Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Walker County

Walker County, GA

We cover all of Walker County. Around the North Main historic district near the Marsh House and Chattooga Academy, antebellum and early-1900s homes have steep, narrow stairs that usually need a custom curved rail. Postwar ranches in Rock Spring, Center Post, and Cooper Heights take a quick straight install. Out toward Villanow, Kensington, and McLemore Cove below Pigeon Mountain, raised farmhouses on larger lots suit outdoor porch lifts sealed against mountain freeze-thaw. We also serve Noble, Chattanooga Valley, and Dewberry Hills. No travel fee anywhere in the county.

Straight

Rock Spring ranch — straight rail on original oak treads

Rock Spring, GA Installed March 2026

A 1961 brick ranch in Rock Spring with the original dark oak staircase running from the main floor to a finished basement. After Mr. Holcomb's stroke, the straight oak run was the barrier. We bolted the rail directly into the treads, set the beige seat at the bottom landing, and had it running in three hours.

North Main historic home — curved rail at the upper landing

North Main historic district, GA Installed February 2026

An early-1900s home in the North Main historic district near the Marsh House, with a steep staircase that curves around a half-wall at the upper landing under a hanging fixture. We scanned the geometry on the first visit, fabricated a curved rail to the exact bend, and parked the brown seat at the top floor where Mrs. Prentiss steps off into the upstairs hallway.

Villanow cottage — straight rail past the hallway sideboard

Villanow, GA Installed January 2026

A compact 1940s cottage out toward Villanow with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard tucked into the narrow hallway beside the stairs. We measured the clearance on the first visit, ran the slim-profile rail on the open side, and mounted the brown seat to ride past the sideboard with inches to spare. The cottage layout and stone treads are typical of the older farmhouses in this part of the county.

Kensington farmhouse — outdoor lift on a stone-paved porch entry

Kensington, GA Installed April 2026

A raised farmhouse out near Kensington with five rough stone porch steps from the walkway to the front door. We anchored the cream outdoor unit into the pavers, sealed every bracket against the freeze-thaw that comes off the ridge, and fitted an IP55 weather-sealed motor housing with a lockable key switch. Mr. Hargrove gets out to his truck on his own again, rain or shine.

Center Post split-level — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Center Post, GA Installed May 2026

A 1978 split-level in Center Post with carpeted stairs from the living level up to the bedrooms. The carpet had started to feel slick under Mrs. Bradley's mother's walker. We mounted a straight rail through the carpet into the treads below, matched the neutral brown seat to the beige carpet, and added a swivel exit at the top so she steps off onto the tiled hallway floor.

A home in Cooper Heights where Mr. Caldwell uses a power wheelchair full-time and couldn't transfer to a seated lift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform on the indoor stairway between the main floor and the lower level, with a flat black anti-slip deck, yellow high-visibility safety edges, a white handrail, and a keyed call station at both landings. Common Questions

Everything LaFayette Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in LaFayette, GA?

Straight stairlifts in standard LaFayette homes — the Rock Spring and Center Post ranches, the split-levels around town — install from $2,800. Curved rails for the turning staircases in the antebellum and early-1900s homes off North Main start at $9,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor lifts for raised farmhouse porches start at $4,000, and heavy-duty units from $5,050. Every quote is written, holds for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, installation, battery backup, and first service visit.

Are there hidden fees on a LaFayette install?

No. The written quote is the final price — rail, seat, hardware, labor, and cleanup are all included, and there's no travel charge anywhere in Walker County. The only extras are options you choose, like a power swivel seat or upgraded upholstery, and those are disclosed before you order. Nothing gets added on install day.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Usually, yes. A straight stairlift from $2,800 is a fraction of what it costs to convert a downstairs room into a full bedroom and bath — that runs $25,000 to $60,000 and takes weeks. Moving out of a paid-off LaFayette home into a single-story rental adds hundreds of dollars in housing cost every month that never stops. A stairlift installs in a day and keeps you in the home you already own.

Do you charge a trip fee this far from Chattanooga or Rome?

No. We staff all of Walker County as a regular service area, so there's no mileage or fuel surcharge to LaFayette, Rock Spring, Villanow, or McLemore Cove. The price on your written quote is the price you pay, whether you're a block off the square or out on Highway 27.

A word from Luis

Most of the older homes around LaFayette's square were built before anyone standardized stair rise and run, so I measure every staircase by hand before I quote a price. The antebellum and early-1900s houses off North Main near the Marsh House almost always need a curved rail; the postwar ranches out toward Rock Spring and Center Post are usually a clean straight run done in an afternoon.

I drive the whole county — Villanow, Kensington, Cooper Heights, McLemore Cove — and there's never a travel charge. I'll walk your stairs with you, give you a written price that holds for 30 days, and never pressure you to decide on the spot.
