Stairlift Service Across Orange County

Orange County, FL

Because Horizon West is unincorporated Orange County, permits run through the Orange County Development Services Division on Kaley Avenue, not the City of Orlando Permitting Services. The Florida Building Code and DBPR licensing requirements are identical, but the permit desk and inspection schedules are separate. We've worked both sides of that line for years. Coverage extends west to Winter Garden and Oakland, south to Windermere and Doctor Phillips, and north to Lake Butler and Bay Hill — no travel fees anywhere inside the Horizon West corridor.

Straight

2018 Hamlin two-story — straight rail anchored through the CMU transition

Hamlin, FL Installed March 2026

A 2018 Pulte two-story on a cul-de-sac in Hamlin — the most common floor plan we measure in Horizon West. Sixteen carpeted treads, single straight run, wood-frame above the first-floor bond beam, and a CMU block transition at the bottom two treads. Mr. Capobianco retired from Long Island in 2021 and had a total knee replacement at AdventHealth West six months ago. His wife called on a Monday, we measured Tuesday, and installed Thursday. The bottom two anchors are stainless sleeve anchors drilled into the CMU; the rest are standard lag screws into plywood-over-joist. He rode it the afternoon we finished and said the quiet surprised him — quieter than the garage door opener.

Toll Brothers Lakeshore estate — curved rail past an L-shaped landing

Lakeshore, FL Installed February 2026

A 2020 Toll Brothers estate home in Lakeshore with a wider-than-average staircase and an L-shaped landing turn at the top — one of the few Horizon West floor plans that requires a curved rail. Mrs. Reinholt's husband passed in late 2025 and her daughter in New Jersey called us because her mother had stopped going upstairs. We laser-scanned the staircase on the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that carries from the foyer through the 90-degree turn to the upper hallway, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps off onto the hallway floor. The HOA architectural submission went through Lakeshore's management company in one review cycle.

Straight

WaterMark Meritage — energy-efficient build, standard straight install

WaterMark, FL Installed January 2026

A 2019 Meritage energy-efficient two-story in WaterMark with a tighter building envelope than most Horizon West homes — which means slightly lower attic-adjacent temperatures and less thermal stress on the motor lubricant. Fifteen carpeted treads, single straight run, no landing turns. Mr. Sheehan had spinal fusion surgery at Orlando Health and wanted the lift operational before his discharge. We measured on a Wednesday, installed Friday morning, and he rode it home from the front door that afternoon. The Sheehans' HOA required no submission because the lift is entirely interior.

Outdoor

Bridgewater covered entry — outdoor rail on stone-paved porch steps

Bridgewater, FL Installed December 2025

A 2016 two-story in Bridgewater where the covered front entry has a five-step rise from the driveway walkway to the front door — stone pavers over a concrete pad, the standard builder finish in that village. Mrs. Antonelli moved down from Connecticut after her husband passed and the stone steps became treacherous after a hip replacement in November 2025. We anchored a weather-sealed outdoor rail into the concrete beneath the pavers, fitted a cream-colored weather-resistant seat that parks at the top next to the front door, and sealed every connection point against Central Florida humidity and storm-driven rain. She rides it to the front door every morning and the HOA approved the install in one cycle after we attached the Fair Housing Act accommodation packet.

Bridgewater — 500-lb reinforced frame for post-surgery recovery

Bridgewater, FL Installed November 2025

A 2016 two-story in Bridgewater where Mr. Dawson was recovering from bariatric surgery at AdventHealth Celebration and the standard 300-lb frame couldn't provide the margin of safety his care team wanted during early recovery. We specified the 500-lb reinforced frame with the 22-inch padded seat, anchored the reinforced rail into the carpeted treads with additional masonry anchors at the CMU transition, and timed the install to the day before his discharge. His daughter coordinated with us by phone from Philadelphia — we FaceTimed her through the assessment so she could see every measurement before a dollar changed hands.

Platform Lift

Hamlin — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a retired Air Force veteran

Hamlin, FL Installed October 2025

A 2017 Pulte two-story in Hamlin where Mr. Petersen — a retired Air Force master sergeant with a service-connected spinal cord injury — uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on his interior staircase: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges, white safety handrails on both sides, and a DC motor that carries the platform and wheelchair smoothly between floors. He qualified for the VA HISA grant through the Orlando VA at Lake Nona — we pre-filled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back in four weeks, and the $6,800 grant covered the full install. He rolls onto the platform from his hallway, rides to the upper floor, and rolls off without assistance.

Common Questions

Everything Horizon West Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Horizon West right now?

Straight rails in a standard Horizon West two-story — the Pulte and Meritage floor plans in Hamlin, WaterMark, and Lakeside Village — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the occasional L-shaped landing in Toll Brothers Lakeshore estate homes run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed rails for raised garage-to-entry transitions run $4,000 to $7,500 with hurricane tie-downs included. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, extended-discharge battery for Central Florida, installation, and the first service visit.

Is Horizon West more expensive than older Orlando neighborhoods?

Equipment prices are identical — a straight rail in Hamlin costs the same as one in College Park or Baldwin Park. What occasionally adds a small line item in Horizon West is the CMU-to-wood transition anchor at the bottom tread. Most Horizon West homes have a concrete-block first floor and a wood-frame second floor, and the first tread sits right at that transition. We anchor into the CMU with stainless sleeve anchors rather than wood screws — a $0 to $150 materials difference depending on the builder's framing. It's on the quote before you sign.

My HOA charges an architectural review fee — is that on top of your quote?

Our quote includes the preparation and submission of the HOA accommodation packet at no charge. What we cannot control is whether your particular HOA charges its own application fee — some Horizon West villages charge $25 to $75 for architectural submissions, others charge nothing. We tell you the exact amount during the first visit after we identify your community association. For interior stairlifts you almost never need HOA approval; the conversation only comes up for exterior-visible work like a garage-to-entry rail or a front stoop lift.

Do you offer financing for Horizon West homeowners?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Horizon West families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial VA HISA grant to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through the math during the free assessment — on paper, not a tablet screen you can't read.

A word from Luis

Horizon West calls are almost always the same house — a 2015-to-present two-story stucco-over-block from Pulte, Meritage, Taylor Morrison, or Toll Brothers, 16 carpeted treads on a wood-frame interior, and an HOA architectural review committee that meets twice a month. The homeowner is usually 68, just retired down from the Northeast, and did not expect the knees to go this fast in a house where the master bedroom is upstairs.

My promise: on-site within 24 hours, a written quote honored for 30 days, the HOA accommodation packet pre-filled before your next architectural review meeting, and the extended-discharge battery we spec for every Orange County install after Hurricane Ian and Milton. No pressure. No upsells.
