Straight Stairlift

Most common in Huntersville

The workhorse of Huntersville’s two-story subdivisions — from Northstone colonials to Birkdale townhomes. More than 80% of the stairlifts we install across Huntersville are a straight-rail model. The rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup carries you through the next Piedmont thunderstorm outage. Northstone, Skybrook, The Hamptons, Monteith Park, and Rosedale installs typically wrap in under four hours from arrival to first ride.

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Mecklenburg County

Mecklenburg County, NC

Northstone, built starting in 1997, is our highest-volume area in Huntersville — two-story colonials with straight staircases from foyer to upper bedrooms, where original buyers are now in their late sixties and seventies. Skybrook and The Hamptons run similar floor plans with master-planned layouts. Monteith Park and Macaulay attract families where the HOA architectural review committee is the first phone question — we bring reasonable-accommodation paperwork to every appointment. Birkdale townhomes near Birkdale Village have Charleston-style architecture and stairs narrow enough for compact-profile rails.

We also staff dedicated coverage for Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Mount Holly, and the Lake Norman waterfront — same pricing, no travel surcharge.

1999 Northstone colonial — slim-profile rail on hardwood foyer stairs

Northstone, NC Installed March 2026

A 1999 colonial in Northstone’s private golf community with dark hardwood treads running from the foyer to the upper bedrooms. Mrs. Whitfield had a knee replacement scheduled at Novant Health Huntersville the following month and wanted the lift running before she came home. The slim-profile rail bolts directly into the tread nosing, and the beige seat parks unfolded at the bottom landing where it’s ready the moment she reaches the stairs. The ARC packet went to the Northstone board on a Monday and came back approved Wednesday. Install to first ride: three and a half hours.

Hollins Grove custom home — curved rail past a sweeping walnut balustrade

Hollins Grove, NC Installed February 2026

A custom-built transitional in Hollins Grove with a sweeping two-story entryway staircase, a 180° turn at the mid-landing, and a walnut balustrade the builder hand-finished in 2008. Mrs. Calloway was clear: the balustrade would not be drilled, scratched, or modified. We fabricated a curved rail that threads the inside wall line for 24 feet in a single custom run. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the upper landing where it steps off onto the hallway, and the balustrade is completely untouched. The lift sits against the wall like it was part of the original floor plan.

Monteith Park traditional — straight rail in a compact cottage-style stairway

Monteith Park, NC Installed January 2026

An early-2000s traditional in Monteith Park with stone-tile treads and a cozy stairway that runs right past a wooden sideboard the family uses as a mail station. The cottage-style layout left barely 33 inches between the wall and the furniture, but the compact-profile rail fit without moving the sideboard. The brown-upholstered seat sits at the bottom of the stairs next to the potted plant Mrs. Ashworth has kept alive for twelve years. She was back upstairs the afternoon we finished, and the sideboard stayed exactly where it’s always been.

Birkdale raised entry — outdoor porch lift over natural stone steps

Birkdale, NC Installed December 2025

A Charleston-style townhome near Birkdale Village with a raised front porch and rough natural stone paving at the entry. Sra. Morales had been avoiding the front door entirely, using the garage as her only way in and out. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone steps, mounted the cream weatherproof seat at the bottom where natural daylight fills the covered entry, and weather-sealed every fastener for Carolina humidity. Luis walked her through every control in Spanish. She called the following week to say she had used her front door six times — more than the entire previous month.

The Hamptons colonial — straight rail on carpeted stairs with VA HISA grant

The Hamptons, NC Installed November 2025

A late-1990s colonial in The Hamptons with carpet-covered treads running from the tiled foyer landing to the upper hallway. Mr. Patterson is a retired Army sergeant who served at Fort Liberty and qualified for a full HISA grant through the Salisbury VA Health Care System. The brown upholstery on the seat matches the carpet tones, and the mounting bolts pass through the carpet pile into the subfloor without visible damage. Wall-mounted light switches at the landing needed no relocation. He uses it twice a day to get to his upstairs office.

Platform Lift

Rosedale two-story — indoor wheelchair platform lift for full-time chair user

Rosedale, NC Installed October 2025

A Rosedale two-story where Mr. Harrington uses a power wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. The family needed an inclined platform lift — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail — installed on the indoor stairway between the main floor and the upper bedroom level. The orange-painted walls along the stair run and the window on the landing made for a bright, visible installation. The platform folds flat against the wall when not in use. He was riding it to the upper floor the same evening we finished.

Common Questions

Everything Huntersville Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Huntersville right now?

Straight rails in standard Huntersville homes — the two-story colonials in Northstone, the Skybrook transitionals, the traditional-design homes in Monteith Park and The Hamptons — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you’ll need for the custom homes in Hollins Grove and Olmsted with sweeping entryway staircases, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry after a laser scan. Outdoor and humidity-sealed models for raised deck entries and Lake Norman waterfront stairs run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes rail, seat, installation, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are quotes higher for Northstone or Hollins Grove addresses?

No. Equipment prices are the same across North Carolina — we don’t inflate quotes based on subdivision or street address. What occasionally adds cost is the labor for unusual conditions: fabricating a custom curved rail for a sweeping entryway staircase in Hollins Grove, running an outdoor rail down a Lake Norman waterfront stair run, or the extra coordination for an HOA architectural review committee in The Hamptons or Skybrook. Every line item is on the quote before you sign.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Huntersville assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and handles consultations across the Charlotte metro in the family’s preferred language. Printed quotes, consent forms, and operating manuals are available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any extra fees for HOA approval in Huntersville subdivisions?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We’ve worked with the architectural review committees in Northstone, Skybrook, The Hamptons, Monteith Park, Birkdale, and Rosedale — the reasonable-accommodation letters under the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act are already templated. What can occasionally add cost is when a board requires its own engineer’s letter or asks for a formal ARB submission. If that comes up, you will know before we start, not after.

A word from Luis

Most Huntersville families call me after something has already gone wrong — a fall on the Northstone staircase, a discharge from Novant Health with orders not to climb, a father in The Hamptons who hasn’t been upstairs in weeks. The daughter in Raleigh calls because she watched her father hold the railing in the colonial he’s lived in since 1999 and she knows the next time could be the last time he tries. The wife in Skybrook is looking at sixteen carpeted risers and realizing the guest room on the main floor is not a permanent solution.

My job is straightforward: I come to the house within 24 hours, laser-measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote that holds for 30 days. No deposit on day one. En español si lo prefiere.
