Stairlift Service Across Wayne County

Wayne County, WV

We work across every corner of Kenova and the surrounding Wayne County communities. Park Circle — those 1920s bungalows with original oak treads and 34-inch stair widths. Pine Hill Estates off Route 75 has newer split-levels with wider stairs and open landings. NW Kenova near the Ohio River holds compact cottages where we bolt straight rails to tile treads. Barger Hill homes often need outdoor lifts for the steep grade from driveway to porch. The Walnut Street District features Victorians and Craftsman-era houses with those signature tight turns. Down along Buffalo Creek Road and out toward the Ceredo line, we see a mix of mid-century ranches and newer builds.

Straight

Park Circle Bungalow — Straight Rail on Original Oak

Park Circle, WV Installed May 2026

1923 bungalow with the original red-oak staircase — 12 risers, 34 inches wide, no landing. The oak was in nearly perfect condition, so we bolted the straight rail directly to the treads. Mrs. Henderson had been sleeping on a pullout in the dining room for eight months. She was back in her upstairs bedroom by 2 p.m. on install day.

Curved

Pine Hill Estates — Curved Rail with 90° Landing Turn

Pine Hill Estates, WV Installed April 2026

Modern split-level with a 90° turn at the mid-stair landing. The staircase opened into an upper hallway with a chandelier — the curved rail had to wrap the landing tightly to preserve walkway clearance. The laser scan captured every degree of the turn. The bent rail arrived in a single continuous piece, no splice joints. Seat parks at the upper landing.

NW Kenova Cottage — Straight Rail on Stone Treads

NW Kenova, WV Installed March 2026

Compact cottage three blocks from the Ohio River. Stone-faced treads over a wood substructure — not the easiest to drill through, but standard for us. The staircase runs alongside a built-in sideboard that left exactly 35 inches of width. Straight rail bolted to the treads, seat parked at the bottom near the sideboard. Mrs. Adkins uses it to reach the only bathroom in the house, which is upstairs.

Outdoor

Barger Hill — Outdoor Lift on Steep Porch Approach

Barger Hill, WV Installed October 2025

Ten concrete steps from the driveway to the front door, rising about seven feet across rough stone paving. The outdoor rail sits on stainless mounts with an IP55 motor housing — built for West Virginia winters. Mr. Morrison wanted to keep the original porch stonework intact, so we anchored the rail to the treads and left the porch face untouched. He's used it daily through one full winter.

Walnut Street Victorian — Straight Rail Over Carpeted Stairs

Walnut Street District, WV Installed February 2026

Turn-of-the-century Victorian with a carpeted staircase running from a tiled foyer. The carpet was dense Berber over fir treads — we bolted through both layers cleanly. The seat, in a warm brown upholstery, blended with the carpet tone. Mrs. Tucker, 78, had been avoiding the stairs entirely. She rode the lift three times on install day just because she could.

Platform Lift

Buffalo Creek Area — Indoor Inclined Platform for Wheelchair Access

Buffalo Creek Road, WV Installed January 2026

Mr. Ramsey uses a wheelchair full-time and needed access to the upstairs bedroom. The indoor inclined platform lift runs along the staircase wall — black flat deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail. The platform folds up when not in use, leaving the stairs passable for other family members. Rated for 600 pounds. Mr. Ramsey operates it with a wireless remote from his wheelchair.

Common Questions

Everything Kenova Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a straight stairlift cost in Kenova?

A straight stairlift in Kenova starts at $2,800 installed. That includes the rail, seat, battery backup, and all labor. Most straight-rail installs on a Park Circle or Pine Hill Estates staircase take about 3 hours from arrival to test ride. The price is firm after the free in-home measurement — no hidden fees, no trip charge, and financing starts at $79/month.

What does a curved stairlift cost for older Kenova homes with turns?

Curved stairlifts in Kenova start at $9,000. The price depends on the number of turns and the rail length. Many Walnut Street Victorians and Maple Street Craftsman-era homes have a single 90° turn at a mid-stair landing — those run $9,000 to $11,500. Homes with 180° switchbacks or intermediate landings may go higher. Every curved rail is custom-bent from a laser measurement taken during the free assessment.

Are there any hidden fees or trip charges for Kenova installs?

No. We do not charge a trip fee or assessment fee for Kenova or anywhere in Wayne County. The price Luis quotes during the free in-home measurement is the final price — tax, labor, rail, seat, battery backup, and the warranty are all included. The only thing that changes the price is if you add options like a power swivel seat or an outdoor cover.

How much is an outdoor stairlift for Kenova homes with steep porch steps?

Outdoor stairlifts in Kenova start at $4,000. The weather-sealed rail and IP55-rated motor handle West Virginia freeze-thaw cycles and summer humidity. We install outdoor lifts on Barger Hill properties with steep grade changes and on riverside homes where the main entry involves 8–14 exterior steps. The rail cover sheds rain and snow, and the seat flips up when not in use.

A word from Luis

Kenova's housing stock tells the railroad story. Most homes along Walnut, Maple, and Beech were built between 1890 and 1930 — narrow staircases, tight landings, steep pitches. When I walk into a Park Circle bungalow, I already know the stairs are going to be 34 inches wide with a turn at the top. I've measured hundreds of them.

The newer homes out Pine Hill Estates and Barger Hill have different geometry — wider stairs, open landings, often a straight run. But those older riverfront homes near Virginia Point? They're the ones that keep me on my toes. Settled foundations, angled treads, sometimes 90-degree turns with no landing at all. The curved rail gets bent to match every odd angle. I've never met a staircase in this town we couldn't fit.

— Luis Ramírez, Kenova
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Kenova sits at the westernmost point of West Virginia, where the Big Sandy feeds into the Ohio — and homes here range from 1920s railroad bungalows to Pine Hill Estates split-levels. Whether it's a straight rail on a Park Circle staircase or a curved lift wrapping a Walnut Street Victorian turn, we install the same way every time: free in-home assessment first, then a 3-to-4-hour install that bolts to the treads and leaves your drywall untouched.

Call Luis at (304) 453-3121 or fill out the form above. He'll come out, measure your stairs, and give you a firm price on the spot. Most Kenova installs happen the same week as the assessment. No surprises, no travel fees, no sales pitch — just a stairlift that fits.
