neighborhood has its own quirks. In Old Town, those Grant Avenue Victorians from the early 1900s have tight staircases with ornate newel posts that eat up rail clearance. A curved rail bent after a 1-hour laser measurement handles that without touching the woodwork. Out in Wellington and Ashland, the '80s and '90s homes have wider treads and open railings — a straight rail goes in fast, usually under three hours.

The split-levels in Sudley and Cannon Ridge are where I see the most need. A straight rail on the main flight opens the whole upper floor — bedrooms, bathroom, everything. And for the outdoor porches on those Point of Woods and Mayfield Trace homes, the weather-sealed outdoor units shrug off snow and freeze-thaw. Manassas gets about 21 inches of snow a year and January lows in the mid-20s — the outdoor rail keeps working through all of it. I've seen too many families wait until after a fall to call. Don't. One assessment is all it takes.

— Luis Ramírez, Manassas
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Manassas is a city with deep roots — two Civil War battles, a railroad that built the town, and homes spanning 130 years of American architecture. That range of housing stock means no two stairlift installs are the same. A 1904 Queen Anne on Grant Avenue needs a different approach than a 1990s colonial in Ashland, and both need a different rail than the outdoor stone porch on a Point of Woods home. Luis has worked all of them.

If your mom is holding the railing tighter than she used to, or your dad has started sleeping in the recliner because the stairs feel too risky, call for an assessment. The funding paperwork — HISA for veterans, CCC Plus Waiver for Medicaid enrollees, or the Virginia Housing Granting Freedom program — is something we help you sort out at the kitchen table. The lift itself goes in during one morning. By lunch, the stairs are open again.
