The workhorse of Polk County’s two-story homes — from Dixieland bungalows to South Lakeland ranches. Over 70% of the stairlifts we install in the Lakeland area are this model. A single straight run, the rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through the next hurricane-season outage. Most Polk County installs wrap in under four hours.

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Polk County

Polk County, FL

From the Dixieland Historic District — where 1920s bungalows with original terrazzo stairs and narrow hallways house retirees who’ve lived there for decades — to the Lake Hollingsworth area, where mid-century cottages and split-level entries are the most common staircase we measure in Lakeland, our team has mapped every block. We know which Cleveland Heights subdivisions have raised-entry homes where outdoor rails solve the real accessibility problem, which South Lakeland 55+ communities require HOA architectural review, and which Combee Settlement homes from the 1960s have wide treads that install in three hours flat.

Polk County stretches from I-4 to the phosphate country south of Bartow. We staff dedicated coverage for Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Lake Wales, and Haines City. The Lakeland VA Clinic is on Meadowland Park Boulevard; we coordinate HISA paperwork with James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa for Polk County veterans regularly.

1936 Dixieland bungalow — rail color-matched to the original oak banister

Dixieland, FL Installed March 2026

A 1936 bungalow in the Dixieland Historic District with an original oak banister and hardwood treads that the family was determined to preserve. The daughter called from Tampa — her father, 84, had been sleeping in the living room recliner for three weeks because the bedroom stairs felt too risky. We brought color samples to the first visit, matched the rail finish to the existing oak, and bolted the track into the treads without touching a single spindle. Installed on Thursday. Her father slept in his own bed Thursday night.

90° landing turn in a Lake Hollingsworth split-level

Lake Hollingsworth, FL Installed February 2026

A mid-century split-level near Lake Hollingsworth with a 90° turn at the upper landing — a layout that made a straight rail impossible. We laser-scanned the staircase during the first visit, custom-fabricated a curved rail that carries the rider from the entry to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top. Mrs. Thompson’s biggest concern was the humidity corroding the mechanism. The sealed motor housing and stainless components are rated for Florida’s year-round conditions — not the dry-climate spec the national chains ship.

Compact 1940s South Lakeland cottage — slim rail beside original furniture

South Lakeland, FL Installed January 2026

A 1940s cottage in South Lakeland where the staircase runs between a stone-tread entry and the upper bedroom, with family furniture pressed against the wall at the bottom landing. Mrs. Garcia’s Spanish-speaking mother needed to understand every step of the process. Luis conducted the entire assessment in Spanish, fitted the slimmest rail in our catalog so the furniture could stay in place, and added a folding footrest so the lift tucks flat against the wall when parked. Abuela rides it six times a day.

Cleveland Heights raised entry — weather-sealed outdoor rail in Florida sun

Cleveland Heights, FL Installed November 2025

A raised-entry home in Cleveland Heights where the front porch steps were the barrier between Mr. Warren and his daily walks around the block. He’s 79 and his knees are good enough for level ground but not for the six stone steps up to his front door. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor rail anchored into the existing stone paving, UV-coated for the Central Florida sun, and humidity-sealed against the afternoon thunderstorms. It rode through Hurricane Milton without a service call.

Combee Settlement carpeted stairs — swivel-exit for safer landing

Combee Settlement, FL Installed October 2025

A two-story home in Combee Settlement with 14 carpeted treads and a landing that Mrs. Robinson’s husband had fallen from the previous summer. The swivel-exit seat was the deciding factor — it rotates 90° at the upper landing so she steps onto the hallway carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. The carpeted treads simplified the bracket installation, and the battery backup has carried them through two power outages since without interruption.

Indoor wheelchair platform for a Lakeland Highlands split-entry

Lakeland Highlands, FL Installed September 2025

The Vasquez’s father uses a power wheelchair and needed indoor access between the garage-level entry and the main living area — a four-step rise that is the single biggest accessibility barrier in Lakeland Highlands split-entry homes. We installed an inclined platform lift with yellow high-visibility safety edges, a fold-up deck when not in use, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. The platform rides along the indoor stairway and clears the hallway completely when folded.

Common Questions

Everything Lakeland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Polk County right now?

Straight rails in standard Lakeland homes — the Dixieland bungalows, the Lake Hollingsworth cottages, the ranches in South Lakeland — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you’ll need for split-level entries and the occasional 1930s staircase with a landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and humidity-sealed models for raised porches and pool-deck access run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Lakeland than Tampa or Orlando?

Equipment prices are the same across Central Florida — we don’t charge a premium for being between the two metros and we don’t charge a discount for being outside them. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: terrazzo-tread preservation in Dixieland historics, humidity-sealed motor upgrades that ship standard on every Polk County install, and the occasional HOA paperwork cycle in a 55+ community. We tell you the line items upfront.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Polk County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for 55+ community or HOA installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We’ve worked with Solivita, the Del Webb communities in the county, and a dozen other 55+ associations across Polk — the reasonable-accommodation letters are already templated under Florida Statute 760.20-37. What can add cost (rarely) is when a board requires its own engineer’s letter. If that happens, we tell you before we start — not after.

A word from Luis

Most Lakeland families call me after a fall or a near-miss — a slip on the terrazzo stairs in a Dixieland bungalow, a parent who hasn’t gone upstairs since a hip replacement, a daughter in Tampa worried about her mother in a Lake Hollingsworth cottage she’s lived in since the 1970s.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
