Stairlift Service Across Forrest County

Forrest County, MS

I install across Hattiesburg's four historic districts and every modern subdivision in Forrest and Lamar counties. The Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood — the 23-block area first added to the National Register in 1980 — has heart-pine staircases that demand wood-thread anchors. The Oaks Historic District homes sit on brick piers and often need outdoor units at the entry steps. Parkhaven near Kamper Park has 1920s-60s houses with mixed tread materials. Bellevue off Highway 24 has winding streets with raised colonials. The Avenues grid west of downtown has 1920s-40s homes with service alleys. Bent Creek, Bridgefield Estates, and the Hardy Street District condos near USM round out my regular install map.

Common Questions

Everything Hattiesburg Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hattiesburg, MS?

A straight rail in a Hattiesburg home starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails for Historic Neighborhood foursquares and Bellevue colonials start at $9,000 because the track is custom-fabricated. Outdoor units for The Oaks raised entries start at $4,000. Heavy-duty 600 lb units start at $5,050. Every quote includes the in-home measure, install, and a 5-year warranty.

Is financing available in Hattiesburg?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month with approved credit, no prepayment penalty, and terms of 24 to 84 months. Most Hattiesburg households on Social Security qualify based on the fixed monthly payment alone — we accept credit scores down to 580.

Are stairlifts tax-deductible in Mississippi?

If your physician signs a letter of medical necessity, the stairlift is a deductible medical expense on your federal Schedule A — including install labor. Mississippi doesn't add a state-level credit, so the savings come through the federal return. Keep the invoice and the doctor's letter together for any audit.

Do you charge for an in-home measure in Hattiesburg?

No. The visit is free across all of Hattiesburg, Forrest County, and Lamar County including Petal, Oak Grove, and Purvis. I bring the rail samples and measure every tread. The quote you sign is the quote you pay — no permit pass-through, no bolt-on fees.

A word from Luis

Hattiesburg homes split into three install profiles. The 450 structures of the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood from the 1880-1910 era have heart-pine treads I won't drill into without a wood-thread anchor and a pilot hole — that pine is brittle and splits with a standard lag bolt. The Oaks Historic District homes are similar but most have a raised first-floor on brick piers, which means the outdoor entry stair is the install, not the interior. Then you have the post-1950 builds in Bellevue, Parkhaven, Bent Creek, and the new construction off Highway 98 — those are standard tread depths and most install in three hours.

Forrest County humidity matters too. I use stainless fasteners on every Hattiesburg job, indoor or out, because regular zinc plate corrodes on the rail clamps within five years. The seat upholstery I source is a closed-cell foam that doesn't mildew. Small details, but they're why my Hattiesburg installs from 2015 are still running.

— Luis Ramírez, Hattiesburg
