Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Hinds County

Hinds County, MS

From the 1920s bungalows of Belhaven — where original hardwood treads and carved banisters are treasured and the homeowner’s first instruction is always ‘don’t touch the woodwork’ — to the midcentury Colonials of Eastover with their formal two-story entries and curved staircases, from Fondren where bungalow renovation has preserved steep original stairways, to the split-levels of Woodland Hills and Meadowbrook Hills where 1960s geometry requires a curved rail, our team has mapped every Jackson neighborhood.

We know which Belhaven blocks fall in the historic overlay district, which Colonial Heights subdivisions were built with wider 1970s stairs, and which Eastover estates need custom curved fabrication. We also cover Ridgeland, Clinton, Pearl, Flowood, Richland, and Byram at the same rate — no travel surcharges.

1928 Belhaven bungalow — rail matched to original heart-pine treads

Belhaven, MS Installed March 2026

A 1928 Craftsman bungalow in Belhaven with original heart-pine treads, a carved newel post, and a homeowner who has lived in this house since 1974. Mrs. Thornton’s first instruction was non-negotiable: nothing touches the original woodwork. We color-matched the rail finish to the aged heart-pine, bolted into the dark hardwood treads with sealed fasteners, and positioned the beige seat at the bottom of the straight run. The sealed motor housing was mandatory — Belhaven’s summer humidity runs 85%+ and an unsealed gearbox corrodes from the inside within two years.

Fondren bungalow — curved rail around the upper landing half-wall

Fondren, MS Installed February 2026

A 1932 bungalow in the Fondren arts district with an L-shaped staircase that curves around a half-wall balustrade at the upper landing. Mr. Davis had fallen on these stairs during a summer thunderstorm when humidity made the treads slick. We laser-scanned the geometry, fabricated a curved rail that bends smoothly around the half-wall, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the upper floor landing where he steps off directly onto the hallway. The modern interior — chandelier above, framed art on the stairway wall — looks exactly as it did before the install.

Eastover cottage — straight rail on stone treads in a compact traditional entry

Eastover, MS Installed January 2026

A compact traditional home in Eastover with stone-look tile treads, a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the bottom of the stairs, and the cozy cottage feel that the Harrisons have cultivated for 30 years. Mrs. Harrison needed a lift that fit the intimate scale of the entry without dominating the space. We installed a straight rail with brown upholstery that blends with the traditional furniture, mounting flush to the treads in the narrow stairway. The seat folds against the wall when not in use, keeping the full tread width open.

Woodland Hills raised porch — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone-paved entry

Woodland Hills, MS Installed December 2025

A 1978 two-story in Woodland Hills with a raised front porch and rough natural stone paving at the entry. Mrs. Brooks’s son drove from Memphis for the assessment and his only concern was whether the lift could handle Mississippi’s humidity and storm season. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone-paved entry, fitted the weather-resistant cream seat with a carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom landing, and sealed every component against Deep South humidity and UV exposure. The 72-hour battery backup is built for tornado season. Running through its first full year without a service call.

Colonial Heights — straight rail on carpeted stairs for a Montgomery VA veteran

Colonial Heights, MS Installed November 2025

A 1955 home in Colonial Heights with fully carpeted stairs and a landing area where the brown carpet runs from the tiled foyer up to the bedrooms. Mr. Washington is a Vietnam-era veteran who qualified for the full $6,800 HISA grant through the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA. We mounted the straight rail through the carpet into the treads, matched the brown seat upholstery to the carpet tone so the unit blends into the stairway, and positioned the seat to park at the landing. The wall-mounted light switches remain accessible. HISA covered the full cost.

Platform Lift

Northeast Jackson — inclined wheelchair platform for a multi-generational household

Northeast Jackson, MS Installed October 2025

A 1985 two-story in Northeast Jackson where Sra. Flores lives with her daughter’s family. After a spinal injury, she uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail that carries her and her chair up the indoor stairway in a single ride. The orange-toned walls and natural window light frame the installation. Luis conducted the entire consultation in Spanish and left behind a Spanish-language operating manual.

Common Questions

Everything Jackson Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Jackson right now?

Straight rails in standard Jackson homes — the bungalows in Belhaven and Fondren, the two-stories in Woodland Hills, the ranches in Northeast Jackson — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the formal staircases in Eastover estates and the split-level homes in Meadowbrook Hills run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Jackson is one of the most affordable markets in the country. Does that make stairlifts cheaper here?

Equipment costs are the same across the Southeast — the hardware ships from the same factories. What Jackson families benefit from is lower install labor cost compared to Nashville, Atlanta, or the Gulf Coast. A straight rail install in a Belhaven bungalow costs the same as a straight rail in a Memphis bungalow, but the sealed motor housing and 72-hour battery are baseline here (not upcharges) because the humidity and storm risk demand them.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Jackson metro assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for HOA or gated-community installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. Mississippi Fair Housing Law and the federal Fair Housing Act require reasonable accommodation for disabled residents. We prepare the accommodation packet with a physician medical-necessity letter template at no charge. We’ve worked with the gated communities in Madison, Ridgeland, and Brandon. If a board requires its own engineer’s letter, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Most Jackson families call me after humidity has made the stairs dangerous — a slip on the hardwood treads in a Belhaven bungalow after the AC struggled through an August afternoon, a father in Fondren who hasn’t been upstairs since his knee gave out in June, a daughter in Atlanta calling about her mother alone in a two-story Colonial in Eastover.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
