Stairlift Service Across Sullivan County

Sullivan County, NY

We install stairlifts in every corner of Mamakating. Wurtsboro village has older two-story homes along Sullivan Street with the original narrow staircases — common in the 1880-1920 builds. Mamakating Park, the historic district on the ridge north of Masten Lake, has steep Victorian-era stairways with tight landing turns that usually need a curved rail. Masten Lake and Yankee Lake have a mix of year-round homes and converted summer cottages where stair width can dip to 32 inches. Wurtsboro Hills holds split-levels and raised ranches from the 1960s and 70s — a straight rail handles most of those. Bloomingburg and Burlingham have older farmhouses where the staircase pitch is steeper than modern code, so we measure carefully on site.

Straight

Straight Rail on Dark Hardwood in Wurtsboro Village

Wurtsboro Village, NY Installed February 2026

Two-story home on Sullivan Street, built around 1910. Dark oak treads, original to the house, in good condition. The staircase runs straight from the front hallway up to the second-floor bedrooms — 14 feet of rail, no turns. The homeowner wanted the beige seat to blend with the cream hallway walls. Rail bolted directly into the oak treads. The original baluster and handrail stayed in place on the opposite side. Install finished by noon.

Curved Rail at Upper Landing in Mamakating Park Victorian

Mamakating Park, NY Installed March 2026

Late Victorian home in the Mamakating Park Historic District, built around 1890. The staircase rises to a 90-degree turn at the upper landing where a half-wall and chandelier define the space. The curved rail was laser-measured on site to follow the turn within an inch of the wall. The brown upholstery matched the existing wood tones. The original newel post and balustrade were not disturbed — the rail mounts to the treads only.

Compact Straight Rail on Stone Treads near Masten Lake

Masten Lake, NY Installed January 2026

Lake cottage converted to year-round use, built in the mid-1950s off Masten Lake Road. Stone tile treads with a wooden sideboard at the bottom landing. The staircase width is 34 inches — tight but workable. A compact straight rail with a fold-up seat keeps the walkway clear. The brown upholstery was chosen to match the sideboard and surrounding wood trim.

Outdoor

Weather-Sealed Outdoor Lift on Stone Porch in Burlingham

Burlingham, NY Installed November 2025

Rural farmhouse off Burlingham Road with an exterior stone-paved porch. Six stone steps rising from the driveway to the front door, uneven from decades of settlement. The outdoor rail was mounted with small concrete footings leveled at each bracket point — no shims, because shims shift during Catskill freeze-thaw cycles. IP55-rated motor and weather-sealed wiring connections. The cream-colored seat cover sheds rain, snow, and ice.

Straight

Carpeted Straight Rail Install in Wurtsboro Hills Split-Level

Wurtsboro Hills, NY Installed April 2026

Split-level home built in 1972 in the Wurtsboro Hills subdivision. Carpeted staircase — beige pile, well-maintained — running from the lower family room up to the kitchen level. The brown upholstery on the seat was selected to pick up the warm undertones in the carpet. Tiled floor at the base landing transitions cleanly to the stair carpet. Straight rail at 13 feet. The carpet compressed slightly under the rail brackets — standard and expected, no damage.

Single-story ranch home on Birch Lane in Bloomingburg with a finished basement. The staircase from the main floor down to the basement is straight, 15 feet. Common Questions

Everything Mamakating Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Mamakating?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts — common in Mamakating Park Victorians and older Wurtsboro homes with landing turns — start at $9,000. Outdoor units for porch or stoop installs start at $4,000. The heavy-duty model runs from $5,050. We give a firm price at the free assessment — no hidden fees or upsells.

Do you charge extra for installation in an older Mamakating home?

No. The install labor is included in our quoted price whether we are working in a new build in Wurtsboro Hills or a 120-year-old farmhouse in Burlingham. Older treads sometimes need blocking underneath for solid anchoring — we handle that during the same visit at no extra charge.

Is there a payment plan for stairlifts in Mamakating?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 per month. We run applications at the assessment — most get an answer in under ten minutes. No prepayment penalty.

Why is the curved lift so much more than the straight one?

A curved rail is bent specifically for your staircase. We take a 1-hour laser measurement on site, the rail is fabricated to match your turns, and install takes longer. In Mamakating Park, where many homes have a 90-degree turn at the upper landing with a half-wall, a curved rail is the only option that follows the stairs properly.

A word from Luis

I have put lifts into about every kind of staircase you find in Mamakating. The Victorians up in Mamakating Park — those are the tricky ones. The stairs turn tight at the landing, the treads are steep, and the newel posts sit close to the wall. But we get a curved rail in there, bent on site from a laser measurement, and it hugs the wall without touching the original woodwork. Those homeowners always worry about damaging the historic trim. They never need to.

Down around Masten Lake and Yankee Lake, I see a lot of cottages that started as summer camps back in the 1950s and got winterized later. The stairs in those are short and narrow — sometimes 32 inches wide. A compact straight rail fits, but you need the fold-up seat to keep the walkway clear at the bottom. Out in the Burlingham and Summitville farmhouses, the staircases were built for 19th-century feet, so we size the rail accordingly. No two installs are the same, and that is the part I still enjoy after fifteen years.

— Luis Ramírez, Mamakating
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Whether you are in a Victorian on the Mamakating Park ridge, a cottage near Masten Lake, or a farmhouse off Burlingham Road, a stairlift install here means dealing with older stair geometry that does not match modern building code. Our rail is custom-cut per job — no universal kits. The D&H Canal towpath and the Bashakill marshes sit right outside your window. The stairs inside were built before electricity was standard. We have been fitting lifts into those stairs for over fifteen years.

Call Luis at (800) 965-0350 for a free assessment. He brings a laser measure and walks your staircase once. You get a firm price on the spot. Most installs in Mamakating take under four hours. The rail bolts to the treads — no drywall damage, no repainting. If you need funding help, the NHTD waiver and the HISA grant for veterans both cover stairlifts in New York. We walk you through the paperwork.
